  1. Rod, ther is a small phillips screw by the bulb housing - you can earth using that and a piece of wire - do a search - theres loads of write ups on how to di it. You dont need to solder which would be difficult with the light unit in place.
  2. I'm sure your tyres will be fine - the Z just dont work on snow or ice full stop. Tyres are too wide and cant bite through the stuff. Get some Micra tyres or something.
  3. I use hold everyday in traffic or when I dont exactly want to go hurtling round everwherea t top speed. A very nice relaxing drive can be had when using HOLD. Power is good for when you want optimum all the time. It works well.
  4. if you arnt steering the car - ie moving the wheel then the HICAS wont do anything. Welcome to the world of owning a rear wheel drive car and driving it on ice.
  5. If you dont mind wearing the box out then you can do it - you hold the brake down and accelerate - the box hates it but you only do it for a few seconds then let the brake off and off you go. Like I said - its not recommended.
  6. Oh yeah - you will find it hard to get them from Nissan as they stop ordering today over Xmas and new year - Good luck and fingers crossed for you.
  7. Ah - I actually decided against the pipes on the advice of Middlehursts - they are £19 each + vat.......part number is 14053M I have the diagram they faxed over to me - as I was doing them I wish I'd ordered them even if to return them uneeded..... The only tip I can give you is make sure those stubby pipes go back on ALL the way or else you wont be able to mate the engine block and the pipe faces together. I found a bit of fairy liquid worked a treat but it made my water frothy for a while!!!
  8. Having spent yesterday morning replacing my 2 stubby short coolant pipes and changing the thermostat in order to fix my rapidly disappearing coolant - The left hand pipe had a nice big split in it so that all now seems in order - no leaks from the area anyway. I've still got a bubbling sound when I switch off the engine though - I'm hoping this is still a bit of air in the system which will work its way out as I drive the car this week. Any thoughts?
  9. Use some hermatite from halfords - will do the job nicely - just use plenty of it.
  10. could be the diff compensating? Doubt the HICAS would be doing much if you werent moving the steering wheel.
  11. was worth the wait:D
  12. just to add to the numbers - Me and Kirstie would be up for this one!
  13. Seems a simple thing to DIY by making the leads up yourself as well. Couple of hours work at the most.
  14. Good news Mate! Happy Christmas!
  15. the internal timers are well know for not beign the most brilliant - the more you have of them on screen the more they are affected by each other as well..... http://www.visualbasicforum.com/showthread.php?t=35431&highlight=timer will give you a bit more info on the problem....
  16. Can you get small ones - I dont know how much space I'll have to work with in there with the radiator still in!
  17. How hard do I tighten the bolts back up - just a bit over hand tight to nip them up - I dont want to over tighten them and snap the plates! I take it I use sealant on all the metal faces - what do you recommend? Hermatite do?
  18. Thorntons do diabetic chocolate.
  19. I dont like cigs - I find them a bit dry, chocolates fine though.
  20. is that the voice of experience?
  21. I found that the adjustment of the TPS is vital in limiting this effect. Otherwise it does it way before you have your foot off the pedal. Mines adjusted spot on and only shifts down when its a fraction off idle position.
  22. Gonna try doing that this weekend - doing the thermostat, the two stubby soft pipes and the two hard pipes that connect to the engine block in case they are corroding. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for this - mines an auto so I WONT be removing the radiator or I'll have trans fluid everywhere.... Ta.
  23. If you are in top gear then it will shift out of it - shouldnt be that noticeable though.
  24. If he slags the 350Z off and in the tests the 350Z is driven faster than the 300ZX then do you think for one minute he will be nice about the 300Zx or will he slag it off? Your car will probably come back broken somewhere.
  25. Go to Twinturbo.NET - they have an article on how to do it.
