Any fairly serious gamers out there?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005OPLG0O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1384045996&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 This the one? Certainly looks good and i'll take an actual persons testimony well over any Internet review :-) I am so out of date with games but used to love pc gaming. Consoles have lost their way recently.

I'll ring them up on Monday see if I can get military discount or something... I never make the most of that. Not that many people do it these days.

Yeah I know, looked into that. There is no benefit to be had from getting anything beyond the basic windows 7. I can get the twin drives the OS a good monitor, speakers bf4 the lot for inside 1500 pounds. A bloody fortune really, but I think the rate of progress for games has hit a bit of a plateau and would expect it to last. Would also mean I can actually edit my go pro footage properly.

Right decided. I'll get the same as him with the gtx 770 and the black/orange case. Only 2 things puzzling me... The description says that it has a smaller ssd and a big hard drive but am I right to think that it doesn't have a ssd with the default set of options? And will the default sound card be more than up to the task of making me feel like i'm actually getting shot at while playing battlefield?

Yeah done a lot of research today, yowsers direction to Charles thread was useful. I can save about 100 pounds building the pc im looking at myself but would prefer the 24 month warranty that overclockers provide. I've nearly settled on the same one Charles bought with a decent monitor off amazon and I will get basic speakers and plug ins to start with. Fancy ones later on.

Any fairly serious gamers out there?
Years ago I was quite into my gaming, less so recently. Was gona preorder a new xbox today but the bloke laughed in my face lol. I refuse to get a sleeping bag out and lie down next to game all night but have started wondering about a games PC instead. So... rather than get seen off in PC world, where would the cheapest (best value for money) place be to get an all singing all dancing PC? Because the £500 for an xbox is a fortune, I'd be better off paying a bit more and getting something that can run all the more interesting independent games rather than being stuck with a console to play mainstream rubbish like the latest COD games. Thanks guys.

working away from home
I was 72 miles away from home at RAF Boulmer and never made it a home away from home. I always was nipping back and when I was stuck there had few home comforts. Here at lossie it's great I'm bloody miles away but living to a better standard and planning visits down and people coming up better. It is quality time.

which discs and pads
Stuff comes round for sale on here dead cheap. Keep an eye out. Perhaps compromise with black diamonds and cheaper pads the pads were like 80 quid. But I wasted money on useless 60 quod discs. These cars are heavy and fast. - - - Updated - - - Or ask in sales and wants.

What did you do to your zed today?
Me and Emma went out in it. Saw a lot of beautiful Scotland, and it's awesome empty well maintained roads. May have seen full boost in 5th at one point too... :whistling: Comfortable, beautiful, monster :-)

which discs and pads
I got them off deemontweeks. They were fairly pricey but I was furious at the 100 quid of rubbish I had warped. And I think they were 300 which was a lot less than the k sports or whatever I was considering.

which discs and pads
I got mtec discs and 30 quid brembo pads. These worked great for about 300 miles then were like poppadoms and wine gums. I now have black diamond and yellow stuff pads and they are great. Don't notice any warm up problems and they are just a bit more dusty than other pads.

I've knackered me knob!
Was chasing my tail and going nuts trying to work it out. No obvious fowling beneath. So took it all to bits, copper greased everything smoothed all the linkage movements a lot. Found the black ring that holds the ball bearing race and pivot down to be warped. A bit of slack freed up the shift as did a bit of slack on the shaft. But tighten both and 5th was a no go. I then saw ITEM TWO WAS UPSIDE DOWN. :headvswall: Inverting this with everything tight and newly greased and it's better than it ever was. Phew :-)

I've knackered me knob!
Yeah thanks Mark, I'll have a go tomorrow and report back. Just to help people in the future ill add a bit more information... New knob The chewed up old one sat a good inch taller once on. This means that the leather knob has less leverage and the shift feels short and heavy. Also 5th and reverse don't really go in anymore. This must have always been a problem but the extra leverage masked it. Kev helped here by advising I try the old knob with it all exposed and the old successful shifting returned. Mark and I discussed this and he explained that the problem probably does not exist inside the short shifter unit itself as I thought. But rather is a clearance issue at the other end of those red circled bolts. On one side the 5th reverse side. I will remove the olive plate (blue circles) and have a look and an adjust tomorrow.

I've knackered me knob!
Thanks Kev, kind of fixed it. It was a question of leverage with the new shorter knob. Can someone sell me a non short shifter kit please as it is rubbish!

Someone please give me a ring 07585118109 I'm stuck in the middle of a car park at work.- I've knackered me knob!
It can't have seated correctly then ill re attack it. Will copper grease do?- I've knackered me knob!
Took the old impul one off to fit a z1 provided oem style jobber. The short shifter came with it so I took the centre console up and dismantled it all. After putting it all back together it only goes into first and not all the way. Item one Item two Item three So what have I done. Should the ball socket thing be greased in item one. Item one also was pulled up into the socket by item two and seemed to seat itself correctly. I think this is where the problem lies. Item three just the short shifter right? Everything was done up "pretty bloody tight" rather than "red in the face tight" as they were when I took it to bits. Thanks guys.- What do you look Like....
Need to get another it's getting worn out lol.- What do you look Like....
