Is your cambelt ok? The ecu signals the fuel pump when it reads ten degrees of rotation from the Cas unit iirc.

Heating cast alloy is very dodgey so tread with caution.It becomes brittle and could snap at a later date.Dont use a flame directly on it.A heat gun would be safer.
