  1. No, sorry, can't put my finger on why but don't think it goes. White is cool! Jap racing white?
  2. Well, the car was solid but! It started with a fuel injector, then 2 wheel bearings, a propshaft then the first engine lost a lot of compression so I put in the TT engine from a rusty TT. That had the turbo fail very quickly. Full rebuild of the turbo, and the clutch failed. Then the gearbox, then it did a piston ring with one ma-hoo-sive knock/pink/det and put oil in the head and water into the sump. Then I got rid of it through Capri gear. There were other things too. It wanted for nothing and was loved as my zed is now... the ungrateful little *******. The TT engine at 230 bhp went like absolute hell!
  3. Right Gary, capri picture posting time, there has been one of these before I know but lets do it again...
  4. I think this should be FAO, Mark Derby, Jaffa or Bob. The Zed world needs some of these Big crazy grilled arch radiators. That car just makes me smile till my face hurts.
  5. Zakspeed Capri http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/02/fire-breathing-neck-snapping-the-ultimate-capri/ "Rules stated that the car must be stock above the wheel arches..." HAHAHA awesome!
  6. Oh dear, I've had quite good use of the aa "the UK's 4th emergency service" as they claim :rofl: Can we take guesses? I'm gonna say fuel pump. Just a stab. Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.
  7. Well it wouldst have caught fire if you hadn't put those seats in :headvswal:headvswal:headvswal
  8. Happy birthday :happybday::thumbup:
  9. My little expression which is really just an excuse for all the stuff I waste money on is "you've got to enjoy yourself haven't you" I know it's not exactly a quote by the dalli llama, but when my mates raise eyebrows it's what I say. I bought my 2.8 capri in my first year in the RAF as soon as I could afford it. It was 3000 pounds then I spent nearly all my money keeping it going. The day it died, I think including buying it insuring it and everything I'd 'lost' 10 grand. I felt like a right tit. It just fell to pieces beneath me. But now I can always say that I owned my dream car. The more time passes the better I remember it and mates still talk always bout it with such a smile on their face. I got 1600 back after all that. But I cruised about in my capri setting car alarms off. Learned a lot about opposite lock and had an awesome time. Owning a car so awesome that it throws itself off the road is better than mincing about in a daewoo matiz and telling stories about hypermile ing down the pub.
  10. Real head scratcher that one. Wouldn't be any easier to route. On a rally car you could run coppers internally if you were bothered about knacking them on rocks. Steel lines would jiggle and chafe on firewalls. Quick and easy repair and replacement. Snap connector things so you can swap a line really easilly?
  11. Why would braided hose be better than copper pipe?
  12. Could happen to any of us, sliding about is great... until it suddenly isnt! They're not an easy car to catch, glad you're Ok mate.
  13. Happy birthday :happybday::thumbup1:
  14. I want one but surely I could make one myself. However if someone on here was knocking them up I'd pay for one...
  15. Rear wheel kilowatts what the ****!
  16. I spose it's like doing a job and finding you don't have the right size of spanner. You can borrow a spanner or take the hit and go out and buy a spanner for one specific nut. You want to do the easy option but it's a gamble that you won't just be borrowing it again in a few weeks. If you keep buying spanners one day you have the toolkit of everyone's dreams. Sorry to sound like a bloody horrorscope. Fix it and build up a trust in your engine that you know the history of.
  17. Bloody hell taff, are you a forensic scientist. Or uk spot the difference champion! I'd never have spotted the upper door latch!
  18. I wouldn't mind one of those callendars, are we doing one?
  19. Ah cool, I haven't done that before. This is a proper expensive indulgence, I always have to sell the idea to myself for a couple of days.
  20. I've had it in my basket a couple of times, should really buy it after pay day...
  21. You're having no luck at the minute, I hope you get a fair deal out of this without too much stress, and it would be nice if the car survives. Good luck.
  22. Welcome, I like that looks really smart, good choice of wheels.
  23. Did you get the 2 gig or 4 gig 770 card? To be absolutely clear, this is a pc you can put battlefield on on maximum everything while listening to iTunes and it will run at a high frame rate.
