The exterior does nothing for me, but everything looks well done. However....Carbon Fibre exhaust manifolds...no...no it does'nt.

Insurance Value - Purple Haze
Just be careful with the Insured value. Its meaningless unless its a specialist Agreed Value insurance, typically they will require you send proof of value in the form of Photo's and even an Independent valuation before its all agreed. With a regular Insurance policy they only use the Insured value you put as a way of quoting an Insurance price, and if you ever come to actually claim on it then they just look at Market Value (which is obviously very hard to do with the Z, especially a rare late model one like yours).

High Revving on Start
Do you mean on initial start it blips up to 3000rpm, then instantly drops to a more typical cold start rpm of around 1000-1200rpm ? or does it idle at ~3000rpm while in cold start mode ?

Three Sisters Track Attack Sep 18th.
Thanks Pete. I've driven with R888's in a downpour years ago and it was terrifying, but amazing in the dry. My Housemate runs RSR's on his GTR and did Silverstone a few months back on a "damp" track and they performed extremely well. As you say, its really any sort of standing water they have issues with. The RSR's appear to be great value for money as a tyre for track days and occasional weekend dry weather drives.

SWB Cat back exhaust
304SS is just about the cheapest lowest grade of Stainless steel available. It has "Fair" corrosion resitance properties. Its considered "high-end" in the aftermarket automotive scene but in reality its just a very cheap and readily available stainless steel that you will very rarely ever see used within Motorsport for any critical parts. 316SS has comparable mechanical properties to 304SS but has improved corrosion resistance. Its more expensive than 304SS but is more likely to be used in High-end Automotive and various Motorsport applications. 321SS has improved Tensile and Yield Strength and is often used within High-end Automotive and Motorsport applications, particularly for parts expected to see Higher Temperatures. Inconel 625/718 is a Nickel-Chromium based Superalloy used extensively in Motorsport for is far superior mechanical properties at Elevated temperatures. It is however up to 10x the price of SS (depending on thickness) and much harder to get hold of. It is rarely ever seen in general Automotive use. Titanium Grade 2/5 Popular in Motorsport and high-end use for Lower Temperature applications. Less than half the Density of SS, but Pricey. You will also see variations of many of these with extra letters after the name, e.g L denotes lower carbon content for improved weld decay resitance or LCF which denotes Low Cycle Fatigue resitance for parts subjected to repeat stress frequency loads. When it comes to Stainless steel Exhausts rusting after very limited use, its sometimes due to some manufacturers using Ferretic Stainless steel like 409. Its even cheaper than 304SS and will corrode. (A quick magnet test will help identify it).

They will fit all versions (S2 onwards for seat belt location), but yeah that certainly apppers to be a convertible color option. Cant see anyone buying them though.

Whats the difference between an S1 PTU and an S2 PTU?
There is no intended performance or difference in running intended with a S2 PTU. It is purely for reliablity, and even though your S1 PTU is ok it is notoriously unreliable. In fact Nissan did a factory recall on all S! PTU's in the U.S, and replaed with S2 versions.

The NA and TT transmissions are identical externally, including length and starter location and Cross member mount. The difference is in the Bell housing thickness - Essentially the TT bellhousing is ground thinner in places to clear the larger diameter Flywheel, and in turn the spacing for the starter motor differs. For example - To use a NA transmission on a TT you simply need to grind away a few places on the inner bellhousing surface and shim the starter motor 5mm.

HID QUESTIONS, $$$, durability, watt, location, who???
I've used a variety of £30-£100 HID kits, and tbh, without taking them apart to examine the insides they are all much the same. Quality control is often an issue with parts from some chinese/korean suppliers, but I ran a £35 ebay kit for years without issue (before selling the car), your luck may differ. Mine are mounted beneath the headlights, by far the most discreet fitting solution but also the most time consuming to do. Made easier if you decide to take out the heatlights to clean the insides, which is always worth doing. Yep, here is the difference between 4300k and 6000k Apart from the colour difference (the higher the number, the more blue it is), check how much "brighter" the 4300k is.

Powdercoating a sump
yeah no worries from heat distortion, however if you get it shotblasted (which you should to clear off the old paint first), then make sure you have no particles trapped under the baffles afterwards. Flush it out before fitting with a good wash.

Cat Over Temp Sensor
Did you have a misfire (engine feel rough with vibrations) at the time ? if so, more than likely caused by misfire, resulting in un-combusted fuel burning in the Cats. You'll need to trace the fault which could be from the PTU, Coilpack, or any of the connectors and wiring inbetween.
