  1. Your so right there Si, the truth be told though most of the time its actually easier to do a job properly than try and blag a bad one in to a good one. Jimmer I am sure would agree once you have set your own quality level an work ethic and religiously stick to it you find yourself enjoying the experience much more, because you know you have done it right and you know its appreciated and recognised for that fact even more. (oh a bit deep there guys sorry) Jeff
  2. Nothing too exciting here, a usual run of the mill leaking fuel tank in for change, you can clearly see the leak is in the all to common place under the corroded support strap. What though I wondered was your thoughts on the exhaust? its one of those made to measure one`s that are very popular these days and provided they are done well are ok if a little expensive. However this one has had the two rear silencer box brackets bolted directly to the fuel tank? it is one of those moments where you look at something and say no that`s not right :( but, well I dunno really its secure, insulated and not really a very heavy silencer, BUT again it just feels wrong, what do you think??? 3. Dave last logged in 21st but not posted since September so maybe he was shy about a BIG birthday coming up and now its all out!!:D Jeff TT
  4. Not that I know to, saying that the US emission laws are so strict in some states I would not be surprised, however it would mean a totally different ecu. Even the Later 16bit ecu`s are still OBC1, cars fitted with OBC2 can bring on the engine management light when an active sensor fault occurs and usually this also drops the engine into limp home mode, with the exception of lamba sensors where it will bring on the light but not go into limp home. Jeff
  5. Yes plenty in stock can send out soon as you like. Jeff
  6. 16BIT ECU can be chipped but the correct mappings are rare indeed, so much so you would be better off keeping your old auto ecu and having the eprom changed in that, will work fine and there are plenty of mapping options open to you then. Jeff TT
  7. All set at 20th now, ok below some google shots of where we are. Zedworld Unit 46, Sandy Way Amington Ind. Est. Tamworth, Staffs. B77 4DS
  8. Do a Google search for" automatic transmission RE4R03A repair kit" plenty of options, mainly in the US however some "fast road" option kits so take a look at a couple links below then go searching..Good luck http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/RE4R03A_transmission_parts_s/5391.htm http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=2&Category_Code=RE4R03Akits Jeff TT
  9. Come on guys tech party in the chat room.:dance::dance::dance: Jeff TT
  10. Not sure about now by many could not use their zeds earlier this year due to waiting for parts. Jeff
  11. Ecu just arrived been tested now. Jeff
  12. If your serious about owning a zed then get subscribed it will be the best £20 you can spend on a zed in terms of help and advice and much more. Jeff TT
  13. This guy is your man, seems a dab hand with a hammer. Jeff
  14. Yes as Si said they look fine and wearing evenly, the shiney surface looks a bit glazed so as rub over with some glass paper would not hurt. Jeff TT
  15. Yes fully agree, especially the last comment. Jeff TT
  16. Lynda has added bangers in gravy on cobs to the food list now.... Jeff
  17. Try filling them with nitrogen rather than coMpressed air will give more uniform results and less leakage. Jeff TT
  18. Jeff can I take you up on the offer of me sending you the ECU to plug into your emulator? Can get it sent special delivery tomorow. Hopefully we can get this sorted in time for me to come and eat your Pork Cobs! Of course, send away will deal with it for you asap. Jeff
  19. The manufacture of the tyres have no idea what car their product is going to be used and hence give a max load figure on the side wall this is at a set pressure often 50psi or 65 psi the calculation is to simply match the optimim normal road use pressureto the weight of the car the tyres are fitted to. Jimmy the reason why your tyre pressure made had a heating effect they did on the track is a clear indicator they are NOT track tyres hence the manufactures max loading is based on normal road use. Jeff TT
  20. I get asked many times about what the tyre pressure`s should be, now with many zeds running non standard wheels sizes, you need to calculate for each individual tyre/car (zed) combination, follow my guide below and you should be ok. So we know tyre pressures can have a dramatic effect on how your zed steers, gets the power down and reaction to suspension movement, so its very important to get right. 1)So take the max. rated weight and pressure from the tyre wall. It will say something like ????lbs at 50 psi. 2)Then take your zed weight (users manual figure), assume equal weight on all four tyres. 3)With a bit of maths you can work out the % weight you have to the max. of the tyre and from that a % of the max. tyre pressure you should use. Ok I have done a calculation here based on a tyre size 265 x 35 x 19 the max. load per tyre is 1433 lbs at a pressure setting of 50 psi both of these details are shown on the tyre wall. 1) Average zed weight is around 3637lbs. 2) Next the max. single weight of each individual tyre is now multiplied by 4 1433 lbs (max. single weight ) x 4 = 5732 lbs. max. load of all 4 tyres 3) Now the zed kerb weight needs to be shown as a percentage of the max. weight x 4 wheels So the kerb weight of your zed is 3637 lbs. and represents a % of the max. 4 wheel load of 5732 lbs. so take 3637 and divide it by 5732 = 0.634 % so by taking the 63.4% from 100% (max pressure) the resultant figure is 36.6psi That is how you can get an accurate tyre pressure from any tyre fitted on any car and weight of car, of course providing you have the same tyre size all round that's it, if your front tyres are smaller then calculate for them too, adding weight of passengers and big stereo equipment often gets forgotten so when your mates and their luggage is on board add an extra few lbs. Jeff TT
  21. As mentioned above the ecu has no faciolity to illiminate the engine management light when the engine is running, so if your was on and now its not, it just means the connection has at this time is ok. Jeff TT
  22. Yes, the diagnostic system OBC1 is limited in its fault reporting and has no facility to illuminate the engine management light when the engine is running, unlike OBC2 which has this built in, if the engine management light come on when running its either a corrupted chip or an loose/ dodgy soldered connection under the eprom. Jeff
  23. Here you go, remember the Q45 MAF is 90mm against the z32 80mm Jeff TT Q45MAF Wire 1 (White) - Signal Wire 2 (Black) - Ground Wire 3 (White & Black --have seen red and black--) - 12v Power
