  1. Wooo-hooo!!! Well done the Gills! What a great result after a terrible start to the season! :duffer:
  2. Those who diss the 300zx are simply ignorant... As someone used to say "Fact"... ;-) In the same way that the 240z moved things on in 1969 (I think), the 300zx moved things on in 1989 - big time... It's a design classic, fantastic looks, superb comfort, effortless performance - that's why it was car & driver best sports car for many years in the US, tell the doubters to try a good one. It started the rush of new wave Japanese supercars - it's the original, not a second-rate pastiche. Forget the GTO (overstyled), RX-7 (Overcomplicated) and Supra (Over-Hyped) - when I first saw a Z32 it changed my life and started a long obsession that's ended in owning 5 of 'em...! I'd also like to add for the benefit of the tape, that I now own a Skyline (dodges rotting fruit), GT-R34 v-spec... And i have to say, I love it. But it's a different car to the Z32 and in some areas inferior - you have to pull a lever to adjust the seat FFS! Plus it's as uncomfortable as a hair shirt - not designed to ooze down the street like a 300... No t-bar either... Arse. Celebrate all sporting Nissans, that's what I say - and tell your mates who's leading the pack now with the new GTR... Is it Toyota or Mazda - don't think so!! Bloody good thing this lager.... CheerZ, JB.
  3. I saw your Z there matey - looked a nice one too... A saw one or two others (a white one - reg K300 - something) as well as the modded jobby in the pits. I'm afraid I was there in my Audi though - trying to look inconspicuous - which is quite hard in an A8 LOL... Good show - quite a bit of automotive porn for me (my Skylark was parked up with Kai Performance) - but shite organisation IMO - not enough food stands, ice-creams at 3.50 (ffs) and not enough staff to marshall the traffic - still must have turned a pretty profit at 20k people at 12.00 each. CheerZ, JB.
  4. I saw it too - a little bit ott, but the work had been done well - nothing looked like it was about to fall off, and yes, lovely Blitz wheels too! :D
  5. Are you sure? LOL - actually, I think it's his turn to buy the burgers!! I'll deffo be coming - so long as the missus can keep her legs crossed and hang on to the nipper a bit longer!! CheerZ, JB.
  6. By the way, I hope none of you boys are going to laugh at my Skylark... It's pretty much standard at the moment, so gonna get it's ass whooped by Z's various... It is *only* a 2.6 though, to be fair :(
  7. Oh bugger - looks like my sub has expired and I can't PM you... Arse. Can you let me have your PayPal details or text me your bank details, Mark? My number is 07801 664938 and I'll send your tenner right over. CheerZ, JB.
  8. Back from the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sorry Mark - yes, I guess you need to know if I'm hauling my ass up to the RR day... Well, I'd like to, so I'll get the deposit over now... I may not be able to come though, as the missus is quite near to delivering Sprog-let no. 2 - so I may be "needed" at home... LOL. If it's very near full, then I'll duck out, as I wouldn't want to take anyone's place... I'll read the thread now!! :D
  9. Ay - just downloaded "Somewhere in Time" from itunes... cheered my morning right up that has... Spot the middle-aged tosser headbanging at his desk... :smw:
  10. Surely, it has to be "run to the hills"... I too had stranger in a strange land (was that on Somewhere in Time) on my first rock t-shirt... Happy days! Wore it so much, people used to think it was a tattoo... :slap:
  11. Well, there is a "master-plan" to ruin a vast swathe of beautiful Kentish countryside and make the already choked road arteries even more unbearable, yes - but with luck it's a bit of a smokescreen to get some new housing developments underway - I've heard recent rumours that it's now going to be further up the M20 in the Wrotham area... Fook knows!! To be fair, it doesn't affect the part I live in (other than the construction and traffic), but suffice it to say, I wouldn't be sad if it doesn't happen. :nono: Be nice to catch up with a few faces and have a go on the RR...
  12. Can I bring a non-Z and run it?? Should have a new motor by then so I can recommence the road to ruin that is tuning!! Be nice to benchmark it as (Almost) standard. CheerZ, JB.
  13. Just as an aside, my current Z is also coming up for sale very shortly - just having it mapped currently - full advert to follow shortly. But, just in case you're interested (if you're looking for standard, you won't be), it's a red 1990 J-Spec Manual, 60k miles, full professional engine re-build upgrade a few years ago, done less than 2k since then; forged pistons, 555's, hybrid turbos, uprated clutch etc, etc... Not to mention AP racing brakes, Antera alloys etc... Currently running 457bhp (at the fly) at 1.2 bar. She's a beauty - subtle body mods, 99 rear lights etc. I'm not putting up a proper ad until the mapping/ECU swap's been completed, just thought you might like a heads-up ;-) (and anyone else for that matter). Apologies for hijack!! CheerZ, JB.
  14. Out of interest - the red one on that site is the same car I bought from the bloke back in Summer 2006... I then sold it on to a chap called "kev" from Sevenoaks, who still had it when I spoke to him mid-way through last year. Is/was a forum member but never a regular poster, IIRC. Also, those are the same pictures of the car that I bought it from over 2 years ago!! So some caution required here. As for the dealer - seemed an OK bloke to me, but very inflexible on the price, no matter how hard I tried. The car was pretty much as he described it, and I didn't have any trouble with it. He did promise to put a new rear wiper on it for me (whooooo!) but didn't. Overall, I'd rate him 2.5/5 as a seller, but the car was good-un on the whole. If you're gonna buy one from him - make sure you take him to task and stick to you guns over any improvements you agree. First of all, though, check it is the car that's in the photos!! Not sure how much help this is - LOL. BTW - fully documented Nissan Service History is a lie - there was quite a bit from Nissan and a lot of bills, but fully documented, it ain't. CheerZ, JB.
  15. Thanks Guys/Girl!! :hyper: Had a fine time at my 2 year olds friend's party - yipee! But nice meal out with the missus last night and a few wines!! :D Bugger me - 37 eh?
  16. Jeez mate - only just seen this... Nothing worse than a sick child, but nothing more resilient either, fingers crossed for a complete recovery... Our thoughts are with you and family.
  17. Great stuff Leigh - really enjoyed the set of 10 - but The Last Day and Panic are the stand out tracks for me - harder to choose a 3rd, but I do like a good riff, so went for Everlasting... Stronger/Faster was a close run 4th, I think. Not sure if it's my extreme age or incompetence, but couldn't for the life of me find the tracks on MySpace, so had to revert to Kerrang. :) Really impressed with the production etc, though - really tight and professional; couldn't help feeling a little guilty I hadn't had a listen before!! HTH, CheerZ, JB.
  18. Joel et al, Is this still happening? I think I'm fine for that weekend, should have the car back by then too!! :hyper:
  19. Hi Joel, No - I don't think so - will check with the "official" calendar when I get in tonight, though... See what she's got to say about that evening!! :D CheerZ, JB.
  20. I'd like to join in too - only takes me 35 mins to get to canary wharf in the evening... Car's at the garage at the moment, but reckon she'll be back in 2-ish weeks... when were you thinking of? I think we should keep the red-quotient high, eh Joel? Monday, Thurs and Friday are best for me, tend to be working away the rest of the time... :D CheerZ, JB.
  21. Nice one - glad you've got it fixed - ironic your car's just been in Jeff's for sorting, since I bought that Mine's ECU from him in the first place LOL... Mind you, that was few years ago now to be fair!! Keep us posted about the top-speed run - love to know what the 'ol girl will do. CheerZ, JB.
  22. Actually Clarkey - she had a nice shiny new coat of paint in Honda Black/blue courtesty of PPS and lots of other parts too when I had her... LOL... Still looks fab though IMO - a credit to her current owner - lucky chap. :D Apologies for slight hijack; I'd just like to add that in the early days of being a Z owner, Jeff did some good honest inspections of Zeds for me. CheerZ, JB.
  23. I think what gets my goat is that it says NOTHING about usage... I mean, many of our cars are used as second cars and probably do a fraction of the mileage that more "friendly" cars do... After all, we *ALL* get taxed on usage at the pump, and therefore by association on emmissions. To be fair though, the advisory tossers who suggest that "gaz guzzlers" aren't being charged enough in my opinion are not especially concerned with the environment, to my mind they tend to be pasty-faced, shrivelled testicled, London-based, intellectual liberal tossers who want to wag a finger at cars they find "distasteful" - grow some b****cks, you :xxx: I'll keep driving my gaz-guzzlers 'til I'm skint! No way G-Whiz. Sorry - but this rage bubbled up as I was listening to this on the Today programme this morning - I'm just sick of it.
  24. Sounds good to me, matey - my car's in the garage at the mo, but should have it back by the end of next week (hopefully) - be great to have meet up though. Poor ole Jimbo getting squashed by a truck :( Nightmare - same thing happened to my missus on the motorway about 10 years ago - lucky to get out in one piece. I assume James is OK. CheerZ, JB.
