  1. ROFL - Class  Hope you can make it to JAE to collect your award, Mr Turbot!! :D
  2. is that photo taken from an "unfortunate" angle, or does it really stick out about 5 feet??? I suppose you could always put a tent over it somewhere like billing, bit like an awning! Perhaps a good place for a 300zx.co.uk AGM? :D
  3. Side skirts and rear bumpers look just like Veilside C1 to me, which are :D. But that rear spolier??? WTF were they thinking of? It's so totally over the top like the Veilside shark, I just can't see it. Looks like if you leant to hard on it, the car would do a wheelie! :smw: Doesn't look a bad motor apart from that... There should be some sort of motoring equivalent of the RSPCA to deal with abortions like this. :headvswal CheerZ, JB.
  4. I'll tell you what bud, I'll buy you a burger on Monday, for being such an all-round top dog :nana2: And, let's face it, we all know you enjoy a burger... :D CheerZ, JB.
  5. This sort of s**t is truly depressing, but as BK said, it's because they've no respect for anyone other than themselves. Personally, it really gets my goat when people (usually dodgy liberals) keep banging on about how the 80's was such a self-centred time. FFS, it's worse now than it ever was, and I'm not surprised. I talked to my neighbour a couple of weeks ago, and she's a dinner lady at our local primary school (which btw, is right up the league tables and one that people move to be near to), and she says the majority of the kids are just plain horrible. They have no concept of politeness, they don't respect their elders and basically think they can do what they like... The reason? Well, I wonder if it's because teachers are not allowed to call them naughty, tell them they're bad, put red crosses on their work etc, etc, in case they're scarred for life. FFS. No wonder they grow up to be such selfish chavs, who think their personal satisfaction is the only thing that matters! :headvswal Now, I'm not saying we were beaten to a pulp at school, because we weren't, but there was at least the threat of getting a proper *****cking if you crossed the line. And whilst I didn't like all my teachers, at least they were able to command respect, which must be difficult for teachers who can't even tell kids off when they do act in a totally inappropriate manner. It makes me sick. ASBOs are not the answer, we need to re-instill unfashionable values at an earlier age IMO. I can't see it getting any better in the short term. CheerZ, JB.
  6. Mate, that's terrible ... best wishes for her speedy recovery, I guess you just need to be thankful that she's able to make a recovery. You must have been beside yourself - what a 'mare... CheerZ, JB.
  7. No, no, no - this is not what I need to hear, as I'm just planning a trade back in the opposite direction!! TBH, I think you'll find the interior fit and finish better in a UK 350 than an import, I believe refinements in this area was one of the reasons its launch was delayed. So I'm told, anyhow. You're right, though - it is a fine driver's car, but it does miss the extra shove in the back of booooost!! :D CheerZ, JB. P.S. Of course, if you really wanna replace the 300 with a 350, perhaps we should talk... ;) :D :x:
  8. Cheers guys... an extra helping of luck wouldn't go amiss. :D Of course, I've got really excited about getting my 4th 300, but as I said to James on Saturday - there must have been something that made me sell my 300 and buy a 350 after 1 test drive, which is worrying me a tad!! Having said that, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss that feeling of being totally out of control that only two turbos on boost can induce :wack: Blowers are addictive, no doubt!! :D CheerZ, JB.
  9. It's all about cash-flow, I'm afraid Clarkey. I'm trying to get 2 businesses running (so they actually pay me money, which they don't really do at present LOL) and I'm getting married in July, which is proving a little heavy on the fiscal front!!! So, the wheels (and the 350) are going to ease my current financial burden. You're right, they would have set of my 350 a treat! The good news is that I think I can still afford a Z32, so it's just a question of waiting for the right one to come available. Then, of course, I'll have to start looking for wheels again!! CheerZ, JB.
  10.   Boo-hoo, now it's me that needs the hankie.... Glad you're pleased with 'em Jimbo! Be nice to see them on a car now, rather than them festering in the loft, like mine did for a year!! They're gonna look the muts, matey. Sniff, Sniff .. (bloody wedding0), Sniff. CheerZ, JB. :(
  11. I couldn't agree more - FFS, it's one of the few personal spaces left where you can have a fag without fear of someone bleating. And they're few and far between these days. And, yes I have given up - but I still miss being a smoker desperately.. It's more fun to be a social pariah, than one of the masses! Just fancying one now, as it happens. CheerZ, JB.
  12. Well, I trumped you by1, as I had an 18ts as my first car. Bl;ue one with big bouncy blue velour seats. Yes, I remember the 17 - pretty cool, I thought - sort of forerunner of the Fuego. Apparently, I've been told that in France the 15 & the 17 are the archetypal "chav car francais" Not so over there, though, of course! CheerZ, JB.
  13. '94 M is the last year you can get, and tbh, my personal preference is a manual too - it really makes the most of a great engine IMO, but then that's down to personal preference above all else! As for variations between UK and J-Spec there's not that much in it, they're all pretty well equipped, but the J-Spec ones do come with natty fold in leccy mirrors as standard, and quite a few have the funny parking aerial too. I think the most important difference is the oil-cooler on auto models, which is smaller on the J-spec and a recommended upgrade. I've had both UK and J-Spec, and I think by the time most of them make their way to you, the add-ons of previous owners tend to be far more telling. BTW, if you do elect for a J-spec they did produce them up to year 2000, but later ones are still commanding a lot more money, AFAIK. CheerZ, JB.
  14. Glad to see you've still got her, John ... I'm just starting to look for my 4th - LOL - it's nice to see that at least the first is still living on in your tender care. :D CheerZ, JB.
  15. Let's just say, all being well, James has kindly offered to pay for 1/6th of my honeymoon. Well, we all knew he was a nice chap, didn't we?! ;) :D  I'm sure he'll reveal all shortly....
  16. Might have some good news for you later, bud ....... :x: Throw away your handkie and walk tall, my friend. CheerZ, JB. ;)
  17. I reckon it's a 350z convertible, as I've got two boxy-type things where those two letterboxes are. Not sure about the speaker holes though... strange . I haven't got the hoopy-bits though - leading me to thinks it's a drop-top.
  18. LOL Dave, that's exactly what I thought when I made the fatal trip to Nissan in Canterbury - just out of curiosity. I was hooked instantly, next thing I knew my (I'm never gonna part with her) 300 was for sale, and the rest is history. So beware! :D Convertible looks a lot nicer with the hood down, but I've got a feeling that it's only available with a semi-auto box (yeuch!). CheerZ, JB.
  19. Nick, Gutted to hear your tale - it's amazing how much these foooking cars can get you down ... I had a similar adventure with a Porker about 10 years ago that ruined my finances for a good year or two... :( Without wishing to sound too much like a vulture (boo hiss), if you decide you need to get shot, can you send me a PM/or e-mail with your e-mail or phone number, so we can talk? Cheers. My e-mail's johnboyz32 (at) hotmail.com, by the way. CheerZ, JB.
  20. Well, what do you expect from a call called "Trevor"? :smash: Mark, thanks for the Volvo info - only my ignorance, didn't realise they had so much power, and yes, that's much better than the 19mpg I average taking it easy at the moment!! :D CheerZ, JB.
  21. I'm sure that's true mate, never been in one, so can't comment but perhaps I should look at a T5 Estate to replace my Jeep in time - that might make the ultimate rapid transport for fishing trips. I don't think it could possibly use any more juice than my 3.7 Cherokee either! One of my best mate's first car at school was an ancient Volvo 144 2.0, and I'm sure his driving must have done as much as anyone's to dispel that pipe and slippers image, he was mental! :) He now races 750cc bikes in Singapore, so I guess that's as far from pipe and slippers as you can get! CheerZ, JB.
  22. I do hope that it isn't aimed at me, Mark... I know exactly what my machine is capable of, having owned 3 Z32s beforehand, thank-you. :) However, an observation or two: - Audi TTs are not in even in the same class, they're merely grouped together by simplistic motoring journalists, needing to sell copy. One is a muscle car, one is a fashion accessory. I've driven all variations, and they're all shite IMO. - I can't comment on the prowess of your Volvo, but based on the fact that you can "smoke" a 350, one must also assume that it's as quick as Z32 TT in standard trim, since there isn't *that much* between the 2 cars. I remember from when I first got the car that it's not on your list of favourites, and I see that opinion hasn't changed over the last year!! :D :D CheerZ, JB.
  23. Hmmm, dunno they're OK (some of them), but they are made of the lowest quality materials known to homme. In fact, cereal boxes are more robust than most of the French wagons I've owned!! Uh-oh! sounds like a cue for someone to start banging on about the 350 having a Renault engine again ..... Where's Timmy Turbot when you need him? Oh bugger, I've done it now!! :slap: CheerZ, Jean-Garcon.
  24. Actually, thinking back, I had 2 BX 16v GTis, and I never tired of the fun of jacking the suspension up and down... nothing like cars with a few "different" gadgets, and Citroen's tend to have more than any. :) I have to say, the handling in those cars was superb... just a shame it didn't have 6 gears, really. Deluxe headache maker if ever I drove one! :smash:
  25. Conclusive proof that 350's are slower than Citroen taxis then .. wow, that's amazing!! Perhaps I should be looking round for one of them to replace the 350 when I have to sell her, rather than a Z32 then?
