How many of you got the zed out today?
Did have a quick blast brand new drilled discs Brembo pads stainless lines and new dot 4 fluid I put in yesterday. Drives a treat.

What the hell is with the parts market for the z32
Well mine gets a good showing off 10,000 miles in under a year and it proudly drove to and from the track day, where I must say it did very well even if it is a LWB Targa. More track time to follow. - - - Updated - - - And I must say I don't think I've ever seen a scooby drive home from a track day!

Happy Birthday lil Stevie
Happy birthday! If you guys want to do a short notice zed meet today the sun is out :-)

is there something up with my engine? vid attached
Mine is exactly the same, no cats and big exhausts make these cars put out a huge amount of condensation. Mine was spitting out little black balls of soot too they left a little heap on the drive, I had slightly overfilled the oil and it just spat it out. I was beside myself thinking it was gona die but it just sorted itself and drives strong as an ox, and I did the turbo seal check of kicking its arse for a few miles then letting it tick over for 5 mins and it passed.

Wheels
Hi Mark, I have always liked the white ones you have, can I have first dibs if you are getting rid if them please. My car is lowered not that far, on miester Rs and has 245 17s atm using spacers so I'm sure they will fit fine right? I am no expert. How much would you want for them if you are selling?

Anyone seen this?
Manual boost control but no chip mentioned, he talks about it being fast and rwd etc. I bet he has turned the boost up and clashed it about. I quite like the look of the car but shame about the bad paint matches.

Happy Birthday Harby300
Happy birthday mate!

2 Way Diff
What are the signs of a tired diff? Am I right that a standard one is viscous? It's not an open diff because mine spins both wheels I'm doing elevens not ones.

Turbo unit?
I had a look on a US forum and they swear by power figures calculated from voltage at the MAF and it's either 5 or .5 volts maximum and that is where that 500 figure came from. And Noz, I must apologise for the wobble I had where I was scared of the car and annoyed at clutch slip. It has stopped slipping and it is rapid, smooth and has such a rush at the top end. It is class :-) I blame the snow and ice following my collection of the car.
-
Turbo unit?
I don't, you will have to ask Noz, he has a few long long threads about max safe boost and injector duty and there are graphs and all sorts. My brief to him was fast without exploding please and he came back with that. He asked what turbos they were and was pleasantly surprised, but assured me the car is not on the raggedy edge. We think the Selin dual filter and MAF Hardpipes and the straight through 3inch exhaust has just made a really easy breathing engine.
-
Turbo unit?
Mine were just made on a good day, for whatever reason they are just really fit turbos.
-
Turbo unit?
Mines an auto turbo manual box at 17psi it makes 430bhp and is at full boost from 3500rpm. Turbonoz mapping and just bolt ons. Absolutely rapid.

Not running properly
Running on 5 won't do it any good but I wouldn't worry too much it's not Gona kill it in a drive. I am no expert but you will be flooding a cylinder if it's not getting a spark. And to a minor extent your putting unbalanced forces through the rotating parts.
-
Not running properly
A car running a cylinder short usually has a rhythmic kick with a drop in engine tone. A zed drives surprisingly well on 5 cylinders as it's still a 2.5l 5 cylinder but if you tried to accelerate it would feel unhappy about it and the revs would climb very sluggishly. If you look listen and feel the engine under the bonnet try to feel the kick. But the proof is by removing the coil packs (or on other engines the HT leads) and if one doesn't make it worse that cylinder isn't working.

Focus RS
It would be easier to drive especially in the wet on a narrow road, if you had a race in those conditions to keep up you would be working a lot harder and for me the zed would be more rewarding. On a track a lightly tuned zed would probably match one. All imo never driven an rs.

New power means new brakes and clutch required
Thanks for all the advice guys sorry for the delay didn't spot the replies. I have manned up a bit and come to terms with the power, I got home and had a week of snow ice rain grit fog and shitty roads. What also didn't help is I had a scare with a speed camera I entered a 30zone slowing down but entered the zone at 37 then saw the van. I wasn't flying around at the time but I've just finished the 14 day sweat. Noz I know you are joking but I am grateful mate the car is so much sweeter smoother and of course powerful.

decent clutch
I'm in the same position mate I'm not paying silly money for that purple clutch sandwich. 111Martin111 recommended the f1 Ebay clutches but I found a thread saying paddle clutches bite far too hard. There are a lot of powerful cars on here I'm Gona listen to a few more opinions but liked the look of the f1 clutch.

Dan if you're still coming to the zed meet on the 16th Ill pick you up if you like. My zed is in bishop the meet is almost certainly Gona be south and I'm coming from Alnwick so ill pick you up on the way past. I need to be back up north on the night so it's not out of my way to run you back either.

meet in Feb
Yeah well up for it just no further south than Middlesbrough if possible, doesn't have to be coastal does it just somewhere we can have a drink because it will likely be chucking it down, then we can scurry to our cars and go round the block.

meet in Feb
I had mine from 60000 to 144000 miles, I never changed gear below 5 thousand rpm and it never went wrong once. It wasn't slow by any means did really well for itself on the two track days I did in it. The zed is faster obviously might even handle better it's hard to say they are very different machines but I really loved my mx5, I would have another one. The thing with the mx5 was you could wring it's neck in every gear and it felt quick but you were rarely above 90 the zed you have to work hard scanning for potholes or puddles and police because if you put power on in third or above you are at go to jail speed almost straight away.

meet in Feb
Best car I've ever had, I like the 1.6 over the 1.8 smoother engine, mine was a mk 2.5, I've driven the mk1 and they are very good also but I think they feel more like the old car that they are, whereas the 2 and 2.5 feel just perfect slick and sporty.

You are welcome to have a passenger ride in mine, but I have to warn you if you do that you will buy one.

Hi mate, this forum is really good but unfortunately good garages up here are thin on the ground. Zedworld and Noz are miles away, I used Evotune Durham and he was quite good but isn't really a Nissan man. I've thought about revolution near the metro but they do scoobys really. I was warned off falcon engineering. Zeds are a right laugh but have a lot of problems, admiral gave me a good price for insurance.
