  1. I think the orange looks great - having had a gun-metal 300 and 350, they do look a little "plain-jane" sometimes, apart from in really strong sunlight... (cue references to crappy English weather). I really like that SWB one that Mark posted - I'd go for the orange, Z does share a fair few styling cues with a lambo after all; it'd certainly be a colour I'd consider for a change. I too have always liked Blue cars - but I do think Bayside Blue et al, have all been a bit over done - Sorry Blues... just IMO, of course. :nono: CheerZ, JB.
  2. Very nice matey - about as good as they get IMO.. :hyper: It's not as pretty as a Z, granted - but I bet it's great to drive... Nice one.
  3. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid - too much "I think I'm the dogs danglies" about Audis... Just can't bring myself to like it. Sure it's a great car - but not for me, ta. Reminds me too much of the TT, an overrated hairdresser's car which I despise. I think it's the way that A4 TDis get driven that's put me off - usually 3 inches from my bumper in the outside line of the M25; amazing how something so trivial can really colour your views. :smash:
  4. Yeah - agreed - I think it's just hard for him to say anything nice about a Nissan, since he holds an irrational and seemingly irreversible bias against them - it's the first time I've ever seen him review a Nissan and not call it a "Datsun" as if he has a bad taste in his mouth... Personally if anyone says anything about "Datsuns" to me, I simply remind them that was the brand that the 240Z was released under - effectively the car that started it all :nono:
  5. I'd agree with what people are saying here about the level of hp for a street car. I think mine is running somewhere in the region of 450 (maybe a little more - remains to be dyno'd) at 1.4 bar on 555s - and i have to say the explosion of power that you get in 1st and 2nd makes them pretty much unexploitable in anything other than perfect conditions - and let's face it, if they're being reined in by the TC all the time - why waste all that power in the first place? Once you get going, however, 3rd and 4th are incredible (IMO)... So I don't think I'd want any more power as it stands. TBH, it's blisterring acceleration that I love about the Z and not huge speeds - perhaps with these massive turbos you're not going to get the full benefit to well into 3 figures? Too fast for my licence. Just IMO, of course... CheerZ, JB.
  6. RE: Peranaman: Indeed this really does sum up the way I think too - extremely well put my man! It does annoy me also that when these aforementioned liberals (usually with shrivelled testicles and NO soul, I'm sure :nono: ) make these proclamations about the evils of "powerful cars" from a point of total ignorance, the furthest they usually have to travel is from Islington to Westminster, or into the centre of Brussels etc - They seem to forget that they are the priveleged few who have decent enough public transport not to need a car at all! :smash: It's one thing lecturing us all on road safety, but when it comes from those who are totally ignorant about motoring - it really makes me Maaaaaaaaaaaad!
  7. Nah - stick it in the spare wheel well, same as in my Beemer - but don't forget to pack the tyre weld!! BTW, my gas conversion guy says he's done a Scooby and and Evo quite successfully - not sure what sort of boost they're running though - also, he tells me it's impossible to get pre-ignition when running on gas - so maybe it would be suitable?? CheerZ, JB.
  8. I like it - think the front end has a hint of the new Jag xk-8 about it... especially in the second photo. Nice rear-end IMO - very nice. :D
  9. Well, it made me smile on several levels... I don't think they take themselves to seriously, which is always good to see... BTW, for saiko -they're from the last series of Big Brother...
  10. Ok, bud - thanks for the info - sounds like his profile! CheerZ, JB.
  11. 300zxy, Do you know if he's the same Darren who won awards as a Nissan mechanic - used to work for Nissan in Maidstone? In fact, fitted the sat-nav to my 350... I know he's in the Medway area, and he does come highly recommended on mechanical know-how... Be good to know - as I may need him too... :D CheerZ, JB.
  12. Stu, I'm afraid my feedback is secondhand, but I'd rely on Steve's word (that's why I bought his car  ). It's also got a very similar set-up to yours, so there may be something in that. I'll give him a call later, to double check and see if I can glean any more info. CheerZ, JB.
  13. Stu, The bloke who re-built mine (Steve E's) seems to have done it to a very good standard, and he's just outside Maidstone - not that far away from you, bud. If you come up with blanks with the others - let me know and I'll get his up to date contact details for you... Best of luck with the impending birth matey! - be prepared for a bit of stress and worry (I'm sure you're experiencing that already!), followed by elation!! CheerZ, JB.
  14. Unless I've missed the point here, it was doing what it said on the tin, albeit that the tin should have been measured in MPH not KPH. I have said Apexi in my car, and although it claims to be reading in KPH, it's not it's reading in MPH, it just happens to add KPH on the display afterwards. Does that make any sense? The long and the short of it was that it was reading 201 mph on the rolling road - pretty damn quick. Just to add a little fuel on the fire of the debate, btw, Steve (previous owner of my car) reckons he had 178 on the Autobahn, and that's in a car that's running 555s and 1.4 bar of boost (prolly producing around 450-ish brake), so fook knows how much power is required to make 200mph... Maybe there was more to come? :p CheerZ, JB.
  15. I'm not sure it ever was supposed to be a "replacement" for the 300 tbh, more an effort to re-discover the DNA line of the orginal 240... Whether or not you thought that was the right thing to do is open to debate. As an ex-350 and now 300 owner again, you can see which I prefer - tbh, I always missed the turbo-thrust, but that's a question of taste. When it comes to it being a great car in its own right, however, no doubt about it - in a market where the default choice is the hairdresser TT - then the 350 stands out as a real sports-car IMO. BTW, although Mike won't like me for saying this, when Clarkson was whooped by his TT on the drag strip (in my 350) - he told my missus afterwards that the 350 was "never" going to win anyway - in fact he lifted off - pretty obvious when you see the 260 nearly overtake it - he wanted to prove a point. Ultimately, however the 300 is faster mid-range - so would have won anyway, but it would have been closer. :D CheerZ, JB.
  16. Fingers crossed for you Stu - what a shedder... I'm sure they'll turn up - hopefully in the next day or two!
  17. Blimey, it's a small world - I sold my red UK one to a bloke from Dunton Green - must be a Z overload in that area when you're in town Chris! Also, just bought a new daily driver from East Peckham! It's all happening in West Kent!! I feel a west-kent Z meet coming on! CheerZ, JB.
  18. Jeez - don't they even teach spelling at school these days????? :headvswal What is a "parshal" shelf? FFS - what are we coming to? That's just one of the "howlers" in this drivel.
  19. Congratulations to you both - and don't worry you can carry on Zedding - I've only resumed since the birth of our little one!! Baby seat fits in a treat, once they're in a front facing one!!
  20. Tossers! :xxx: I'd say it was somewhere in Eastern Europe - maybe Russia? The guy posting "pussies" to nay-sayers on you-tube, is most likely 12 years old.
  21. Ah - yeah, but it's a different HP isn't it? SAE as opposed to DIN - i.e. my old 260z was stamped at 163 HP SAE, but actually had 150 BHP DIN... Actually, more like 30 the state she was in - but you get the point ;). Therefore, I'm guessing they're all around 276-280.
  22. I've got an in-built dislike of BP - locally, they're wanting around 1.06 a litre for Ultimate, which IIRC is 97 RON... Shell, on the other hand want more like 98.9 for their V-Power, which is 100 RON. I've never understood this price differential; just seems like a rip-off to me. So, in conclusion - up you arse BP! :xxx: My baby runs on V-Power, whenever I can get it. CheerZ, JB.
  23. Nice one Dave - that's superb, I had a look at some of that Cisco stuff on a recent client site (I'm a software developer by trade) with a view to configuring a VPN; and it looked like something best left to experts!! So my hat's off to you!! Enjoy your champers - lovely evening for it!! CheerZ, JB.
  24. Looks chavtastic - nice. :smash: Good to see that the best we can manage to reflect Vin Diesel's "daddy built" muscle car is Del Boy's Capri Ghia... :wack: That trailer does not bode well IMO.
