  1. Right, today im fittkng them. What settings shouod I use, I have 2 positions on the front and 3 on the back. I want to feel a difference but dont want to make it too unstable. Any advice greatly appreciated thanks.
  2. I can't remember what make mine is btw but I assume they all have similar features.
  3. You could take it to noz or someone? I don't play with mine but you can make ot boost too slowly or too quickly. Noz was the cheapest but biggest difference I have made to my car. And he can map it while he is at it. If not I think... Gain is how hard it comes on boost Hi and low You will be able to have a few pre set boost maps Warning will just make it flash or beep or something if it goes too high Mine has scramble boost lol never use it but within that ypu can set how much more boost you want for what length of time when you press the button. And it has a valet mode. Basically a password protected safety boost mode to stop friends or garage workers or valets going crackers with your car. Either way good luck mate, let us know how you get on.
  4. Would it look extra classy if, rather than light silver, the bits you haven't fitted yet were sprayed a black???
  5. Looks cool :thumbup1: and that is a really neat install on the charge point.
  6. Haha, nice :thumbup1: - - - Updated - - - Oh yeah forgot to say, his er... wing mirrors are DOPE! :headvswall:
  7. I really thought that was just a made up troll trying to keep the stereotypes going, mainly the "VTEC Yo!" cap on backwards Honda stereotype. I can't believe anyone would put such a long post up (that isn't badly written) just showing themselves to be a tit. I bet it's a 300zx owner that has stirred things up and is sat back giggling. Or if it is a "ricer" (not my favourite term) or some little aggressive Honda kid then lord help us.
  8. I spose the roundabout issue with a racey diff like ones you named above, would be that you get a lot of 'thrust' or traction as both wheels work as a good team and push you forward. Whereas with ours you can spin one wheel without too much difficulty, then that picks up the other one and you have both wheels slipping and oversteer? Good to know we have a good compromise. As long as I can do square corners out of junctions and accelerate in the damp with it scrabbling a bit rather than spinning one wheel then I am happy. I have been in a car that had a unsprung clutch and I assume all the other hardcore tranny stuff, and, yeah, it whined like a touring car and clattered and chattered. I swear I could hear the propshaft banging off the bottom of the car. It was a stripped out wannabe drift, R32 GTST. Harsh! Thanks for all the good advice I will let you know how I get on :-)
  9. Thats a good how to, thanks Gary. And Pete, if the limited slip effect cannot be preserved, does it wear out? I have no experience of a proper mechanical one, but can tell that the zed with its (viscous/torsen????) Diff handles in a totally different way to my open mx5s and capri. I thulought with it being fluid based that it would lose performance in a similar way to a badly maintained auto box.
  10. I know, I have had that scare before, not something you do twice! Thanks jeff :thumbup1:
  11. As my car approaches 70 000 miles (and I've started driving it again in the wheelspinny wet) I think it is time to treat my diff. I have changed the gearbox oil to mt90 and the engine oil is changed all the time. But as far as I know it's 24 year old diff oil. Is it similar to doing the gearbox oil (not too hard) shoud it increase the limited slip effect and is there anything more to it than that? Could someone point me to the good stuff on opie oils? Thanks guys.
  12. I dont know how people manage, mine is high and I catch the arches. Its only after a lot of messing on that it does it rarely rather than all the time as it was.
  13. I thought it was something like that :-) and whatever the numbers say it felt a great car to me.
  14. Mondo, did you get yours dynoed then, wasn't it sold to you as something like "well my evo had 400 and this is faster so it must be 500" lol. I thought yours was pretty fast though tbh.
  15. I have my miester rs set up lovely. They can be as soft as a citroen or make it ride like a shopping trolley!
  16. Good luck today lads, wish I was there. I arse dynoed my car yesterday and it was about a million :-)
  17. Oh dear, better off than on that one, do what I did and get a spoiler that makes your rear view mirror is totally useless!
  18. Haha, and I used to be posted to Shawbury and have spent loads of time in Shrewsbury.
  19. I went on a long drive. I drove out with the HICAS locked and came back with it working. I don't want to be on the fence but they're both good modes lol I have replaced my bushes so it does lock properly and does work probably not far off the way it did in 1990. With it locked, on the greasy wet and cold roads I was on, I had a lot more confidence pushing myself out of corners on the throttle, not big reckless slides, but I often have the steering wheel straight from the apex to the exit just being pushed round by the tail, one wheel slipping a bit the other one looking nervous. This is really tricky to do with the HICAS working, however... it is a lovely feeling with it working to be able to dart through a slalom in 4th say, with the car changing direction like a hammerhead shark. Zeds are wicked :-)
  20. Id be interseted to hear your thoughts on those other cars. I really wanted a z4, boxter or a 944. I know yours are a z3 and I think a 928 or something but how do they compare?
  21. Well good luck mate
  22. Happy Birthday
