Nar, its water steam. I think its a turbo coolant pipe thats sprung a leak.

I'm getting steam coming from the area by the brake master cylinder - does anyone know what little buggers of water pipes are in that area? And what type of job is it to get at them? I can hear the pressure escaping but its too dark yet to see whats down there as I havent got my torch! Thanks.

not meaning to hijack the thread - but is there a cure for horribly squeaking windscreen wipers - I've changed them but to no avail!

No, you cant just buy one for your Jap Z - the bulbs are different - Only Nissan or other specialist can get them and they cost about £22 each and are only 55w..... Do a search and do the modification to either the housing or the bulb and then you can buy the H3 spec from Halfords.

Ugh - you have the same filter? Its probably blocked up. Change it ASAP - get one from Nissan - or Halfords do a Champion one or at a push one of there own makes - but change it now - I think you will have to change your oil again to be safe. Flush the engins with Wynns ENGINE FLUSH from Halfords - though you can find that in most places. I find thats quite good. Its complete lunacy to change engine oil and not change the filter, as a) you are restricting the oil flow through the clogged up filter and b) you will contaminate the nice new oil straight away. Any Synthetic 10w xx oil is fine Some people use Castrol Magnatec as well.

Mate - dont pay them to do any of the work - they can tell you anything - Get the price knocked on on the cam belt 60k service and find someone who is backed up by someone on here to do the work. Also get the warranty price knocked off it and sort your own warranty out then you know what you are paying for. And dont part with any cash before you take it out for a test drive - it should fly with now funny noises - if he says 'They are all like that' then there something wrong somewhere as there are virtually no 'odd' driving quirks when this car is running properly. The only thing you may hear when first started up is lifter rattle but it should clear completely within a couple of seconds - thats normal!

Tracking on its own isnt enough - you need to have all 4 wheels aligned by a specialist - My fronts wore on the inside edge until I had mine done - you may find its the caster angle thats out as well.

From nissan they aint cheap - around £8 I think.....but they always have them in stock....Never seen any in Halfords.

I've got a minidisc unit in my car and its given me 5 years trouble free service until now - Its now started to complain about some minidiscs being 'Blank Disc' status when trying to load it up - They work fine on my recording machine which is also a Sony unit - I've tried a lens cleaner by 3M and just given the lens a rub over with some alcohol but to no avail - is it on its way out or are there any adjustments/repairs that can be done to them that isnt dearer than buying a new unit? Ta.

Mines done this on occasion - I think what happens is the speedo spikes and then doesnt get reset back down so just sticks over on the right - the only way mine reset wast o keep driving it and it would drop back eventually. I think its a speed sensor problem

Is your steering wheel centred correctly?

Can you smell fuel when the engine is cold - a common thing to happen is the hoses contract when it gets cold and creates gaps for fule to escape - then as the engine heats up, the pipes expand and the smell goes away - you have to go through all the hose clips and make sure they are all nice and tight. 120 miles is quite bad - I get routinely 150 to a tank driving to work and back and general to and from shop runs. Unless all your journeys are less than 5 mins as it doesnt give the car long enough to warm up and it will drink it like theres no tomorrow...

I've had mine 5 years and 3 months....! Trouble free so far anyway! Most fun I've ever had driving a car.

Buffet dinner at 11am then leave at 1pm.....Nice.
