  1. Cool I like that answer it's £800 cheaper than saying I need four, to my mind if I did that it would be a good idea to put the bigger fronts in the back but I spose there would be handbrake issues.
  2. Hello, I did have a search before asking in a new thread but got a bit lost in all the tech. Basically my new power means the clutch is slipping and the brakes were already a bit tired after my track day, they're fine for the road but I wouldn't do another track day on them. The car has stock brakes but an uprated clutch fitted by zedworld, unknown make. Who makes a good clutch is anyone selling one? I had a look on Japspeed but they didn't really have what I was looking for. I don't want an on off switch but need a stronger one. And brakes, the D1 ones look good but cost a lot for just fronts or just rears. Will it ruin the balance putting big brakes on the fronts not the back? Can you fit the fronts on the back? On a side note, I have realised I really don't need the power I have but really really need the brakes, I'm not even sure I like the power I worry too much on the road, Gona get a lot more track time in. Thanks in advance.
  3. Sounds like a good idea to me, always nice to see someones pride and joy, be it in a calendar or in a car of the month competition. Might inspire me to replace my front bumper too.
  4. I would like to cart but as I say will be dependent on when I can get away from work, 10am normally.
  5. I know it's not quite the same but I put two of these on my mx5 and it made a hell of a difference. Both under car chassis braces one front one back, stopped the car shuddering like hell if I dropped a back wheel into a pothole. Cornering was hard to say perhaps a bit more eager to turn and responsive cant remember now but certainly less rattly and shuddery.
  6. Would someone be able to tell me what the x pipe is all about? Is it just for the sound or performance too, I have also heard of y pipes I think? I don't have either but I do have a 3 inch janspeed that sounds quite good, a smoother warble rather than a v8 blub blub blub. Last time I heard it from outside at full chat I sounded like Omaha beach or anti lag but that should be sorted now.
  7. Happy Birthday have a great day!
  8. And Sunderland has some very good karing, the outdoor one karting north east.
  9. The RAF Boulmer one I will work on for the summer, have a word with the Sqn Ldr before we get too excited. This coming one though I will come but may be a tad late because I'm coming off shift at 10am up at Boulmer so York would be quite a way but not impossible.
  10. Whereupon = wheelspin, added to dictionary :-)
  11. Morning, I'm no guru like some of the guys but imo, that all depends on a lot of stuff, clutch and flywheel types, power and torque of your car and surface conditions. Any car should pull away like that if you're gentle enough, but all of mine have felt happier with some power. If you have a harsh or powerful clutch it will be more difficult to not have it chug a bit. A light flywheel will make it harder to do and perhaps even your idle speed and balance will come into play. With the whereupon yours sounds about right, my rule of thumb for damp is first second third will spin, and fourth and fifth might at higher power. I have Vietnamese pirrelos you have awesome pirrelis which will be harder to spin. Tyre pressures, the big thing I found following a slow puncture is it became a spiny bugger if the pressures at the back weren't symmetrical, within reason a bit soft should give dry grip but a bit hard should give you better water clearance. But different side to side and mine spun up in fifth on the motorway. Hope this helps, you're probably worrying about your pride and joy it's probably fine :-)
  12. Happy birthday :thumbup1:

  14. Technical question guys, I'm bored at work wondering. Why was the car running rich, it's getting sorted now but things it could have been to my understanding. Boost leak after the MAF or the eprom chip not working or the exit being wierd??? What do the O2 sensors do if they don't fiddle with the mixture? Just to further my understanding of how these things work. Thanks in advance.
  15. FAST! but I think they are beautiful left alone, too much of a fat back side on it, these are gorgeous the orange one at the bottom :-) http://carsneverdie2.blogspot.co.uk/2011/01/nissan-datsun-fairlady-240z-japan.html
  16. Fantastic, thanks mate. The guy that rolling roaded it was an evo tuner and said he would need me to get a new ecu for him to work on it. this is far better, can't wait.
  17. Sorry read your other post 2 days that's fine, would you be able to have it a bit longer I may have to drop it in go to work for a bit then come back.
  18. Don't think I have ever heard that is that at full power. I just heard the sound of a 2.8 turbo technics Capri spitting out it's piston rings then. I think it will be an 8 bit ecu with a zedworld eprom and the £250 remap looks right, don't suppose I need the nistune thing. How long do you need the car I work random shift runs but I'm free this week? Road test in the snow permitting.
  19. Oh dear, well I've driven quite a lot with it like that I will get it sorted immediately it worries me I did 120 track miles like that. I heard my Capri detonate it was like a gentle dry cough noise with a shudder rev wobble and shit out the exhaust but that was fatal engine detonation. My knock sensor is bypassed which makes things worse. Noz will you remap it if I bring it down to Leicester?
  20. It had one Apexi and MAF on the end of the t piece. Now it has two apexis and mafs on two 90 degree silicon elbows. Should I just try average mode???
  21. I will scrape the snow off and check but the instructions for the Selin thing were fairly to the point and I think it said "two settings one will kill your car use add." But I may have been an idiot and got it wrong. The chip, I dropped it in at zedworld not long after I got it for a load of stuff but basically wanted a good look over and the chip for added boost using boost jets, so it's the zedworld eprom. I have since had it ebc-d and dynod. So who should I see about getting it mapped???
  22. I know, I think it's optimal to have all the lines stay on the page! Lol
