Retro estate
Not quite retro enough I doubt but a BMW 535d E61 M sport is my shout I had a 06 saloon mapped sensibly to 320bhp did 60000 miles after the map and it never missed a beat and in real world driving scared the crap out of some big boy cars

Looks really good Chris you are absolutely right to take the tints off. I do think, and my opinion only, clear repeaters would look good

Cheering Myself Up
Sam reckons the springs in the waste gates have weakened over time but he couldn't reach one of them and we were racking up a bill So I'm thinking respray, new wheels, new exhaust play over the summer and back later on in the year to let the rest of the horse power out. 370 at the wheels is enough to be mildly terrifying.

Cheering Myself Up
Its a guy called Sam Weller his company is hybrid tune. Really nice guy, freely admits he's not a 300zx expert, although he's done a couple before, but he's sensible and logical which was what I needed. In terms of the ECU I honestly have no idea, there's been some rollercoaster emotional stuff going on in my life, so I simply rocked up and said help. Well when I say simply I mean chatted for a couple of hours and handed the car over when I was happy with him. I just needed to get some normal back in my life. For those of you who know me a bit better I ought to explain a little more. Father in law passed last week after a long illness, he lived in an annexe and as such was a massive part of my families lives. So priorities shift in these situations and cars fell off the side. Hence the handing over of things. As normal returns, and the better weather, the Zed will be breathing fire again and hopefully be a little special in appearance. - - - Updated - - - Suggestions for wheels please I'm very open about it and nothing other than the colour is set

Cheering Myself Up
it's a link G4 the guy tuning it recommended it as a good balance between price and performance and so far it seems pretty damn good 10 hours of dyno and the car is better than ever

Cheering Myself Up
The roof scoop -if it was real- would be for forcing air into the car when racing to keep the cockpit cool The previous owner fitted the kit and I blow hot and cold over the scoop, but it's kind of part of the car now. I'm not thinking wild graphics or anything, but all the same colour, no extra graphics although I did have a top secret idea I discussed with Mondo which may come back. The wheels are the thing I'm not sure about. I'm leaning a bit towards gloss black at the moment. I do think red over black will look a bit different and very cool

Cheering Myself Up
Hi Folks Nissan has been poorly for a long time and then my Dax Rush decided it didn't like the fuel pump and left me stranded on the side of the road. So on the basis of cheering myself up, and stopping being a lazy git with the cars I have pulled my finger out. So the shortie has been away and has now has a spangly new stand alone ECU and is running well. Currently at 370bhp on the dyno at just under 1 bar boost (the engine has forged internals, 555's and bigger turbos) No manual boost controller just pulling good and hard at a sensible level ( that will change!) and of course now up and running. The next step is the paint and I just wondered on peoples thoughts. My car is far from standard looking and is candy apple red, but quite faded on one side. I am thinking candy apple red over black as opposed to silver And wondering what peoples thoughts on wheels are. And yes I know my car isn't for the purists  So you can say lose the body kit as much as you like - it ain't happening !!!

Brexit Poll
I totally agree, two years ago Brexit was presented as a yes/no option. All in or all out, but more alarmingly it was sold individual parts of the population on individual points. No Job? - we'll stop immigration that will solve that - vote Brexit. Having to wait for an operation? - we'll give the NHS 350 million a week - vote Brexit Wages low? we'll take control of economy and make it boom- vote Brexit I also believe that the Brexit campaigners found a "magic bullet" to win the vote by targeting the proportion of the population who don't normally vote with specific promises that clearly were never going to come to anything. Hence the massive turnout. So what we have done with the democratic process is allowed the least politically aware to shape our future. As a majority we elect a minority whose role is quite simple. "Learn all you can about a situation and make the best decision on our behalf." Except of course with the single most defining and important vote we will see in our lifetimes. Where we watch a continuous tirade of clowns on both sides making stuff up. Then when the Brexit camp wins they have the temerity to ask the Government what the plan is? Fast forward and we find ourselves where we are today. A stubborn PM who appears to be running down the clock by delaying votes and discussions, presumably in order to shoehorn her plan in because it will leave no time for amendments and we all agree a hard Brexit would be a disaster. The Hard line Brexiteers all saying the plan is a betrayal, but strangely are unable to offer an alternative, and have also resigned from positions where they could have influence. A leader of the opposition who is slowly but surely chasing the big job by seeing this as nothing more than an opportunity to hammer political nails into May's political coffin. Oh and now all of the previous Prime Ministers who are still alive have said we should have a second referendum - but what do they know? It's not like they have any experience. I also wonder why if we have a General Election every 5 years (where the public are allowed to revisit their previous decision) would it be a "betrayal of Democracy" (according to Mrs May) to revisit this decision? Call me cynical, but I wonder there is a fear that a significant demographic of those who voted to leave who are likely to resort to French style violent protests. Are we being held to ransom by what might be? Incredible times, where we live in a developed country with a powerful economy and are being led by an unelected leader into a situation that neither the Leavers or the Remainers voted for.

Brexit Poll
The thing with Corbyn is he was a joke, voted in almost as a protest vote and I believe because no seriously thought he would ever be PM. Then he fought with his own party who tried to push him out - and won. He tamed his MPs and bought them into line. He started out as Michael Foot and is slowly turning into Tony Blair. The man is very clever and becoming a real politician. Anyone who can change and stay alive to the political degree he has is a dangerous opponent. People write him off and he could genuinely come from nowhere if we aren't careful. My personal beliefs have always been slightly to the right of centre and consequently almost always vote conservative. A hang up from growing up with Thatcher and believing as she said that everyone can and should achieve. I appreciate that's a very devisive comment and again I don't mean to upset people but it made sense to me. I also appreciate I live in the South and she took the unions on and as a consequence decimated industry in the North. Now here's the strange part my business became successful under Tony Blairs Labour Government and David Cameron's Government actively attacked it ( I'm a professional Landlord) But Blair's ideas were slightly left of centre and Cameron's were slightly right. Now we find ourselves in the dangerous situation of the two choices for a ruling party being far right and far left. In my opinion both the leaders are driven by ego and stubbornness and as a country we are in real danger of being mislead for the next 4 to 6 years. We need a hung parliament to mitigate this so be very careful who you vote for and why next time because more than ever it will be important.

Brexit Poll
Oh no I'm back on my soap box People forget that whilst 17 million said yes to Brexit 16 million said no. Personally I think we have voted for 10 hard years with a maybe at the end of it when we finally stabilize as a country. In my opinion there were 2 irrefutable facts about Brexit 1 The two people best placed to understand what would happen, Cameron and Johnson were head to head so no one actually knew what the effect would be 2 The pound would slide in value against the dollar due to the uncertainty, crude oil is priced in dollars so fuel prices would go up. We make very little in the UK and import loads, transport cost go up so we voted for price rises on nearly everything. We then wasted a year stating we would dictate to 27 other countries what they would do, which of course didn't happen. If you want an example of how powerful the EU is economically Trump was talking about sanctions and trade wars, Jean Claude Juncker has a meeting with him and European sanctions strangely fall off the table. The US may well be the worlds largest economy ( occasionally depending on exchange rates China does take that crown), but combined the EU is over 3 times larger that the US economically. I can't help but think we've fallen into a " grass is greener" trap. I voted to remain, but I respect the democratic process so I will of course go along with the leave vote. However there was a lot of talk about the people being able to decide when we had the referendum, yet now there is a lot of talk about how we can't have a second one. Cameron held the referendum because he was sure he would win and of course he lost, you have to ask why prominent politicians now refuse to hold a second one when 2 years have passed and a great deal more information has come to light. Is it that the people are now not able to decide? I would personally like to see a second vote but I don't believe we will. My prediction is Brexit will be delayed, the EU will stand by their no further negotiation stance, we will eventually sign on the dotted line in 2020, the Conservatives will crash out in the general election and Labour will be left with an impossible task. The country will lag behind in economic growth for the next 10 years and I suspect that in my lifetime I will see us re apply to join Europe I'm not trying to poke the bear here or wind anyone up that's just how I see it

Building a Hoose
A few bits for you which may or may not help Ground source heat pumps are a lot cheaper to put in if you have some land as they can be spread out as opposed to dug down Air source heat pumps can work well, I have one and at full capacity 4kw of electrical energy results in 23kw heat energy However whilst both ground and air source pumps are advertised as working down to -10C they lose efficiency massively when the temperature drops below about 5C, so keep in mind the average temperature of where you are building. My advice is build some sort of traditional heating ability in as well ( you don't have to use it) Solar Panels when situated properly work really well, I have a 20kw array, which is the largest you can have as a domestic setup. We have 2 annexe bungalows with parents in them, a large house, a barn, a workshop and some garages and I have 4 kids. So there are a lot of us living here. My electricity bill for the entire site in the summer is £10 per week and £15 per week in the winter. We also get about £4000 per year on the feed in tariff (although that is the original "good" rate not available now) I have a borehole which costs me about £300 per year for 2 services and filter changes (9 of us live on site) If you dig your own surface water soakaways and don't feed into mains drainage depending on your water authority you may be entitled to a reduction in charges. I also have a Klargester waste processing plant which costs me about £400 per year with a service and 2 empties ( again 9 people) However I have had a couple of callouts ( one failed bearing and one root ball in the soakaway runoff ) they were about £200 per time. I don't have rainwater harvesting because of the age of the building, but that's cheap and efficient for toilet flushing. I believe there are still grants on biomass boilers and decent feed in tariffs available on wind turbines so they might be worth looking at. If you go with an oil or gas fired system always buy a boiler with a bigger BTU rating then you need, they are much more efficient when not running flat out. With an energy efficient new build house as much insulation as you can put in, also insulate internal walls and floors ( this helps with heat retention and sound deadening) Sounds like a simple one but low energy bulbs generally consume 10% of the energy of their traditional counterparts. Hope that helps mate
