  1. Yes, How freely are they supposed to move, ie move by hand or with the spanner method. They just seem very tight, I think I may have mixed the brackets up, they were numbered but Had to move everything from my works yard to my own garage. If this was the case how to I measure and fix that?
  2. On to better shiny things I decided to work on the turbos. Fully rebuilt turbo's by midland turbo's, new return oil pipes and i'm thinking about buying new water feeds too.
  3. What a day. Big issues with my cam shafts that once assembled they would barley move :( Not sure what's up but when one of the cams is seated in its slot you can easily rock it left to right with it pivoting in the middle. Not sure if my cam shafts are bent or the heads have somehow warped. Anyways I built the full thing up and it looked great until I attempted to spin them just a little to see if they were free and lubricated enough. After a few hours pulling it apart and rebuilding it I just gave up. decided to move onto other places and went into my works yard to use the blasting cabinet. Cleaned up oil tree, both the engine stand brackets and the manifolds.
  4. The cams are fitted but before I go any further can somebody sense check the position of them ? The lower crank is aligned with the dot on the sprocket and the notch prior to fitting the top blocks. I do have a manual but its not to clear what the positioning should be.
  5. Back on my engine build again and the lower intake plenum was fitted after putting it in the blasting cabinet Then the two small front water pipes were fitted aswell as a new water pump and pulleys.
  6. Sump now on secured with new bolts and top water pipe reattached. Next job tonight is to fit the top blocks and cams.
  7. Mine is ply, Did i get mine off you by any chance ?
  8. My boot floor is made from a thicker ply wood, doubt it's oem, but guessing you just use the old one as a template and make your own.
  9. Engine rebuild has begun. Managed to rebuild the bottom end then I noticed I had no gasket sealer to but the sump on.
  10. Big garage workshop space looking very small now with all the spares for my build now stored there.
  11. Can somebody link me to a good gasket sealer. Need something that I can use on the sump and water pipes.
  12. nope, First clue we had was when they moved the eight staff members back to the main building. We used to have a technical inbound team running from that building.
  13. Is it possible to get a new one ? I've seen them in the states but the are all for left hand drive. Mines not in the greatest of conditions and I would prefer a new black carpet for my build.
  14. That's it, The work has given notice to me that they are closing down the yard as it is no longer needed. My zed is complete on the exterior but I've still to rebuild the engine and interior. Already started moving the mass of parts I've collected over the year since we got it back into my new garage but I've now got so much that the zed itself wont fit as yet. Got a lot of sorting out to do before the zed can be shifted and also get the ground works for the new driveway. I've got until the 19th September to get the zed home and I don't have a drive to my garage yet nor space to put it in. lots to do.
  15. Let me know your old email address or username and i can merge your accounts.
  16. see here : https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?159850-Auto-fold-mirror-module&highlight=auto+fold+mirror
  17. You have likely bought a left hand drive version.
  18. I've owned three series four zeds now and none of them had deflectors.
  19. If anyone wants me to make one send me a hi-res pic and i'll post it up.
  20. That's 30 so far, one more to go but its so damn obvious i'm not going to bother with it. Bottom left corner there is a few pipes.
  21. Didn't think anyone would have spotted that one. :)
  22. I'm sure he will be tapping his shoes all the way to heaven as long as he's played his cards right. RIP Buddy
  23. 23 down, I think there is 6 left.
