Your soul is worth £149217. For your peace of mind, 0% of people have a purer soul than you. Amen. What do I win?

Cold Startup Problems.
I would suspect what used to be called on my Opel Manta as the Auxilliary Air Valve - AAV - it allows more air into the engine on cold startup bu then the ECU sends a signal to it to close when up to temp - We do have one on the Z but I cant remember the exact name for it. Someone might help out on its official name. The car would start but not run consistantly until it was warm, cutting out a lot.

Dash lighting - HICAS & ABS
You could try wrapping some ptfe tape round the thread maybe?

Cold Startup Problems.
Check the temp senso rconnection for dirt - It may also be failing and giving the ECU the wrong readings.

dont think the polarity on a bulb is important ( stand to be corrected) most likely the bulb didnt like being removed and jostled and maybe got dirt or fingerprints on them - I was redoing the earths on mine this weekend - beefed them up and neither buld survived the process.....got a set of 130w bulbs from Halfords for a fiver each and they seem nice and bright. :)

Gatso revenge
Speaking of Wales - after the fiasco of specially targetting the rally people the FIA have put the rally under investigation and may remove it because of what they have done. Idiots. We've just had the speed limits near us changed - they used to be 50 mph to 40mph to 60mph within the space of 1 mile. Now its 50mph 30 mph 40 mph 60 mph. for the same stretch - needless to say people are ignoring them and driving up the bumpers and overtaking people following the new limits....

Baby on the way...
I drive it daily anyway and we have an Almera as our other car! Do I need any Special fittings? Or does the ISO fixing just strap right in with the seat belts?

Hole in exhaust.. MOT failure????
If u patch it then it shouldnt fail. Could it be one of the belts of the accessories at the front of the engine.

Baby on the way...
K - not looking to sell the Z unlike the usual trend - its been way too reliable workhorse and so has anyone fitted a baby seat into theirs and if so how did they do it? I think I'll need to put UK seatbelts into the back though to replace the Jap ones as its an import.

Help - email from abroad offering to buy car
Wonder if this is the recent scam of asking to use your account to place money into it to launder it and then take it all back out again..Nice and clean.

Help - email from abroad offering to buy car
Steer Clear. You'll most likely never see a penny and your car will be gone.

Test drive continues...
That all sounds about right.

Is it true?????
pre cats are different to the normal full ones - they are extra ones - dont ask me how or why as I dont know - just what I heard them called.
-
Is it true?????
The UK cars have pre cats - the Jap ones dont but have the restrictor instead. As is my understanding.

Value please with dicky gearbox
YUK- get the fluid AND the filter inside changed - the filter may be blocked and causing you to lose gears. The fluid should be nice and clear. Brown is a problem. You need to get the box flushed properly as just dumping the fluid only gets part of it out as theres still a fair bit in the convertor.

Am I starting to get big problems?
Matey - ticking will be a sticky lifter - when did you last change the oil - maybe worth considering an engine flush with the next change. That doesnt look like smoke - it looks more like condensation due to the cold weather - it evaporates almost immidiately while smoke wont do that - it will wander off gently and will stink (unless it is doing that) Could be a blocked pcv valve. I'd keep an eye on it as it may just stop doing it. I wouldnt worry about it yet though.

insurance nightmare
Liverpool Victoria do insure imports - I have insurance with them and confirmed import status.....You may have got someone who doesnt realise they do them or they've changed policy since July.
