Fog light install
Does sound like it, at the cabin switch you need that wire, plus a ground and then a wire that taps into your side light circuit which is usually a red/green wire found in many places. At the back of the car use that wire which is your 12v and use it to light up a red bulb in the reverse light chamber - offside, you'll probably have to sever the reverse light wire, white/green i think it is and at mot time just connect that fog wire to that offside chamber, putting in a red 21w bulb of course, swap back once you've got the ticket but that part is up to you. You could use one or more of the stop lights which are already bright enough and red.

Happy Birthday phutumsch
My hilka 'cheap' trolley jack has served me incredibly well over the many many years but it's not low enough at a massive 130mm i think it is and i'm sick of struggling with driving onto blocks, bricks, etc !! So bought and got this one from MachineMart from the wife for my birthday, 80mm entry and very lightweight, nothing else car or Zed related though !! Thanks for the kind well wishes - much appreciated .

Nothing ventured - Blue instrument cluster needles.
The needles and blue smd boards arrived, initially i was disappointed in the daytime and thought scrap this idea but as darkness fell i rigged up again and am now at 50/50 whether to rip out my cluster because i flicked the lights on and i have tremendously full red needles. The reason for blue boards supplied with this kit is for cars apparently with no illumination there, we zedexers have, so it will be a fiddle positioning these locally at the spindle but under the clear diffuser so that not to foul anywhere, i do not want the blue bleeding anywhere else as of course i want to keep the red dial back illumination. Another problem i have early identified is that the kit's needles do not fit on the fuel and temp spindles, they're a tad too large so some tiny amount of adhesive, silicone i thought will be necessary to engage. The longer needles fit perfectly on the larger two dials, so we have a plus there. Anyway, here's a quick bench simulated pic, i think i may be mad to proceed with this but i may not be able to resist the draw of having something a little different that may well look very nice and add to my red/blue theme or it might just die a death very quickly !!

Rare parts thread
Mogsy had one of these fit to his SWB, the one he bought off Baz. I saw it when it was at Dentys before Xmas, not sure if it was ever up and running with a fitted plate in this country though.

Nothing ventured - Blue instrument cluster needles.
My red needles light up very well but this is only because i have spent a lot of time on the cluster and you'll find details if you click below. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?184096-Finally-Happy-with-my-Instrument-Cluster Google images is littered with poorly lit 300ZX red needles compared to our modern daily drives, so i cannot help making work for myself after finding out you can buy blue needles and also with them some small smd blue boards that sit at the spindle, hoping the light strongly shoots down. Next week then i'll be having a play about, i purchased blue because my interior is red and blue but you can buy red needles, so you can illuminate these with the red boards or even get white boards, or buy clear needles and light them up with red boards, or just buy the red boards to light up our oe needles, will the 'new' red needles be better at picking up on the light from the stock cluster illumination ? - you see there are a lot of options/possibilities that i will try to clarify/get across. You can visit the German site below should you wish, i have on order 4 x 61mm and 2 x 31mm needles, 31mm is shorter than stock, may still work, may not but i have ordered 4 x 61mm because i have found out these can be cut down, giving me therefore the two shorter at 42mm or thereabouts for the fuel and temp gauges. The stock red needles for the boost and oil cannot be replaced, my plan is not to touch unless it looks silly and i make them blue somehow, watch this space then . http://www.blauertacho4u.de/stvzo/Tachonadeln/

HID Kit
I didn't doubt that for a second :p.

HID Kit
You'd have to say the origins will be China, there is no 100% guarantee Simon you have got exactly what you ordered, they are just churned out, sellers don't have a clue what they're selling in most cases, you ask them any sort of technical or even a simple question and they're stumped and will offer you a refund to protect their feedback. I have heard they put 55w labels on 35w ballasts.....how would you know - you wouldn't. Think if you ordered 4300k bulbs next, or again - you'd find contentment !!
-
HID Kit
You'll get no light from 8000k, why not just put the factory bulb back in and splodge some dirt inside and then guess where your going :pinch:.

I've seen some retrims, but....
17 bids but by only approx 6 people - surprising how many though are on day release amongst us. Love the below line....................so very true . You will never find another pair like this as I had them done in this colour especially for me!

HID Kit
Could be the bulb that's gone, could be the ballast, you can buy just pairs of both and they're interchangeable so swap over your ballasts and see what happens .

Thread closing.
I must admit my chrome plating, etc, thread as evolved into my build/document thread and consequently i put my updates there instead of the 'what i did.....thread.

Another series 4 difference i never knew about
With postage and me probably having to buy further items to make it all work, i have decided to let it go. If you were local and for £20 i would have it, even if it just lived on a shelf at mine but it wont be anywhere near that. Thank you anyway.

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
No idea Gaz, Simon might be better placed to answer but when you consider this is a 1000 mile a year car if that and not a daily 12,000 per annum car then that wasn't my main concern, if at all. Appearance was key for me and matching throughout and i wanted a dark factory looking trim because i believe this is the way forward. I do have more of the same alcantara, so it's not a big job to replace/repair if need be.

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
You can see on this the cigarette lighter bright white surround and some light going into the ashtray from the other bulb, took a lot of time on this getting it right.... No alarm led or fog light switch in the console anymore at the side of the gear knob, much cleaner looking :cool3:. I have a bit of a red and blue theme going on, can't you tell . Love this retrim, thank you Simon for the last few pieces, took a chance on being different with the alcantara/perforated leather together, got it spot on imo, lovely cosy cabin .

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
Here we go with those promised pics.... It's a pity my matching door cards are not on but you get the idea i'm sure The alcantara trimmed areas on the steering wheel feel superb through the hands . I must admit i totally love the gaitors, etc, you see here in this below pic and the subtly contrasting dark grey stitching. The branding has also worked very well on the alcantara shift .

Another series 4 difference i never knew about
Would you sell that ?

Another series 4 difference i never knew about
I just have a wide open space, do have the 2 x threaded holes in the frame but mine has never had remote opening, don't really know why really and when the dates started for its introduction.

front indicators not working. But rest are..
All your indicator bulbs are the standard filament type ? If not as Andrew says you have one blown or at least one is led type. You have checked the relay you state, this is by the pedals ? If you use led signal bulbs this would be where you'd fit an aftermarket fast flash relay, thus eliminating the oe relays current sensing underload.
