  1. I used to work with a guy who worked for a place rebuilding rx7's when i asked him if they had to be rebuilt at 60k, and he said that he fad seen many in for rebuilds as low as 12k, having said that hes seen them running strong with over 100k on them and no rebuild, suppose alot of it is down to how you drive it same as other cars. Still cant get my head round an "engine" with no pistons???:confused:

  6. perhaps the temp sensor has been blinded by all the shiney silver in there, give everything a good thick coat of halfords matt black and see if that cures the problem!!!:D ;)

  12. Heres a possiblity, i know sod all about this but its just a guess theory. Is it possible that if the tyre is bigger, the pressure increase caused by running at very high speed may have been found to be safe running 245's at 120mph and over but not quite so clever running at that speed on a 225 tyre used in Japan, thus they used the 245's as a safetey concern in the uk, but as the jap ones werent made to exceed 112mph so they werent needed over there?:confused: Having said that, the fronts are 225's so that cant be the theory then!!! May as well delete this post but it all adds to the post count!!!;)

  16. Gio i see youve replaced your non stock colour coded silver strip on the front bumper, with a stock grey one. Remember the day you discoved that at the slough meet. Captain stock was not happy!!!;)
  17. Think willieO is spot on here, just sounds like your car is limited to 112mph, good news for you is that it cant of been thrashed round at 150mph all its life. You might as well get it chipped to get the limiter off, if you do a search on chips youshould be able to find someone who can do you a chip cheaply. .......Job Done!!!!;)

  19. Sureley if the radiator sucks it back from the expansion tank the tube will attach at the bottom of the tank, if it only dumps into it and doesnt suck it back the tube will attach at the top. I think it attaches at the bottom, but mark should be able to tell us seeing as hes pulled his off!!!
  20. I think there is somewhere that does this, remember seeing a post on it once, think it may be a post by stuart (SRRAE) on about millers oil if my memory serves me correct. Could be wrong though?:confused:

  22. When mine went the speedo dropped to 0 never shot up to 120 not moving!!! Heres a pic of the speed sensor, worth cheching the wires havent come off.

I think when the engine gets hot and the water expands it dumps excess into the tank, likewise the reverse is true when it cools the water contacts causing a vacum which sucks water from the tank back to the rad, dont think you can do without it?:confused: If you ditch the tank you'll have to plug the hole that the pipe goes to on the top of the rad, if you do that there will be no where for the water to go so it will probably eventually force the rad cap to leak or maybe somewhere worse!! Likewise when it cools it will try to suck air in through the same place. Least thats my theory anyway!!!:confused:
  24. Could just be gremlins from standing too long, disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the ecu, in fact charge the battery overnight if the cars been standing that long. Check all your fluids too before you run it. If its not that could be the speed sensor or something has packed up while its standing. Good luck.
