Since I've had the Slicky, there has been an annoying whine when in 2nd and 4th. It was suggested it was likely the lower shift boot had came loose. Sure enough, when I looked into it a few weeks ago it had popped off. Placed back on and sound went away. Driving over past few days, sound had came back. I had to take the centre trim out today anyway, so whilst there I investigated the boot again. The lower boot had popped off again. It's slightly misshaped so I've put a couple of dabs of silicone and put it back in place. Hopefully that will hold it in place and save me having to track down a new one. Also the middle boot rubber had a huge split in it. I had some rubber glue in the garage so I did a repair and it's bonded well. Once it's all dry, Ike her out for a drive and see what the noise is like (hopefully gone!) There's some epic wiring bodges on this car: The above was someone attempt at installing a Nokia phone charger. I've removed it all and repaired the wiring. Next on this morning list was to fit the Gaitors I got from Si (Mondo - Hide and Seat). Nothing fancy, but my OEM ones were absolutely rotten. Really pleased with the finished look. Thanks again Si. I'll be getting the knob and hand brake done in the near future. I also changed out the centre stereo surround. The one in the car when I bought it had been sprayed blue, and it was scratched, chipped, and held in in some places with bluetak. How it looks now: The Pioneer stereo single Din is pretty naff to be honest, and it doesn't have a dimmer function, so it's a pain at night and the facia has to be removed. It will be for sale shortly. So now I just need to trace all the wires and neaten them up (I hate messy wiring). The rest of today is concentrating on splitting a set of rear lights for a wee project I was thinking off.

Afternoon folks, A lad over on 350z-uk is attempting to start up a regular monthly meet for Jap cars. Details from him below: Alreet gadgies and bewers! I've been thinking about staging a regular meet to be held every 4 weeks on a Wednesday, starting with the 9th October, in the Metro Retail Park near the Metro Centre. It's a pretty central and well known location with ample parking facilities. There are numerous eateries nearby as well such as: Krispy Kreme Harvester Starbucks McDonalds TGI Friday's So bait, coffees and doughnuts are covered! I reckon a 7.30pm show up time should give people enough time to get home from work and do what they need to do before venturing out. The reasoning for me calling it the Pearl Harbour meet is because there is a regular American Muscle meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Metro Retail Park car park and I think it would be cool if there was a Jap invasion to kick off our first meet. So let me know what you guys think. I think it would be mint if we all meet about a mile away and then convoy in.....it might make for a more realistic invasion! Peace Phil I should be there, depends what time I get back from work in Aberdeen that day. Meets need to be attending. The phrase "if you don't use it, you'll lose it" is very real. People won't go to the effort of organising if people ain't gonna attend. Static meets are the way forward over the winter months, and come the Spring I will be starting a series of drive outs around the area with cars from across the Z car scene.

You can get a tracking number with Royal Mail. Just ask for it to be delivered Recorded Delivery.

As much as that sucks mate, I would say as a seller you have learned a lesson. It doesn't have to cost you anything to post with a tracking number as you simply pass the postage cost onto the buyer. That way you are protected. Way of the world mate - Cover Your Arse.

That's what Im saying with regard to when you see Fezza's and Lambo's going around the Top Gear track and the like yes. In fact, I am pretty sure it is illegal for brake lights to flash at all. Hence why new cars use flashing hazards lights when emergency braking. Basic explanation: EDIT: Apparantly it's not illegal for brake lights to flash. Although I reckon it should be.

Thanks for the confirmation that I ain't losing the plot. I know what you mean Pete. And I do dislike that it is a TT bumper masquerading on an NA. BUT. The whole point of asking, is that I am about to order a Stillen lip. And the NA version of that lip doesn't look great, but the TT one does. Having the TT bumper already, means the stillen lip I like will be a simpler fit.

I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but just in case I am being dense, I wanted to ask first. My Zed is a '95 NA, but I am almost positive that the front nose (or at least the lip) is from a TT as it has the intercooler vents. Could someone confirm either way please as I am about to order some bits from the states ;) Cheers Al

They've had them for sale for a while. Bloody expensive by the time they are in the uk. I'd be tempted to use the how to in FAQ and use Renault Megane boot dampers instead.
