  1. Mmmm, the lower wattage seems to bring the brightness down. But still Bluuuuuue! :surrender: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121781352596?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=420773069323&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  2. Thanks mate. These are supposedly CREE LED bulbs, but I have my doubts. Soooo Blue!
  3. As you say, it does seem to be a bit hit and miss mate. Thanks for the link, I will have a peep. In the mean time, I will fit some other LED bulbs that arrived yesterday. Fingers crossed.
  4. Would the MOT tester you used be able to help? May breach data protection I guess. Did you ever take it to Jeff or the like?
  5. Impressive! As Gary says, keep the updates coming.
  6. I just can't settle with the current LED bulbs, just too Blue! I think if they had been a pure white I would have been happy. Popped in some filament bulbs in with a higher wattage just to see the difference, better, but still not happy. Still too yellowy.
  7. Sounds promising mate. :thumbup1:
  8. Side light bulbs finally arrived today, problem is, I think they are too bright. I was hoping to match the brightness with the headlights, but looks like I have gone too far the other way. Or is that just the consequence of pairing LED with Filament? Thoughts..
  9. Tempted to remove the existing downpipe and remove the catalytic material and re fit it. Gives me a chance to see if there is any damage elsewhere also. Long term though, I really do want to get a decent set of downpipes and test pipes that will marry up with my existing Mongoose back section. Would even be happy to consider changing the complete system if it meant that I could find the right one.
  10. Thanks for clarifying that Andrew, I had heard that this might be the case, but was unsure. Coincidently, this was the side I grounded accidently on a high kerb, could this have been damaged/disturbed? Out of curiosity, would this explain the difference between not only the O2 readings but also the exhaust note at idle?
  11. Richie, thanks for your continued help, I think I am beginning to understand things now. Bloody minefield. Would a resonator give me a better sound?
  12. From what I can see, they do appear to be parallel to the ground.
  13. Hi Steven, UK model, 1992 lwb
  14. Richie, There does seem to be a slight difference between the second picture of the test pipe you posted and mine. My one doesn't have a bulged section at the joint to the rear section. Please see photo 1. At least we can confirm that they have the 90' flange though.
  15. Hopefully these pictures may shed some light.
  16. I think he has the lower picture Richie provided mated to the stock elbows. The upper picture is what I have as a complete assembly, you can't intermix those because of the 45' flange. This is why we need some pictures to establish exactly what's fitted. Agreed Steven, I am 99% certain that mine are as you say, the second picture. Thanks for posting Richie. :thumbup1:
  17. Thanks Steven, I think I get the idea now. So I need a 90' to 45' down pipe to mate up with a 45' test pipe? Just need to be sure that it connects with the existing rear section okay. I fear the worst somehow.
  18. I can't profess that I understand at all really if I was honest, is the 90' flange at end of the stock down pipe and at 45' on non stock? hence the mismatch? A sketch would be great! I cant afford to get this wrong.
  19. Not sure if I have ordered the right ones mind, but went with these. Should be here tomorrow. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262403962124?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=561200824782&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT On a separate note.. When driving to work this morning, I had people flash me thinking I was on high beam!:lol: My dipped beam is so bright now, remarkable difference. :nana2:(yes, they are set to the right height before anyone asks .) If it dry tomorrow night I shall be venturing out into the country for a real test. :shuriken:
  20. Would something like this be the matching setup to connect to my existing system? Still trying to understand what fits with what. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Turbo-Down-Pipe-Test-Pipe-4-Bolts-300ZX-Z32-Fairlady-Twin-Turbo-90-96-/391346353365?hash=item5b1e0f74d5:g:x1sAAOxy63FS6BWH
  21. Cheers Richie K. That's the sort of thing I am looking for. I need a 4 bolt configuration at the turbo and a 3 bolt at the pipe. (I believe)
  22. Thanks again Steven, I will post some pictures. As for the elbows, they are the original cast iron type with catalytic material inside. (apologies for my incorrect initial description.)
  23. Hi Steven, correct, I'm very keen on swapping out the original old down pipes for something more performance related. As for the japspeed pipes, I haven't any idea as to what the are from mind. I would be interested in knowing what is the best thing to do now, especially as I am not happy about possibly having a none turbo exhaust system. Can't be helping things, can it?
