  1. Firstly I took all 4 wheels off and fitted spiggot rings that were not fitted before. I then fitted new black diamond discs on the front with yellow stuff pads. Throughout this I have taken every precaution to not warp these brakes, I cleaned the hubs, fitted the rings properly torqued the wheel nuts properly and I am bedding them in absolutely as per the instructions.
  2. I think the forum should. It's really nice to see the 300 and the vg30dett getting some publicity. A lot of members are doing a lot of good work and with all the shows totb time attack and stuff we may one day be up there with supras and skylines. So someone get a load of white sheets, a zed and a rolling road and give mark a call. Get it on YouTube we all watch it 20 times each, boom! Were famous
  3. 6 plus two turbos... That counts for about 12!
  4. This advert is complete car porn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0gvqLZIQss&feature=youtube_gdata_player I suggest that someone on here that is handy with a camera teams up with perhaps Noz with his rolling road. One of us supplies a lairy fire spitting zed and we make our own. I really want to see that, with red hot bits.

  6. I tried to do this I'll find the post and link it to here. People explained which pins are which sensor and how to wire a 3 way switch. I really need a photo with a big arrow as I got scared by the 3 or 4 looms going into my ecu. I think I'll just go into the wire from the sensor. However, someone said there is a risk of doing this interfering with the signal sent to the ecu so I have put it off for now.
  7. I have committed to my zed, I reckon I'll always have it. It's worth possibly 4 but owes me 8. The zed is everything I want from a car, I smile like a loon as I walk towards it, the inside is a comfortable place to be, passengers comment on it's novelties that we forget about. Then the drive eggs you on and rewards you like nothing I've driven. Above all that you can get a mountain bike in the back. An equivalent would be something like a tvr or a as above a porche, but pound for pound what beats a zed, and performance wise how much does 400 OEM horsepower cost? More than 8 grand. And my 400 or so horsepower was added through my ownership along with other mods that made the car my own.
  8. I know, I've been looking at my options driftworks, japspeed and miester e.g. looks like the everything included front and rear kits from japspeed would do it. I kind of wanted to keep the hicas just recondition it. My car handles brilliantly, feels far lighter than it is and I reckon it's hicas because it turns in so sharply. I'm working on having it switchable though interrupting the ps fluid level sensor. the only thing I don't think I can do myself is those subframe bushes. Not on a drive with jacks.
  9. Thanks misty, what is the impact of the leaking subframe bushes?
  10. This is what I should have done first time round rather than try and remember from miles away from the car. Looking at the play on the hicas arm it's only slack up and down so I don't think it's gona make the back end too vague. Obviously I will still fix it asap.
  11. I have stock rear arms didn't know you could, these are all things I was going to look into. I was trying to get stuff on the way in the post so I can sort it out when I'm off work. The big issue to.my mind are the brakes as they shake almost from.cold whereas the suspension catches now and then. I considered a refurb a big disc kit and wilwoods, but having read a lot of stuff feel like D2s are the way forward.
  12. Sorry you're quite right, I expected people to say Japspeed are better than driftworks and get a full set of bushes from jonny polybush on this website... I'll get some pictures in a few days then we have a better start point. I am afraid I don't fully understand offset, all I knew was they fit on mark derbys car I think his was higher than mine, I'll increase ride height a bit further. Thanks for your help all the same mate.
  13. I was wondering about the bushes being subframe because they don't look like any of the aftermarket parts they look too big. As I say perhaps 2in tall 3in across cylindrical black rubber with a metal outer wet on the bottom with a sludgey grease.
  14. Sorry I intended to take pictures when I get home but I was nearly buying stuff online at work. I just put new rota gtrs on. The fronts are fine the rears are 9.5s with 265s. They only just catch and there are no spacers anywhere. The arches have had the inner lip removed but have not been flared. The car is on monster rs and I will raise it further when I get back. I know it may not be the brakes but I got rubbish mtec discs on the front and I am almost certain they are at least contributing to the issue. I don't know which bushes are gone I hoped it was a distinctive failure.
  15. I can't drive my car because the back wheels catch the arches and the brakes judder the entire car violently. I have raised the rear using my miester rs but clearly it wasn't enough and I'm not prepared to stiffen it further. While I was under there both back sides have collapsed bearings. I don't know quite which but they are apple sized and wet with grease beneath just forward of the hubs. So, the plan is 330mm 2013 D2s on the front. Some spigot rings for the alloys which I will sort out when I get home. And loads of driftworks style suspension bits. And my hicas has play in it. So can anyone work out which bearings are shot from.that description and point me to the better deals out there. Japseed or driftworks or z1? Thanks guys I've filled a few baskets and never hit pay now.
  16. Pretty sure they're quite valuable.
  17. Mine isn't too loud and it's a 3 inch pipe off the back of the turbos. It's quite bassy but I don't feel awkward driving about at night or through town. And on the motorway it's a low burble not unpleasant.
  18. I went the whole hog and got two apexis and a Selin dual MAF. Made such a difference to the turbos boost went from 14 to 18psi due to less restriction. Selin thing works as it ticks over fine. Noz thought it was quite a contributor to my shock 430bhp on stock autos and injectors.
  19. Eggs, the front bumper had nutted a speed bump at some point and pulled the front lower wings to bits. So it looked rough and I dropped off a 1 inch kerb but the back wheel fell into a drain and I cracked the back bumper and made that pull away at the wings. It can be sorted by a paint shop.
  20. It wasn't a full respray Karl, it was front and back with repairs, skirts off and on, underseal spoiler off and on. So just about but wasn't a glass out engine out job. It was 1100 pounds including mot. I got mates rates a bit because he's ex navy I'm RAF and I listened to some war stories, really nice bloke.
  21. I know complete false economy, I learned about being a tightarse from that.
  22. I looked very closely at your rears jaffa but they're bigger than I was looking at for the front!
  23. I have been trawling the forum reading brake advice, and most people say well maintained standard ones are fine. However I bought some of those MTEC Ebay discs with 30 quid Brembo pads (all new parts) fitted with new ss lines and dot 4 and they have failed dangerously. I'm no lunatic in my car but in a couple of months they warped and the braking shudder is so bad I can't describe it. You can see the entire car shaking inch side to side at at an awful frequency even under lightish braking. Avoid.
