I won £1000 on one when I turned 18 (1999!)

I'm ready for the little blighters !!!!!
Dip onions in toffee and let them set. Pass these off to the kids as Toffee Apples.

Manifold blowing???
Manifold changing will be an engine out job I suspect. You can just about manage it on an NA with the engine in place (according to a write up on 3zc) but it would be a hell of a lot easier to pull the engine.

strange one!?
Remember the problem I had with the speedo needle going crazy when lights were switched on? Well all that stopped when I removed my speedo convertor a few weeks back and everything has been spot on since. That's why I am suggesting removing the convertor box as he is describing the same symptoms I had after fitting Hids.
-
Any body got any of these?
Just to let you know Stevie, that my sister-in-law has managed to source perspex which is the same colour as the OEM ones you have linked to.

I'd remove the convertor first and see which of your issues remain. Should only take half hour to strip out the clocks and disconnect the convertor.

One for the drifters.....
And more: "SEAMWELDING IS COMPLETE!!!" Father Christmas came early today and dropped a few bits off now that I'd finished the seam welding.... ... See anything you like?? :D Heavy duty Turn-One powersteering pump to replace the pathetic original pump which cost me a season and some Tein track rod ends Whiteline drop links front and rear on top of the new forged Ferrea intake and exhaust valves for the LS3 (new cam, springs and other head ancilliaries to arrive soon) The new Moroso LS350Z oil pan :) You can see one of the four trap doors in the recess. Looks like a really nice bit of kit which came with the oil pickup tube, gasket, braided lines, filter relocation, oil fittings, dipstick and fixings. (I should hopefully be making my own version of this in near future so anyone wanting an LS conversion should be able to get everything from the UK)

working away from home
I've worked at sea for 15 years, and used to spend approx 4 months away from home at a time. Much of that time out of communications range. Patience and understanding on both parts are key. You both have to be fully aware and admit that it's going to be tough initially. But with Skype/email/mobiles etc it's so much easier to keep in regular touch nowadays. make sure financially that it is going to work too. It didn't effect me as I work on a ship and have no outgoings for board and lodge. But I know people who have moved away to work elsewhere in the country and have ended up worse off financially as they have a mortgage at home, rent at their work, and then weekend travel costs on top.

Looking for a favour from a Teessider :)
Yeah, I'm away for another 2 weeks. Crack on without me though :)

Looking for a favour from a Teessider :)
I believe so yeah.

I can give you a run out in an NA. Won't be as balls to the wall as being in with Stevie in his TT though.

How is the weather / high winds where you are now?
Luckily sea sickness isn't something I normally suffer from. Although my old boat was an awful sea boat, and after a 3 day tow in the North Sea I was starting to feel a bit off colour.
-
How is the weather / high winds where you are now?
I reckon they've tricked us all and it's coming from the North. I'm bobbing around off the Fife coast (nr BurntIsland) and it's pishing down, blowing a *******, and thunder and lightening.

Import rear plate size
I'm about 160 miles from my car, so can't measure it myself. What size is the rear number plate on an import? Just about to order a new set of plates, and want to make sure I get the right size rear. Cheers

Any body got any of these?
Stevie - I have just spoken to my sister-in-law and she says she could do a set in 3mm perspex for about £65. We would need an original set to use as a template, or at least use your car to take the correct measurements and make our own templates. Colour can be pretty much whatever you want.

Blue zed shrewsbury
KazaSteve probably.

Any body got any of these?
If Lee wants to loan me his set to use as a template, I'll see what she can do.

Titanium key...
There's a shop in Hartlepool that'll cut them. They charge a wee bit extra for it being Titanium but they will do it.
-
Any body got any of these?
I reckon my sister-in-law could knock a set of these up using her laser cutter and some thin perspex in the right colour. Then just a case of cutting the logo on a vinyl cutter and transfering on.

US exhaust comparison
lol That's what I'm discussing Stevie - which boxes to go for. You can buy Labree boxes on their own ;)

Import tax on things from USA
20% VAT and 3% import duty. Plenty of only calculators that will work it for you. If you get the person filling out the paperwork at the other end to send it as "gift", and it's a small item, it may get through customs without being stopped. It's just a chance you take.

US exhaust comparison
Cheers for that. Much appreciated. The system I have on at the moment is a custom system (about 3rd hand I think). The centre section already has resonators in, so there is no rasp (I think Stevie may be unsure on what rasp is! lol). Yeah Stevie, it's beyond repair. One of the boxes is corroded through underneath, and both weld are shot through on both sides where they meet the boxes. A previous owner has covered this up by using the box from a case of budweiser and some hear wrap tape. *******. I'll toss it up between getting a Labree, or getting a custom made job at AAS in Newcastle. Will just have to compare the prices. I know AAS quality is second to none in the UK, unfortunately you pay for the quality.

central locking
Aye, that's basically the same one I have just in a diff box.

Drop me a PM at any time if my guide isn't overly clear and I will help where I can. the 2 wire actuators are cheap as chips off ebay. You will need the actuator bar with it too (the brass coloured one in my guide) if one isn't in your kit already. What kit did you buy? Does it have everything you are gonna need? (once you buy an actuator)
