Hooray! I got my Zed back today.

Two months and 3 days after a git drove into me. Twice. (And failed to give insurance details so the lawyers are now involved - but that story will have to wait until the court case / website update.)

Accident story is here

What a nice man

Gleaming in Linconshire today

Even more silvery than she was before

Coo look ... clean

Just a few bits and bobs to finish off: refurbish the 2nd set of wheels, clean the targa bags, put the sub-woofer and CD changer back, new wipers, club stickers, rear gearbox oil seal, stop the squeaky belts and off to merry France!

Oh - and get the list together for Items For Sale (two J spec wheels, LHS 1990 Rear Light Panel Unit and some other stuff which is in the garage but it's raining and I ain't going out there right now.)

Roll of honour: Gary Bellamy, dabhand with a welder and spray gun; Mike Feeney MJP Auto, parts supremo; AndyZ & Ken ZXS pre-owned parts supremos (supremos of pre-owned parts, perhaps I should have said); Deano for the front bumper; RichardSmith for the UK wheels; Jeff TT; AW Accident Repair; kind words and kind offers from James300,

Herman Munster, PaulC, Russ, Anita, paulnewman, TonyC, Jez, john-boy - and everyone I forgot. And my mum. And Shakespeare. And Arnie's such a wonderful director - I love you all:D :D . What very very nice peeps you all are.

That's a big thank you from me and a big thank you from my bright and shiny Zed!

Cheers - Gio

Gio i see youve replaced your non stock colour coded silver strip on the front bumper, with a stock grey one. Remember the day you discoved that at the slough meet. Captain stock was not happy!!!;)

Those pictures of your car look good, its no good, im going to have to get mine resprayed, the old paintwork just dont polish up like that!!

A silver Z modded or Standard just does it for me every time.

Looks like an excellent repair job there, bet you're well chuffed to be back on the road.

Just remember to stay away from White ford vans (mission imossible).

Fantastic :)

glad its back on the road again - hows the withdrawal symptoms??? :D

Fantastic, be nice to her in all this wet weather :D

Mike

YAY!!!

Congratulations Gio .... nice to see her back in one piece!!

(Personally, I'd have thought you'd take the opportunity to have her painted black, but there's no accounting for taste, is there?)

Have a merry re-union on your way over to La Belle France :)

CheerZ,

JB.

Looks fab Gio,

Now keep well clear of white van man!!! Nice to see a zed restored to it's former glory after an accident rather than broken up!! and lovely and stock too!! (best looking zeds are always stock lol:rofl: that should start something!!:D :D )

By the way, where did you get the mudlaps?? I'm thinking of getting some to stop stone chips to the lower paint on mine now the roads are getting terrible.

Let us know if the work stands the test of time, it's always good to know of a body shop that can be trusted to do a top notch job and not ball's it up!!

Happy zedding

Hi Gio

Your Zed looks excellent:)

Good luck with the legal action against white-van-scum;)

BTW, I would also like to know where those mudflaps can be gotten from

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thank y'all

and as a manual owner, can I say I was well impressed when Gary (who picked me up from the station in Mrs Gary's auto Zed) gave it some welly - I think that's the first time I thought f*** me in any auto. Nissan must have got something right :D

b19rks - yep, that's just one example of why you shouldn't go to meets: you find things out, get ideas and spend money

Herman - guess how long the good weather lasted from the pics you see here? 23 minutes until the first shower turned the road slippy slippy

john-boy - black.. Black BLACK BLACK ..... perhaps better not :p

paul , richard - the mudflaps are (they tell me) a J market OEM option. Despite some research through the gurus of non-UK parts, we could not find how to order these. I was lucky as martinfa was selling a set because he was putting a bodykit on.

I think in over a year, I have only heard of 2 mudflaps sets for sale. Warren's went to someone else and I got martinfa's.

Sorry I can't give the part number as I haven't found it yet!

And thanks to the kind words from everyone else - I have to say that I am so pleased to get my Z back again.

Cheers guys'n'gals - Gio

happy happy singy dancy :D hello clouds hello sky hello v6 hello 280hp hello zed :D :D
