Took out the carbon canister in the bumper, to again smooth IC flow!

After we removed the associated pipework, we were left with three hoses, one about 1 inch thick going into the front chassis rail. Two other smaller diameter ones returning back to the firewall!

Am I right in presuming all of these need blocking off?

Mark, isn't one of them the fuel tank breather? You might want to put a liquid block valve on that one, but it'll need to be open to allow displacement air into the tank.

Removing the canister can lead to a strong fuelsmell around the car.

The thick hose runs to the top of the fueltank.

I wouldn't block it off, otherwise the tank can't release it's pressure/vacuum

Maybe put a small filter on it or route a new shorter hose from the fuel tank to the back of the car, so the fuel vapours/fumes won't get into the car if you drive with opened windows.

the 2 smaller pipes run to the plenum, so it's sufficiant to disconnect them from there.

Hi,

Mine was removed to allow the IC to fit better.

The some of the pipes were blocked off and there was never any fuel smell or issues. If only I could remember which ones!

Cheers Eric,

The zed oracle strikes again, I know the tank has to be vented but I thought the tank had to be pressurised/vacuum, since you get that rush of air sound whenyou open the filler cap!

First the rad tank, now tha carbon cannister, whats going on Mark? are you going all nelson on us!!!!:D ;)
