  1. You are right Steven, definately worth a boost leak test just to be sure I have sealed everything off correctly. - - - Updated - - - As you say Russ, I have disconnected so many pipes and clips I could have easily missed 1 or 2.
  2. Cheers mate, as you say, hopefully see you Sunday.
  3. Thanks again Lymon, your advice is very much appreciated. I will run Data-Scan tomorrow and check for error codes as you suggest.
  4. Hi Lymon, Yes, boost does go past zero. In fact I can achieve reasonable boost, it's just that in is noticeably slow to respond. Prior to my little accident, it was nigh on impossible to keep the car out of boost. Now I have to drive her a lot harder to even generate boost, as if I am only charging pressure on one turbo. Would this be possible?
  5. Impressive work there Russ. It's a shame I won't get to meet you at Coventry. Good luck with the re build mate.
  6. I think I may have a fault with my left hand side turbo, (as I sit in the car) I think it is not boosting for some strange reason. I suspect that I may have disturbed/damaged something when I grounded the car accidently, catching the left hand side down pipe. Is it possible to easily isolate each turbo at a time so as to see the function of each one individually? It's definitely not responding as she used to. Thanks in advance..
  7. I am now the proud owner of a MOT certificate with no advisories!:dance::D What a relief. Note to self... Dont leave it so late next time. :blushing:
  8. Thanks Richie K. That means a lot..:thumbup1:
  9. Tad-Dah.. Never thought I would get there at times, here she is finally back together. Just started to give her a wash before the first big day (MOT) of her 2 big days this weekend. Roll on 10:00 am. :sweatdrop::sweatdrop:
  10. That's great Pete, thank you. :thumbup1: Just got to get her finished off tonight and through the MOT tomorrow. See you Sunday all being well.
  11. My engine cover is missing completely, and the ones either side are, let's say, completely knackered.
  12. I take you point Joel, I will give it some serious thought mate.
  13. Hi Pete, that's very good of you mate. Without committing, would you be happy to bring it along on Sunday? Can you give me a price also please?
  14. I will try and get her finished tonight, that way I will have Friday afternoon to double check things. Note to self, must remember to fill the washer bottle up. Looking forward to speaking with you Saturday. As for admiring my handy work, most of it is either out of site or covered in corrosion protection I'm afraid. :blushing: Mind you, I do not have an under tray to fit, so some areas will be visible I guess.
  15. Cheers mate.. :thumbup1: Just got to re fit the front end, replenish the coolant and try and get my flat batter to take a charge. :whistling: Hopefully without any running issues. :clover: After that it is the MOT Saturday, fingers crossed. Simples. See you Sunday.
  16. Result! After loosely fitting the sway bar and the tensioner rod brackets, I then offered up the tensioner rods, I was amazed at how very little effort it took for everything to line up. Relieved or what! looks like all of my hard work has paid off. Just need to double check that everything is tight, and once on the ground remember to tighten up the tensioner rod bushes. Once that is done, it will be a little more corrosion protection and on with the front end.
  17. Do you mean the rear brake lights? If so, check the switch at the brake pedal, could be stuck on.
  18. So true Russ, I have left them off untill the last minute as they gave me better access for fitting everything else. Just hope I can get everything to line up without too much trouble.
  19. Booked the MOT for this Saturday morning. I know, a bit last minute bearing in mind it is the Coventry AGM the following day. With a bit of luck, I might even make the trip over to the shin dig the night before. Fingers crossed.
  20. So true, I have learnt so much along the way.
  21. Note to self... :pinch: Next time remember to route the bl**dy Maf cable before assembling the entire front end. :censored: Tucked it out of harm's way during the repair work and forgot all about it, nightmare. :whistling::taz: Still, no harm done, just had to strip the thing back again..
  22. Cheers mate, it's been a journey in more ways than one. Just hope she runs okay after all the efforts.
  23. I meant to say, before I fitted the main rad I jet washed it through the cooling fins, the amount of road grit that came out really did surprise me. Worth doing on a regular basis having seen the amount that came out.
  24. Sorry for the lack of stage pictures this time, I just got my head down and had nearly refitted every thing before I realised how far I had gone. May have got a bit carried away with the anti corrosion spray also. Still, at least it won't go rusty again in a hurry. Hopefully when it comes to fitting the tension rods things will continue to go as well.
  25. Thanks mate.. :thumbup1:
