key stuck in ignition
Is it an auto? if so make sure its in park, if that does not work try wiggling the lever in and out of park while turning the key, failing that you may need to disable the auto park interlock, remove the steering cowling and it should be removable if its anything like the zed interlock. Hope that helps Jeff TT

Man Made Climate Change - A Proven Fraud!
Always been of the belief that the world climate has cycles these cycles do cause seasons to slip out of the expected norm, also causing changes to the expected rain, sun, wind, sea levels etc. then there is sun activity, we defo are not responsible for that one but it has a massive effect on our world with solar winds and more. So given these cycles are a natural recurring events, first the govening bodies and private eneterprise are just milking it for what they can BUT the most import thing to consider is this, will the green measures that are been forced on us by the authorities and greedy private companies actually harm the natural cycle?? it might not be that man is killing the planet with climate change polution it just might be the green measures upsetting nature`s own blueprint for the worlds climate stability. stolen 300zx
Sorry to hear the news Stephen, will defo keep a look out for it as we are not too far from you, keep an eye on e-bay too, some times these low lifes are not too bright when it comes to selling parts (if that is their intentions) hopefully it will turn up real soon for you. Jeff

Battery light on
Bit of both really, the alternator has a built in function where the required charge is regulated accordingly, so after a cold start when the battery drain has been high turning over a cold engine the alternator will go onto high output mode, as the battery recovers from the discharge the alternator output regulator will slowly reduce the amount of output current. Now assuming no high power accessories are used the alternator current will become a float charge, the voltage however will stay around the 13.1v mark. The voltage output you have measured suggests the alternator is charging at a moderate float charge but will not extinguish the dash charge light until 3000 revs, this shows the current charge is only high at the higher revs. It is important to distinguish between Current output and float charge voltage as if not it can lead to mis-diagnosis Going back to the original answers to the thread, a diode pack within the alternator is is responsible for converting the alternator output from AC (Alternating current) to DC (Direct current) this also is what makes the charge light go out, so hence the with a faulty diode pack you get an inconsistant and low current output and the dimly glowing light. Going back to the charge rate been a float charge, if you now switch on high power accessories the useage will be more than the current supplied by the alternator so the battery then will start to discharge, running like this will eventually lead to a flat battery, usually the next new start when the engine is cold. Hope that helps Jeff TT

How clean is your boot
Now this is a clean boot, that low mileage UK zed seen here before, whilst getting access to the shock absorber fixings the boot floor cabling and the shine just is amazing really looks brand new! Jeff TT

Aftermarket parts testing
Mmm..well the abs sensor works off the hub reluctor ring so will read the rotation exactly the same. The ABS ecu will of been programmed with the standard brake set up dynamics, so it could be possible for the changes in braking dynamics to require an ABS ecu update. But having said that, manufacturers are very good at building large amounts of redundancy in items such as engine ecu mapping and possibly the ABS programing and would hazzard a guess it will be just fine, but once fully road tested i will add my findings here. Top question...nice one. Jef

Aftermarket parts testing
Yes weighed them in at the local scrappy with Smiths wheels!!! Na not really took them off as its easy to push around on space savers. Jeff

Aftermarket parts testing
Having after market parts trial fitted and tested for the Z32 would seem like a good idea and a good way for owners to have real world evaluation of the said parts before committing to buying them, so depending on the level of interest a series of threads for this purpose could be put together. So to kick it off to how it could look here we go.. please note though we do not sell this kit so have no vested interest in recommending these other than genuine comments. D2 8 Pot Big Brake Upgrade Ok if any of you zedders are presently looking for brake upgrades I cannot recommend enough the quality of the D2 big brake upgrade, having just fitted an 8 pot front and rear callipers & disc upgrade from D2 ( see pics. below) I can certainly say the fit is excellent, the relocation brackets and supplied bolts etc. are all top grade. Fitting the kit is very straight forward and the kit not only contains everything you will need but even spares washers and brake line adapters, the cost does vary slightly depending upon where the kit is bought from but expect to pay between £850 to £950 for the front kit and slightly less for the rear. The kit use a bell type disc which gives excellent clearance but does need at least 18” wheels for total clearance. The relocation bracket is a single piece cnc machined block and hence is very accurate and well made. The fixing bolts are all made from high tensile steel and look to exceed requirements which is always reassuring, as of yet they are not road tested and will update this thread after then, but so far given the price and build quality they look like top value for the money. If that is true it is a sad reflection our now diverse community, if it in fact untrue it is a VERY sad reflection on our diverse community, by the way did you copy and paste it direct? if so the mistakes should have been corrected. Jeff TT
