Words fail me - that looks just awful - If I saw that in the streets I'd just fall over laughing and so would Kirstie! We'd both send it in to Top Gear as well. Looks like the Viper out of BattleStar Galactica!!!!! Really spoilt the car as it looks OK otherwise. Can imagine someone going to buy it.... 'Yes its very nice but I'll have to offer you £500 less as I'll have to get rid of that stupid exhaust and buy a new rear bumper!"
  2. Maybe there is a grommet missing in the arch to the inner of the car somewhere allowing water to get in.
  3. If your front tyres are 225 50 16 then really they should be on 32 - 33 psi I understand what you mean about the understeer if the pressure is too low though.
  4. On stock wheels thats too much at the front. Your wheels will wear out in the middle and I'll bet the steering is nice and light as well....
  5. I set mine as 32 front 34 rear but mines an import so has 225's all round....Most garages get the pressure wrong coz they assume all 300's are UK spec and the rear tyres are bigger on them so set the pressure wrong..... Getting them right makes a world of difference.
  6. I'm guessing that he means that the water is best cooled through the heart of the rad using the fins that the air passes over - the bigger the end tanks the more water thats held not really being cooled down and so is inefficient at its job - thinner end tanks means less standing hot water not being cooled down. A good theory if I'm reading it right.
  7. I've got the Ferodo DS2000 series pads on mine and they are spot on - low dust and great stopping at all speeds. Similar price to the EBC pads.
  8. I thought as temp increased the slip on the coupling decreased and so it would make the fan turn faster increasing airflow - so when going fast you get a lower temp so the fan spins with less force as opposed to when idling and the temp increases so the fan spins faster as the coupling grips and draws in more air. Are you checking it coz you suspect its bust? Phone Nissan parts up and run it by them and see what they say. Middlehurst 01744 26681 are good. Your local dealer arnt they?
  9. I've got a set of IK20 Denso Iridiums in mine and they are good plugs.
  10. Some people swear by a bir of ATF in the oil to clean the crap out of it - but be prepared to dump the oil and filter pronto if you do it. It can cause leaks by cleaning the engine too well though.....
  11. I cant enter this compo as I've had 2 Opel Manta GTE's and one 200sx 1.8 Turbo before the Zed.
  12. have alook at tt.net I think ther is a write up there.
  13. You need to remove the side light panel - then you can access the bolts for the fog lamp - The screw you turned is for aiming the beam.
  14. Did you get a battery suited to the Zed? It needs a big battery to run it. When the Air con comes on the revs will rise to compensate - thats normal - If its always at 600 the base idle may need to be adjusted as it should be 750 ish.
  15. siphon some out and keep it sealed - see if anyone knows how to get it tested....Try some Octane booster.
  16. Sounds like air in the system - try to bleed it and see if that helps. Otherwise you may have a leak somewhere.
  17. Thats what you use but they are prone to breaking.
  18. You could say that there was a car behind and you thought it safer to go through than brake hard and cause an accident. You are allowed some leeway on that count.
  19. Already drained and flushed it and refilled it with antifreeze - which is why I'm getting some leaks now!
  20. are the jubilee clips best to replace with?
  21. how much water is going to come pouring out if I pull them off to change them?
  22. I've got a bit of a leak on one of the heater matrix pipes from the engine bay to the back of the matrix - I managed to get a socket onto the screw to tighten it up but I dont think thats done the trick - is is an easy hose to get hold of and is it worth changing the Nissan clips for jubilee clips for better clamping effectiveness?
  23. Mine has one too and its Jap Spec - Certainly looked standard to me as it originally had the Nissan Stock filter box in and when I rmoved a few months ago the splash guard was a stock one and connected to the bottom of the filter box. Perhaps if people have had work done on that part of the car and the bumper or filter box has been removed its been ripped out and not replaced.
  24. I have no complaints - I think its a cracking box.
