  1. I have conflicting memories in my head. One part says for polys you are supposed to retain the outter ring. The other, that they sit in there. The top flange is supposed to push the frame away from the body. The rear subframe has lots of anti squat built in and this helps reduce this making the car easier to launch. For the record my car has solid ones.
  2. I’d disconnect the MAF and see if it does it still. Check the TPS as well.
  3. Something worth noting that. I think there’s two different tax brackets for the 370z depending on age, some cheaper than others.
  4. Just to update this. Ive now mot’d the 32. I’ve been and looked at a couple of Z34s and driven one this week which had a remap and an exhaust. About 30k on the clocks and clean. I was quite surprised to find that essentially it just felt like my Z32, to the point that I felt confident very quickly. The driving position is slightly better. It did feel slower but maybe this was a lack of drama if you get me, being NA the power delivery is very different and linear where as my 32 the power comes in hard and fast. So basically yes I like it a lot, because it just feels like home, an updated and more forgiving home. I haven’t managed to drive a Corvette yet but did sit in one and the the LHD thing is a concern, changing gear with the wrong hand I can see being a problem when I use the car so rarely. The thought of trying the grab the door handle in a panic gives me fear. I have the car booked in on the 2nd for some tweaks to the map. Last time it was dynoed it was making 312whp from 4.5k onwards but running AFRs of 10:1. So there’s fuel left of the table. Hopefully get some cold engine drivability and get that boost up to 18psi or so. Once that’s complete I will I put it up and see if I can get what I’m after for it.
  5. Good find. I cannot believe that Nissan went through the expense and aggro of making a washer pump for these cars though. There must be a commonly available part that needs the plug splicing on.
  6. Is it a Renault power train? Many are.
  7. I know exactly what those two plugs are but il be damned if I can find the memory. One is for Air Idle valve, common delete and Nissan themselves removed them on later cars if I remember correctly. The second. I can’t remember but EGR rings a bell.
  8. Yeah the Z4M is a cracking car and a future classic. The LHD thing does bother me but it’s a serious car, a super car in all but badge. I have considered things like TVRs and Caterhams as well but I don’t think it’s what I’m after.
  9. If I had the space I’d just keep it but I’ve only got a smallish single garage, (5m long) and I don’t want to leave cars outside that are not in regular use. I have/had thought about getting a lock up which I could utilise for work and cars but the availability of anything like that in my area is both low and cost prohibitive.
  10. Honestly that would be a serious list! The short runners for what I’d like to realistically own at the moment. C6 Corvette ZO6, Z4M Coupe, 370z Nismo. That’s the three that I’m mulling between really.
  11. Thanks Richard. I’ve had the car nearly 15 years now and it’s an awfully long time to own one toy. And in total honestly whilst I still love the car and will doubtless be gutted to see it go I’d like some other cars. In an ideal world I’d keep it and buy another but I don’t have the space and resources for a Jay Leno style collection 😄 I have short listed a few a may even go through a few of them quite quickly. Who knows. Time for something different.
  12. Thanks guys. As you may have seen in my other post I’m going to be selling up in the near future.
  13. I thought here would be the best place to put this. The journey has to end. I’ve officially decided to sell my car. I haven’t quite decided on when or what exactly il do but it’s time, as a few know I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I’m now decided.
  14. Only above a certain engine size unfortunately.
  15. Oddly enough because the Volvo was three years old we’ve been looking recently. So among many things I test drove the 330e Touring, similar set up and really liked it and the X1 Hybrid which was reasonable. The lead times on both were horrific though, I think the 3 series was about January… I really didn’t like the Merc auto box, which even in the C and CLA models is still a Renault one… in the end we went for the 2 series Grand Coupe as they offered a good deal which is a great mid sized car.
  16. I’ve driven past the dealership and it’s I’ve of those places you can’t tell wether it’s a car sales place or a coffee shop! Fancy stuff. Good to see them selling a Z32. All the best with your adventures Gio.
  17. Well that makes a hell of a lot of sense.
  18. The more I look at the Z35 the more it feels like a Z34.5. ?
  19. Delete them, they look naff and are of no real use. My van has them, I do a considerable amount of driving it it and they don’t help they just make the lights wet you’d need a wiper like on some lorries to actually make the damn things useful.
  20. Gearbox = sourced TT flywheel = sourced Flywheel bolts Pressure plate bolts & washers transmission plates. Worst case make one from tin, easy enough. Propshaft = sourced Clutch booster, lines and vacuum canisters Clutch master New pattern ones are cheap. Clutch slave as above. Clutch lines ZCentre one piece. Clutch pedal Find an NA one, then you won’t need the booster etc. Brake pedal Cut the Auto and fit a new pad. Shifter and linkage Shifter brace 2x rubber shifter boots Shifter boot Shifter boot retainer Shift bushes Gearknob Wiring harness Why?
  21. Basically in the cam cover breather, there’s a brush and a restrictor bush. Check they are in there, that restrictor is what pushes the crank case pressure slightly negative. You can also cut that pipe and install a non return valve. This will put the crank case into negative pressure.
  22. Have you checked the fuel pressure? What condition were the plugs in when removed?
  23. Have you done a boost leak test?
