  1. Try 10 years ago more like Lee !
  2. I think they are a bit shonky being honest Lee,After a few years they look ancient and do not stand the test of time at all,I would rather have a left hand drive OEM loom than a WS rhd one.
  3. The hard part is ac system.I cut the loom at the bulkhead as it saves dragging the ecu plug back through. The easiest way in reality is to de gas the AC system and remove the evaporator from behind the glove box which also has to come out along with the heater blower motor.I have managed several times now to do it with the evaporator left in but detached from its upper fixing on the dash bar.You have to force it down for access to the metal guide plate fitted over the loom as it exits the inside. That is held on with 2x10 mm nuts which are very tricky indeed.I use a qtr drive set up along with a wobbly joint. You will have to bend yourself up to do it but it is possible.
  4. 2 years ago things were already going south for him & the word was out about his outside work internet " Interests" & Pie Crust promises that cost him his business,I am baffled how still you ploughed on regardless of this as social media was full of this info ? .He is still on Facebook i believe under another name Dazzy B iirc or something like that.I think being honest you have really little chance of seeing the money again.Chalk this one up to experience or buckle in for a long legal ride.Good luck Chap.
  5. Ooh nasty !! Got any pictures ? & Well done for getting it off ?
  6. Hi Arthur,Do not be tempted to run the car under boost with no check valve you risk damaging the booster.
  7. Soft Valves on the 89 Models so it is quite likely they are badly worn.A leak down test would prove this.Unless seriously blown headgaskets do not show on comp tests i am afraid.
  8. Why are you removing the manifold also ?
  9. I was abroad on Holiday when you rang but had previously given you my email address also ?
  10. Hi John,Have you returned then from the middle east ?
  11. Well that stretched the old girls legs Richard.Who says they are not reliable eh ? looking great after its wash & Freshen up?
  12. Well that looks superb !
  13. Is this Condenser Parallel or Serpentine flow out of curiousty ?
  14. Hi Naz,It was a pleasure meeting you & working on the car again after Ollie sold it.With what you are planning it will be a very fine example indeed.
  15. It is yes chap.
  16. Hi Chap,No respectable welder is going to want to carry on a job you started first i am afraid.
  17. I have a 96 na loom that is in very good condition. You would need new style injectors/Cas & Ptu for it to work though.
  18. Hi Lee,Coming on nicely i see,Did you gap the rings prior ? The scraper rings are usually about right but the compression ring usually need around 5 thou removing so they are in tolerance. If the gaps are smaller than they should be when the engine warms up the rings will bind and scuff the bores.
  19. Was that a boat anchor at some point ?
  20. Why were the head gaskets done ? If it has been boiled at some point it is highly probable the bores are glazed. Those figures are not good and will not help it start if they are actually correct. If you can get it running they may come up slightly. You will need a really good battery to crank that fast enough and get it started.Have you checked each injector actually works ? I change loads these days that have gone bad,They do not like being laid up for years and that may be the problem.
  21. I am going to get my popcorn ready for that epsiode ?
  22. TDI North had 300zx ACL Shells on the shelf recently Lee
  23. Hi Andrew,I am currently speaking with the owner and will encourage him in joining and making himself and the car known if i can.
  24. This is one for Andrew Glenn,I have been made aware of an Aug 94 registered White Uk Automatic,The VIN ends in 1113 so made before L7 but still quite possibly the last sold car maybe ? It has undergone a restoration and looks stunning now.
  25. Hi Bredders,Congrats on the purchase fella,Have you somebody in mind for the restoration work ? That is beyond most body shops these days they will run a mile when they see that.I have a guy in Bristol who does all my 300zx welding repairs for me who is very good.
