  1. I had this fault.the sensor has 3 wires.a red/back common feed which is used on all the engines sensors,a black wire for the earth and the middle wire is the shielded wire which relays information to the ecu.check it has a live and an earth.then youll need to check the middle wire has continuity and is insulated from earth.the middle shielded wire is like co ax cable.the outer shielding is earthed.mine had a short from the inner to the outer earthed wire.if you have a multi meter connect it to the middle wire and run the car at 2000rpm.you should see the voltage rise and fall rapidly.Andy is correct in saying that the de fault when the ecu sees no reading from the lamba is to run rich.a lean mixture would damage the engine.
  2. Id be up for a spot of fishing and some hardcore thatchers drinking this year. You dont mind blanking when your getting :duffer: with the lads.I need to find some new waters and get into another 20 or 30lb fish.
  3. If your car failed on light pattern that isnt the same as a adjustment.you may have moisture on the inside of the lense or the bulb isnt sat in the holder correctly.worth checking.
  4. Correct the hicas bar will only replace the rack.the outer and inner joints are still used so if you have a joint gone your problem will still be there.People remove their hicas to either save weight on the car or improve handling not to stop the cars rear steering joints failing.
  5. If you have access to a welder cut the flanges off and pool weld the holes up as i always do.If you prepped them im sure a garage would do it for a drink. If you post them to me i will do it for you if you like?.

  13. If you want to check if its piston slap.retard the ignition.this will lower the load on the piston and reduce the noise.
  14. 400bhp!!!.sounds like a crock of sh1t.
  15. Its not by chance virtually every garage will have a snap on dealer call regular and it aint down to poor quality ;) .Snap on are by far the best and may be pricey but once you get a rapport with your dealer you wont get asked for proof of purchase like halfords should you get a problem.Teng are good tools for what they cost and will go the distance.Mac tools are good quality but the spanners have square sided handles which are uncomfortable when cracking off tight bolts.Facom are crazy expensive and are quite basic.I worked for Renault Trucks for seven years and their training college used Facom tools as they are made in France .Britool are dogs**t,boot tool kit material.the chrome peels and the open end jaws spread, the ratchets fail and will kill your knuckles.I bought a lot of Britool stuff when i was younger and soon replaced it.At the end of the day its all down to how regular you intend on using your tools and for what. You get what you pay for the same as anything else.
  16. Sounds like someone hitting a cat with a baby

  19. The problem with manual rebuilds is 3rd gear.Nissan modified the syncro assembly and the fork has to be replaced which makes it very costly.

  22. Leave the box in the car, release the lower steering u/j and four subframe bolts.lower the subframe about 50mm and the engine will come out the top.
