take the caliper off and clean it up with some brake cleaner and see if you can loosen up the pistons and free it up. If not you may need to pull the pistons out and replace all the seals and clean it up internally..... If not then its a new caliper.
  2. I'm not aware of any head gasket problems on the 300 of any year.
  3. Ah bugger - its jammed again.
  4. Hang on I'll be back in a minute - I need to fill it back up - dont move!
  5. This is something I need to do - I couldnt find the bolts to undo to get the headlights out - I had the indicators out but couldnt work out which ones to undo - any tips? How long did each side take you to get out?
  6. If it passed its SVA and its MOT then I dont see how they can do anything. Are the letters standard size compared to other import registration plates?
  7. Erk! The rear of that car looks god awful. More like an old Honda Integra. Blech!
  8. OK - check the TPS for proper adjustment and smooth movement through its range with a voltmeter. When adjusted properly it should read between x and y volts. Adjust the switch based on the throttle position - you will notice that at rest it will read a set value and then as you move the throttle it will suddenly jump up - try and get the gap between the low and high reading as small as possible - it uses this as the reading of the car being at idle to acceleration. Too big a gap causes the auto box to change in odd ways. I think this is more important to get right for auto's as the sensor feeds the transmission - I found that simply 'getting it in the right range' wasnt enough - it could cause the box to change down before you took your foot off the pedal - say 1 cm before idle position so be as accurate as you can with the adjustment and base it on the change in value before you check the voltage it ends up at - if its then in the right range the sensor is probably OK to use unless its not smooth in the voltage change that is. about 3/4 of the way down http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/hes...hesitation.html Second - there are two throttle cables under your bonnet - You need to adjust one of them to make sure it has approx 2mm of free play - this can also affect the shift pattern of the box and make it hesitant and also make it violent. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/throttle/throttle.html Then Clean your throttle bodies. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/tb/tb.html Good luck.
  9. If you lose a screw I found a good replacement - its a screw that you use to build computers with - one that locates the hard drives and cdrom drives into the cage. Its got a small phillips head and is fairly flat. I can post a picture of one if you need it!
  10. Nar - thats a gurgling sound by the front wheel.
  11. Yeah - 600kms to Luton and back home on one tank full of juice. Was empty when I got back but no light on. I get mega mileage when I'm on the motorway - normal to work and back is 360 - 400 kms for a tank.
  12. It has been known for the 0 weight oil to be a bit thin sometimes. It can leak a bit more than usual and may be a bit noisier as well. Some cars are fine with it - You can but try and see.
  13. I've had 600kms from a full tank of fuel.
  14. I've noticed this as well - dunno what it might be tho.
  15. Not unless you prefer Optimax or Super Unleaded. Standard is fine if your car doesnt detonate and its not modified too much.
  16. Mine go out on my jspec
  17. This is normal - the box wont change up into the final gear until its warmed up enough - its a safety feature of the box. 15 mins sounds about right - its the same for mine.
  18. Liverpool Victoria wont now do imports - they have changed their policy - Mine states 'Import' on the documents and they have said they will happily keep re-insuring me - its just new business they wont take on. A shame as they where quite good. Direct Line do imports but you need a tracker fitted Same for Tesco.
  19. I'll have to phone Liverpool Victoria up to see if it affects my current insurance with them - Norwich Union do insure imports - I just asked them and they offer it on their website. I've had a quote off them before.
  20. Interesting - I have mine insured with them and double checked it for an import. No problems. I did have to phone up to confirm it - maybe they have changed their policy since then.
  21. That should be fine. Not too thick for winter.
  22. no - they should go out.
  23. You could try a rubber bung of some kind maybe like on a test tube.
  24. All it took was a bit of trial and error. If only I could apply the same to the lottery......I'd be a multi-millionaire. No all u sinners say 3 hail marys and 4 our fathers, and if I catch you round here again - I poke you with a sharp stick.
