  1. Hi, I've just got mine back from the dyno (today) - more on that to follow, but I am also running stock housing 360 degree hybrid turbos and she made 457 at the fly, that was at 1.2 bar (17.5psi), albeit that normally I run at 1.4 bar quite happily - for some reason it wouldn't make 1.4 bar on the dyno. I've got all the forged internals etc, standard cams, but some extensive head work and lightening and balancing. CheerZ, JB.
  2. LOL - there's a good blast from the past there, Stu - what's happened to 'ole Jimbo and Big Gay Roy?
  3. Ronnie, I can fit a child seat in the back (we have a 2 year old) - it's a Mama's and Papa's one. It does require the passenger seat to be right forward however, and the back rest still touches his feet - but then we don't take the Z much when we have the little man on-board. Shame, cos he loves it! We have another baby-seat from Bebé Confort, and there's no way that fits, so it is a case of shopping around. What do you use in the front? I assume you don't have seat belts in the door, which I do, precluding the use of a normal seat belt attached seat. Looking forward to when he can sit still on a booster cushion! :hyper: Alex - keep us posted as to how you get on. CheerZ, JB.
  4. Cool! Actually, I bought my second one (a 94 UK in gunmetal) from Hythe - saw it with an advert in the back near Prince's Parade. Sadly it got written off by an uninsured, unlicensed, Pikey tosser :xxx: Definitely time for Kentish Coast meeting IMO - how about Samphire Hoe? That'd make for some nice piccies, and I could pack my fishing rod!! :hyper: We could even wheel Paul C out!! :D CheerZ, JB.
  5. LOL - If you'd been going past J8 an hour later, you'd have spotted mine too - seems like there's a fair old Kentish posse about these days... perhaps we should all have a meet soon!
  6. Very nice... I've got the 4.4 litre V8 in my daily driver (540i E39) and I have to say it's a lovely engine - plenty of grunt and creamy smooth... That looks in lovely nick too - nice one!! :nana2: CheerZ, JB.
  7. Ain't that the truth - now I run my own company, it's right back in the cheap seats!! :smw: Trouble is, once you've got used to turning right as you get on a jumbo it's a bitter pill to see other boogers nipping up there! Still, at least that frees up cash to spend on other things!! :nana2: CheerZ, JB.
  8. I too, was fortunate to fly on it, not long before it went out of service :hyper: Thanks to one of my mates, I managed to get me and the missus to New York for about 2k (which was a bloody bargain as this included a first class return from Denver too), so I took her for her birthday. Nearly didn't make the hotel the night before as (believe it or not) the Z broke down LOL. Anyhow, the extra thrust down the run-way and the strange darkness when you look up at 60000 feet cruising made for an awesome experience, as did watching the big speedo thing clock over Mach 2.1 - nice. I have to say a great experience from the Concorde lounge to the extra fast unload of your luggage, a fantastic piece of kit and a sad, sad loss... Heard a programme on radio 4 not long ago that said that building a 2x speed of sound passenger jet at the time was probably a bigger challenge than putting a man on the moon... Marvellous. CheerZ, JB.
  9. Sorry for the hijack Kev - can you give me a call? If you don't still have my number, then post back on this thread... Oh - wasn't me, btw... :nono: CheerZ, JB.
  10. Hmmm, don't remember that one - but Clarkson did that in his "hot metal" video, when a line of Z's raced down a run-way... It was my 350 he was driving that got whooped by Gio's 300 - point he was trying to prove there was that it was cars getting heavier that slowed them down. Which I think isn't quite right, since the Z32 was roughly the same weight AFAIK.
  11. Can't really see them doing it - unless you could get a 300, GTO and Supra or RX-7 for under 1k - then they might do a "shoot-out" feature, and pretty good tv it would make too, IMO. Don't think it would make any difference to the general state of the market... After all, I don't expect last weekend's has affected the price of a decent Alfa Spider... Plus, the only people willing to pay good money for a Z are those "in the know" anyhow. As an aside, I'm not sure I could respect anyone's opinion who thought a Z32 was "crap" - as a comment like that wouldn't deserve respect. I think most people think they're nice cars, even if there are plenty of "crap" examples around. :headvswal
  12. Hi Stu, Good to hear from you, bud - yep, had a Z32 again for around a year - sadly, only get to use it rarely at the moment, but am thinking about either getting on and doing some jobs or re-considering the driveway space it takes up. Currently favouring the doing something about it  From memory, it's got a very similar spec to yours, but I have no Dyno readings or anything yet - do you? Hope you're enjoying fatherhood as much as me!! :D We should have a beer soon and wheel Paul out too!... Further apologies for hijack.... JB.
  13. Having been into one and then out of one back into a Z32 again, I would still say "go for it"... it's a completely different experience, but a good one. At the time I was forced out of my 350z as I needed the money to start a business, now times are a little rosier again and could get another, I still like them but wouldn't swap back, I don't think. I loved the quality feel and the overall modernity (which does show), plus the standard handling and braking which is superior to a standard Z32... What I did miss however was 2 things: 1) The rush of turbo performance 2) The back seats... The Z33 is a great car as a daily driver, and although plenty on here would disagree, I don't think the same can be said of Z32 - after all, the age is against us all sadly. Fuel economy not too bad on a long-run either. Stangely, having 1 small boy is one reason I wouldn't buy another one, as he loves the 300 and the lack of back seats rules out going anywhere as a family. CheerZ, JB.
  14. Some people 'eh? :D  Nope - it's made of paper ... sorry to disappoint!! ;)
  15. And with Dave Lee Roth before that, I think - in fact, think he was a pupil of Joe Satriani. Like a bit of Dream Theater myself - also in a similar vein, ever tried the melodic tones of George Lynch from "Dokken" - Mr Scary... a particular favourite of mine... CheerZ, JB.
  16. Kev, Just been having a spring clean in the office and I've found something that belongs to you that I couldn't find before no matter how hard I looked - sorry mate (red-faced smiley required)... Can you call or e-mail or reply to this thread if you don't still have my contact details. I don't have your number, or I'd call you... CheerZ, JB.
  17. Thanks mate - sorry, I changed my e-mail address, so I had to re-verify... Will PM you now..
  18. Can you clear some PM space, mate? Maybe even drop me a PM when you have... Ta, JB.
  19. Or, Michael "the count" Bisping... for any UFC fans... I'm pretty sure he didn't get that bestowed by any monarch... :smw:
  20. Yay! Congratulations mate - been away - must have missed the announcement!! :hyper: What's she called? Cheers mate! :duffer: JB.
  21. I'm sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. The 350 was never meant to be an evolution (or a direct replacement for) the Z32 - let's face it, there was a long gap in production between the 2, it was supposed to hark back to the original 240, and in my opinion it succeeded in putting Nissan sports car back on the credibility map. The 350 is a fine car - maybe not *quite* as fast as the 300, and definitely not as comfortable, but where it did continue the Z tradition admirably was that in terms of bang for your buck (and build quality light years ahead of the Z32) was that it well and truly trumped all the competition in terms of performance, looks and driving experience. I'm pretty sure of that, because I tried them all out before I bought one. I don't have it now, because I could no longer justify (or afford at the time) a sports car for my daily drive, and the reason I have a Z32 now is because it's used rarely (sadly) and hardly standard spec - I did miss the turbo rush after all! As for the new GTR being a spiritual successor to the Z32 - maybe - but it's not a Z-car... And as far as I've been told, it's going to be sold at a massive premium in the UK (quelle surprise). Mind you - the Z32 was never sold at the price point of the 350 when it was new, so who knows. Just my 2p - but in my view the 350 did a whole lot to raise the profile of Z's generally and the Nissan brand. :smw:
  22. Many congratulations to you both! :hyper:
  23. I would also love to do this - always fancied razzing the car down the strip, but am a bit scared of the pressure of an open day - I know, sad, but true. Club day, however - sounds like a cracking idea! CheerZ, JB.
  24. Yeah - what they said... :hyper:
  25. Too right - she sounds like a real upstanding member of society... :mac1: Glad to hear it's getting sorted for you though - too often it doesn't seem to work out in these sort of cases... Nice one. :hyper:
