  1. Wahoo!!!! your very welcome as is all here :nana2::nana2: Jeff
  2. Hi matey, Ok have some info to fill in the gaps and likely explain what has occured as we keep both invoice records and workshop job sheets on every job it does make it easier. The previous car owner was looking to sell the car and needed to get 12 months MOT on it, we had a look at it and concidered that the rear sills were MOT failure and the front sill required dressing work, cleaning and protecting, a suspension noise and also noisy lifters where diagnosed. The owner explained he was on a very limited budget and could the rear sills be repaired and just primed (not painted) this was done, and also we did express some concern over the rear brake lines and other corrossion together with front impact damage, later (the day of collection) a weeping steel brake pipe had to be replaced. As far as we know his "mate" was doing the MOT and that`s it, from the date you gave as the MOT it was done the a couple days later on a Sunday? and it was sold to you within a few weeks. The issues you have had with the suspension noise and noisy lifters where already there before the sale. It is of any help, we will be happy to inspect to may hopefully calm your concerns and also show you the entire underneath of the car and the options available (FOC of course) Jeff TT
  3. Yes BFO address is cool, always happy to help. Now get subscribed you bad boy!! :D Jeff
  4. Maybe not, a little trick I have done many time is although the plastic barrel piece are handed I have succesfully fitted a passenger one on to the drivers door by removing a small amout of the plastic stop, it does mean the barrel turns a lot further but it does work, no doubt the metal ones could be fitted with a similar modification. Jeff
  5. Well the relay sounds faulty, however the relay coil is energised from an output from the engine ecu, just check that is working, if you mail me your postal address will send you a relay to try before you committ. Jeff
  6. Exactly!! the owner had only seen internet pictures of the bodykit fitted and no idea of the quality, when I showed him the bumper in detail he was very surprised and disapointed in it. To be fair made my job a lot easier in convincing him to NOT go ahead with it, in fact he mentioned that he was in two minds already and later seemed very relieved that we advised him against it. So now only having full service, eprom, big brakes, upgraded clutch, rad and an MOT:D Jeff TT
  7. Well the owner came to the workshop today and I spent over an hour explaining why NOT to fit the kit and thankfully he accepted that this particular car would become a lesser zed if the kit was fitted and so all of the bodywork mods have been cancelled:nana2::nana2::nana2: Jeff TT
  8. Ok so just to remind us of the one owner 19k miles super clean UK mentioned yesterday, a quick picture, I said it was in for service, but I knew it was in for more.... look what has arrived for this top motor........................ please excuse the blurry photo`s I was in shock......pure sacrilege Jeff TT
  9. Ok seen this a few times, unplug the relay and check for live supply at one of the two closest together contacts, if ok link these two closest contacts together with a cable of suitable size. Check power at the pump plug with the ignition on, if ok now then the relay contacts are burnt out if no power you have a cable fault. Jeff TT
  10. The mats are been used as overmats, underneath is the originals. Jeff
  11. Drivers side only unfortunately which as they mean on left hookers is passenger side for us:cry: Jeff TT
  12. Phil the Mileage crown is firmly with yourself and your super example, we have been discussing in the workshop how over the past few months some real gems that have been in storage or similar are cropping up, very odd but interesting all the same.:D Jeff
  13. Yes cool no worries :D Jeff
  14. DaZ: The car is not for sale, in for a service. Damo: If your about tomorrow come and have a look, it even better in the flesh. Richard:Yes I thought it would be good for all to see. Dave Zed: Mmm.. I love the 99 spec lights but here originality rules.( EXCEPT THE EXHAUST) Funky: The arches on the white one are terrible, so are the sills but nothing that cannot be repaired, will post a pic of them tomorrow. Jeff TT
  15. Ever wondered what your zed looked like when it was brand new, well look at these photo`s and marvel at a 16 year old one owner zed with a GENUINE 19.660 miles from new NEVER been out in the rain, original paint, tyres , rear spoiler and just look at the leather seats...wow!!
  16. Can confirm Richards comments, we did a ConZult on it at JAE, was ok on all counts except the aformentioned autobox issue the only problem, (Pistol pete`s) Jeff
  17. Goggled it and its came back to use nail varnish that contains acetone, very careful only the smallest amount at a time and after treat with leather cleaner/ conditioner. NOTE test a small unoticable area first!!!!! Jeff TT
  18. What you need to do is actually take the lid off and take a look around the chip area to see if there is any poor soldering (if its been socketed /chipped) or any burn marks anywhere. A common cause of damage to the ecu is injector cables shorting out as they stay live even with the ignition off. ( done any work on the injectors lately?) Have you have the ecu upgraded in the past or was it done to your knowledge prior to you buying the car. Jeff TT
  19. Ok having done loads of research and internet trawling have finally come up with a simple method to fit the later round two stage air bag into my BMW 544i. So having found ( e-bay ) a few sports and an M3 tri colour sports wheel I was about to commit and came accross an M3 tri-colour half carbon fibre half leather one on the US e-bay and its put me in a spin to which one to have. The carbon fibre one is VERY expensive in comparison ($1200 against $650) but ....well you know sometimes its better to wait for something your really want rather than the second best one??? or is the M3 sport one nicer?? can not decide!! So whats the general thoughts on which one and does anyone have a carbon fibre steering wheel fitted on their zeds at all? Thanks Jeff TT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RARE-BMW-E46-M3-SMG-Carbon-Sport-steering-wheel-MPOWER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ290337294261QQsspagenameZRSSQ3aBQ3aSILFQ3aDEQ3a101
  20. The only cause of engine light to come on with engine running is an ecu fault, either corrupted eprom or maybe a badly fitted ( soldered ) chip socket, this will also bring the fan on too. Jeff TT
  21. I am so happy for you matey, after all of that work I know how frustrated I was at the big flat spot, so can only imagine how you where feeling. No feel the power!! :nana2::nana2::nana2: Jeff
  22. Wicked!!! well done for your perseverance , bet your well pleased! Jeff TT
  23. £55 (ish) from memory. Jeff TT
