  1. Thank you Spiff, glad to know its doable, I'm actually looking forward to tackling them. As you say, stock turbos, stock elbows attaching to 2.5" pipework. Any tips on what make and type to look for? Any further advise would be very much appreciated.
  2. Agreed Mondo, I saw Gary's Zed for the first time at Coventry, it is a fine example indeed.
  3. Come on Russ, makes my crossmember repair seem like a weekend jolly.:lol::lol: Hope you get it sorted soon mate, you deserve it after all your efforts mate.
  4. Mmmm, depending on mileage, I think you should be looking for 160psi plus. As for no' 6? I believe this is very vulnerable due to overheating and could be quite serious. However, having said that, what conditions were you testing at? ie engine temp' etc.
  5. Over the winter I hope to remove both down pipe elbows, can anyone point me to a thread that may have covered this please? (Hopefully with pictures) I hear it can be done with the engine and gearbox still in situ, albeit a bit of a pain. Secondly, can someone advise me as to the correct aftermarket decat elbows to go for? I have stock turbos attaching to Japspeed downpipes that I would ideally need to keep.
  6. Good to hear you have found your issue, it's always a good feeling when you solve a problem.
  7. Cheers Phutumsch.. :thumbup1: I will pull one of my sidelights tomorrow and measure the depth to see if the T10 LED will fit. Will I need to be concerned about heat if they are close to the lense?
  8. Mmmm puzzling. Can you try it again on the Triumph? The only reason I say that is that it may have developed a fault since. (the strobe that is) Also, as Andy says, try the timing loop (a little loop of black wire to the right of the PTU, clamp closed)
  9. Check and clean your connections, make sure you are getting a good earth. Maybe try several connection points?
  10. Can you rest the pick up at the back of the coil pack? The further down the better. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?152683-Timing-light-tech-help&highlight=timing+light
  11. Can't help but notice, but since I have sorted my dipped beam, my side lights look very yellow by comparison. Any suggestions as to how I can bring them up to the same white brightness?
  12. Not only has my electrical repair work restored the function of my Dim-Dip, it has transformed the brightness of my dipped beam immeasurably! Unbelievably bright, I can now really appreciate my recent head light refurb. Must have been suffering from poor connections throughout for a while.
  13. All things considered, if it was me, I would push for a full refund. I just would not be able to rest my mind knowing that for some strange reason, a perfectly presented car has had it's original VIN no' ground off, and in such a shoddy way as well. Just not for me I'm afraid. I don't envy you at all.
  14. Jesus! Looks like a barn find.
  15. You lucky thing, mind you, you deserve it after the torrid time you had with your previous Zed mate. Looking forward to the new re build.
  16. Hats off to you mate, stick at it.:bow:
  17. Maybe a convoy to the autobahn?
  18. Still have not done a boost leak test yet, a bit side tracked with replacing my front cross member. I will hope to leak test shortly. In the mean time, I have a question.... I have a uk tt, do I have ceramic catalytic converters in both turbo elbows? The reason I ask is that when I grounded her, I am concerned that I may have damaged them in some way, which in turn has affected boost in some way. Possible?
  19. Great news mate, welcome back. I know what you have been through, having done similar myself with regards to the dreaded tin worm.
  20. ^^ Same as above.
  21. Very magnanimous, all things considered.
