300zx Turbo replacement…. Engine in.
Pull the engine. Whilst it might seem easier to do with the engine in, some of those bolts won’t have been undone, well, ever and a few a pig even with the engine out. Plus the fact that you will find other issues. If you’d had it all out recently and knew what was going on down there, then yes you could do it but I assume you haven’t and you don’t so it’s best to do it properly. It’s no where near as big a drag as you’d first think.

Smoking z32! Z32 Newbie needing help.
Does sound like classic turbo oil seal failure. Check if the exhaust is separated with an X or H pipe, sound like it is. These early Garrets have poor rear oil seals and if the pressure inside the turbo core (crank case pressure) is higher than the pressure in the exhaust the fluid will likely leak. This is why it happens once warm and on idle, sometimes just the aircon being activated is enough to stop/stem it. There’s various reasons for this like poor compression, bad vacuum, exhaust design and even blockages in the turbo drains. Check that the engine vacuum system is working effectively, not only is this functional PCVs but the restrictions in the cam cover tubes. Mine did the same after decat, rebuilt the turbos and they still did it a bit. I then modified the vacuum so that there was more savaging and it’s been golden ever since.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
The use of gender to items is because of the attachment to a god of, the cat god is a lady so cats are hers etc etc. The French have retained this linguist quirk but most of us have dropped it as language evolved, I expect there’s an element of the monotheism of early Christian culture. In English culture we’ve retained it for certain things like boats. Also some regional dialects use it, it’s not uncommon to hear “pass us the she” in this part of the country from the older generation when wanting a tool. So basically the French are stuck in the past ?

Belt squeak, fan?
The PS pump can drip down to the belts and cause slip, have a look but a tighten is likely the solution. I have underdrive pulleys and mine will squeak now and again, usually when there’s an audience.

Beaulieu 2022 photos....
First time I’ve done this event as a Dad and there was minimal moaning. I think she would of spent the whole day in the playground, which was massive and I’d not visited before. I did end up spending a mortgage payment on sweets but that’s days out! ? Good to see some familiar faces, some who haven’t got Z32s anymore too. The traffic getting back across the Forest to Dorset was not so fun…

Mods Declared Insurance Company Recommendations?
What kind of mods do you have? Mines not exactly stock and I’ve not had an issue. Only a few years older than yourself.

Tickets purchased. Car ready. See you guys tomorrow.- What did you do to your zed today?
Took mine out to get some bit last week. 60 mile round trip, which is the furthest it’s been in a while. The fuel useage was pretty scarey on the way there… haha.- Nissan R390 GT1
There’s a white hot wheels version available atm, picked one up the other week.- Simply Japanese 2022 - we have a club stand
Unless something unforeseen happens I will be coming.- What did you do to your zed today?
Yeah. So I basically stopped being employed and continued the same thread of work but had to find my own clients. Massive leap of faith.- What did you do to your zed today?
I hope so. I started my own business this year and I’m super busy, I haven’t actually taxed it yet.- What did you do to your zed today?
MOT passed.- running rich and smoking when warm
I’m afraid that could be a variety of things. As Richard says it could be the mechanical timing is off. To do the belt though, the wiring harness will have been disrupted as would the inlet pipework. It could be as silly as the ECU temp sensor not seated correctly. You’d have to start at the beginning. If you have access to software, it will make things much easier.- What did you do to your zed today?
Didn’t know there were meets at Port Solent.- Brake master cylinder
The reality is I’m afraid it won’t. I’ve got new brakes all round, from a newer car, braided lines and a new BMC and a brace. My brakes are good, they feel ok. The stock BMC is already a big bugger. Compare them to those of a modern hot hatch and they feel different. There are certain parts of the design, such as the ABS being in the boot. Modern cars are engineered to have sharp brakes, they zed and older cars like it have progressive brakes. It’s sort of a trick to make new cars feel like they have better brakes than they do. I bet your Audi is FWD to?- No power steering after HICAS delete
Is the HICAS light on? The float switch connection on the cap can get damaged. If the lights on then either the speed sensor is causing issue or the fluid level isn’t showing properly. It’s got to be something silly if it worked before.- No power steering after HICAS delete
The air in there can be really stubborn, especially if you fully drained the system. I don’t recall making any changes to the wiring on mine, the reason I get the hicas fault light is if the fluid is low. That or when my Speedo used to fail. You have definitely connected the short link correctly?- What did you do to your zed today?
Not today, but last weekend; I pulled the cover off, inflated the tyres to the right pressures and connected the battery. Fired straight up and I pulled her out the garage, swept the dust/leaves away. Hopefully get her taxed in the next couple of weeks.- 1993 TT LWB in Black
Depending on the way those brakes are put together you may find the R33 create very little extra clearance. Quite a few are based around using the 350z disc which is essentially the same set up as the R33 just with a larger mounting bolt and iirc about 10mm of offset.- Exhaust help and opinions
Yeah, there the cat temp sensors. The o2 sensors are in the engine bay.- Rad drain valve.
Does anyone know off hand what thread the lower drain on the aftermarket radiators are? Mine got an issue and before I go down there, I’d rather just have the correct size part to swap over. - Simply Japanese 2022 - we have a club stand
