arte front fog lights a waste of time?
I tend to drive with mine on round country roads just for an extra bit of light - My guilt evaporates when 95% of other cars have badly adjusted lights and blind me! Gits.

Thats why the auto is as good as it is - The smaller turbos compensate for the gearings and the different cam profiles all contribute to gaining performance back from losses etc. Nissan didnt just put smaller turbos on because it was an auto - they did it for a good reason - to lessen spool up times. and give more response.

Coolant loss
I think its time to change the front coolant pipes - Does anyone have prices of the two stubby pipes, the upper and lower pipes and the thermostat? Stock pipes etc will do fine - not bothered about uprated pipes unless the cost is similar. Ta.

Stock for Stock the Auto is faster to a ton than the manual. End of.

Anyone got a job going
Bad luck mate - hope something turns up soon.

Induction kits
Indeed you are correct - pop the centre panel off and you will find the air box - you only need a single kit unless you are planning well over 500bhp but there are electrical mods you need to do when fitting a duel kit.

Coolant loss
I think the two stubby coolant pipes at the front of the engine are showing signs of white deposit around them - I think it might be time to change them and the upper and lower hoses at the same time and see how that goes. Can the two stubby hoses be changed without having to take the assembly off? Although it might be worth doing the thermostat at the same time and then its done with.

Coolant loss
Coolant loss....... This carries on my radiator cap Q but goes in a different difection. OK - if we say that the problem isnt the radiator cap then we must assume I have a leak somewhere that only happens under pressure. Which might explain why the old cap doesnt lose the coolant as its a bit worn out and is preventing pressure build up - The new one may be making the leak more active as its allowing the system to buld up more pressure inside - Also causing it to lose more water..... How then can I check to see where the leak is as it doesnt seem visible while the car is running? Does a pressure test do the trick and if so where can you get these done? Cheers.

Radiator caps
Cant see any problems - the old cap has an old seal on it but seems to fit much better than the new one and I dont lose any coolant with it but I dont like the look of the seal. The new one just doesnt seem to press down into the neck.

Radiator caps
All - is there any difference between uk spec rad caps and jap spec rad caps - I'm trying to get a new one but the uk ones I'm getting dont seem to do the job and have a different cap to the jap spec one. any help would be great. Thanks.

running prob mas?
You may well find water has got into the connector over time and caused corrosion - take the connector apart and clean it up. See if that does it.

Has any one seen my Duffer
Nar - hes too busy - saw him the other week when I got my brake pads. Covered in black oil the scruff. :D

Oil cooler, to be or not to be....
My understanding also is all TT's have one - the import TT has a slightly smaller one that the UK one - Mine definately has one fitted as I put my HKS induction kit in on Friday night and I could see it easily - wasnt aftermarket as it had 'Calsonic' on it which are used by Nissan for exhausts etc.

1st Drive...
I wonder if a belt has come off or snapped - hence the overheating - and the 'thump'. The hicas and overheating is too much of a coincidence.
