  1. Have a 2m connection but using wirless for the ps3 so maybe the wireless is slowing it down with the WEP encryption? Jeff
  2. Hi all, anyone that can help or advise me concerning my PS3? I bought a 160gb PS3 when they first came out ( over a year ago) and although when playing the games I am well happy, getting them to work has been a mission from day one. When I first used it and connected it all up to the internet etc. the screen display said the software was out of date and needed updating?? this puzzed me as I bought it only 9 days after the 160gb was released but hey ho let it do its thing, nearly 1 hour later of downloading and rebooting it seemed all done and so I put my first game in and the flipping screen display came up saying to play the particular game it needed a software update!!! what the !!! Ok so again went through the search updates and 30 mins later up and running. So happy all was ok over the past year have been buying games but each and every time a new game goes in an update is required!! flipping thing is driving me mad...loved my PS 2 to bits, swithed it on and then just played the games. Ok missus wanted a singalong game for christmas party so she got the ABBA one but depsite the usual download request etc it could not fin eteh correct download??/ so forget that one. So here we are now just popped Assinss Creed II in and guess what, bloody download required! so here we go, 80mb of download again and its up and running...finally. I am confused as other PS3 owners I speak to don not seem to have to keep updating, is it just the 160gb unit or what? really unimpressed with the whole thing as its never a switch on and go, my ps2 is still plugged into the tv and if I find myself in the mood for a bit of gaming the PS3 gets sidelined. Is there any master download for all the software? or is my unit faulty Thanks Jeff
  3. Take a look here http://www.leadinglamps.co.uk/h1-search.html?mode=search&by_title=Y&by_sku=Y&including=all&gclid=CPW94pHy954CFeZr4wodzVYzJw Xenon H1 55 watt is what you need, MOT legality is ok and will look similar to your HID dip beam. Are these replacement bulbs legal? Yes. Xenon or other replacement bulbs rated at the same wattage as your existing bulbs and are e-marked. If you use your vehicle for off road, display or racing, higher wattage bulbs are available. Taken from The Ring Automotive bulb manufactureres web site below http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/About-our-site.html#5 Jeff TT
  4. Temp gauge should read the same winter and summer ( roughly) as the thermosats modulates the engine core temperature actively. Check the water level and any air locks, also make sure your viscous fan coupling has not siezed, if all ok it is likely the themostat is not working correctly or is a non genuine unit. Check out the two links below http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=126426&highlight=thermostat+tech http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=133014&highlight=thermostat+tech Jeff TT
  5. Its unlikely you feel any difference with them disconnected or not, that is if they are ok, however a faulty sensor that is still in range so the ecu does not see a fault code can cause an unsettled return to idle when de-acelerating as fueling can be effected as the injectors swith back on after the momentry off mode when lifting off the throttle. It is much better to have the a faulty sensor disconnected as it defaults to a mean setting that albeit a static one gives better overall information to the ecu. Oh and Lorenzo Genuine Nissan O2 sensors are a little over £100 each but as MPJ hase mentioned the "latest " price is not available till next week. Do not be tempted to buy ones from E-bay that need the connector splicing in off the old sensors, at best they just do not work with the ecu mapping but at worse they default to over rich at all times and cause all sorts of running issues. Now its very likely you will get some good reports of non genuine ones been a real cost saver etc, but in the long run they simply are not. Jeff TT
  6. Hi Lorenzo, Before you go spending your cash just disconnect both O2 sensors which will give an average default setting at the ecu, then go for a drive. Jeff
  7. The compressor bearings when failed make this noise, the pulley free wheels on the compressor until energised and then locks the pulley and compressor shaft as one and hence turning the compressor internals, this is when the noise will occur if the pump bearings have gone, and by the way the bearings I mention here are not the shaft bearings but the ball bearings which move within the compressor screw section to compress and pump the aircon refridgerant around the system, by removing the air con fuse it disables the pulley clutch but allows the heater to function as a normal non aircon unit, same as when you press econ. 8. Your very welcome and glad the turkey hit the spot you lucky raffle winner  Jeff
  9. Bad luck Mark, was in Boulogne the previous weekend and it was well nice, what a difference a week makes eh? Jeff TT
  10. Hi matey, I would be very surprised if you have damaged the compressor as it is higher than both the anti roll bar and the subframe! however it does sound like an issue with the compressor though from your description and is maybe just a coincidence. Try when you switch on the heater ( auto) then press econ below to see of the noise stops, if it does then the compressor is the culprit and most likely not your off roading ( gate stop). You could always take out the air con fuse to stop the compressor engaging till you get a chance to sort it properly. The fuse is located in the black fuse / relay box on the front of the passenger side inner wing under the bonnet, it is marked on the top of the lid which fuse it is. 12. Speed sensor has a different cog fitted to match the n/a diff ratio, needs to be swapped or the speedo will not read acurately. n/a propshaft is different, but can be used. Jeff
  13. Ok guys and girls who came to the Zedworld Xmas Bash today, a few peeps had no alternative to not come due to the weather in their area`s and completely understand but a heart felt thank you to all of those who did attend for the support and for showing the real dedication that you guys have to be part of the 300zx community. Soppy yes but think it really felt like a big family party rather than a group of people from all parts of the county that sort of know each other via this forum. Shows how even when Mother Nature tries her hardest we will not be beaten Thank you to all who took part in the £1 raffle, it raised £67.00 and this is to be donated to Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and well done to Jimmy who won the Marks & Spencers turkey and wine. I would like to thank Lynda for her exceptional food and our great friends Simon and Lisa who helped out too. Thanks Jeff Jamie Lynda Danielle and friends
