You can get the YLOD fixed for about 60 quid (up my way) but once its started, it will happen again.. So maybe best you buy a new slimline one - you can buy the console only for about 200 quid now from supermarkets - maybe even less. AND you'll get a warranty - so my advice is - buy a new one. If you can afford a Zed, you can afford as PS3!! (there was one in the items for sale threads a few weeks ago..)

For just the front set I've seen them for about 700 new...

Nope, peanut butter my friend. I would assume peanut oil would work too - but the references were definitely made to peanut butter. I was amazed too.

This guy was obviously not a shrinking violet was he? 8ft wide car and he has to paint the thing canary fookin yellow. A tad too overstated for my liking, but if you painted it a darker colour it would look great. Could well be worth 2.5k (seems too cheap if you ask me..)

It could just be a loose connection. When I had my skyline, I drove for 3 months in bloody winter with no warm air because of a loose connection on my heater solenoid. Imagine how pissed off I was when the guy wiggled the wire and it all started working fine :censored: Loose connection could be in the engine bay somewhere though - so good luck on that one - hope you've got small hands!

A few people have told me that rubbing peanut butter into them rejuvenates them. You may well think that this is a piss take, but I've heard it from a couple of people who are really into detailling their cars. If on the other hand, they are starting to lift and tear, then replacements are probably the best option. 68 quid does seem a little steep...

When you go banger racing proper, you have to put the radiator inside the passenger cell anyway. But I agree the intercoolers would be a problem. Looks like that car was just used for target pratice by those silly yanks in the desert. Wonder if they did the gun ship thing with the mini gun??

It could be the cause - or it could be a smoke screen. My guess is it was the latter. But also sounds like it could be a simple fix - if the problem is intermittent, then obviously it can work properly. I have no experince of boost controllers other than a few cars I test drove - but I would definitely like one :scared:

Ah, nowt a bit of elbow grease won't polish out!! Like those wheels too - old school! All in all, a fine looking machine - nice purchase!

I've got a JDM And it has 3 point rear belts! And the front belts are mounted on the b pillar! And my fuse box has english pictures :lol: But I did want to avoid the tin worm - hence buying an import. Rear bumpers deffo look better - but if you were to resell, you'd just have to explain you fitted a Jap sepc bumper - sorted! Think that the UK cars were generally a higher spec though - so probably more desirable from that point of view. Think the alternator was even an option on Jap zeds - cos they used candles instead of light bulbs!!

That is awesome! I really liked the last shape S3 (4 cylinder), its a shame the s3 always had a rep for being a bit dull - but not with the thick end of 800bhp! It would be even quicker if he didn't try to break the rev limiter in first - my sister drives better than that and she's a girl! Didn't notice any cornering shots - but the way that thing took off in second gear from a rolling start was gobsmacking - how I wish my zed was that fast :drool: Nice find stellaz Just realised - the standing qtr mile time isn't actually that quick for a 4WD 800PS car - thought it would be in the high 8's or low 9's with that spec.

Well, it seems my steel bonnet is quite a rarity! :tt2: But I am in no doubt that the bonnet is heavy - however, in the interests of science, when I finall yget home (and if my car hasn't been posted to Jimmer) I will indeed check with a magnet. Thing is - I remember opening the bonnet pretty much every time I drove the car (sometimes I didn't even get to drive it :crying:) and I remember it feeling, er.. not light. Even I'm beggining to question what it is made of now - but I'll stand by my guns for the time being. It doesn't fit very well either, but this may because my chassis is twisted from the incident which required the bonnet to be replaced!! And the bonnet needs a respray - sounds like the perfect time to replace it to me!!

That is a particularly pretty premium polished plenum. Try saying that with a mouth full of plums! (don't even think about it, I meant plums - as in fruit, you sicko) :tt2:

Put a VW V10 TDi in there - get it chipped to about 600bhp and 800lb/ft of torque, and then laugh like a nutter when you get single figure fuel consumption and it handles like the QE2! :devil2:

sounds like you should take a trip over the A50 to Zed world.. Let them suss whats what with it. Think it costs about 35 quid or thereabouts for a conzult and you will also get the rest of the car looked over

:no::crying: on the bright side - residuals are rising!! One less zed in the world! Going with a bang - didn't look like the demo derby did too much damage - think the fully auto rounds did the most Shoulda used a .50 cal

get the wheel jacked up and check for any loose play in the wheel or suspension - you might be able to feel where something is worn/tired..

Don't worry too much about the body work bud, cars this age do have a few battle scars - if your car was absolutely mint, you'd be too worried to leave it anywhere!! Get it looking respectable and let other people worry about minor imperfections! Welcome to the club - Jap TT's rule - its official!

No disrespect Bob, but your engine is a bit different to a 70k early nineties motor running 50hp+ nos system. You've spent more building your engine than many people have on their entire cars. What will the main problem be if you increase boost more than 1 bar?

A burkha doesn't have to be full-facial, in fact most people wear the more accepted form - when it just covers the hair, neck and shoulders etc. I think people should be allowed to wear what they like (within reason). I don't see how that is trying to make a religious/race row out of it. I agree - religion is a stupid concept to me, but my girlfriend is also a church going do-gooder.
