I heard a similar thing that in the 80s(shows his age now) the MG Maestro turbo press cars all blew up because the factory had wound the boost up to make the cars more impressive.

No need to go to forged pistons on an N/a with mild upgrades.If the bores and pistons are within tolerance then a hone with new rings will be fine.

Are we meeting up somewhere first and running a zed convoy up to Castle coombe?.

A standard rebuild is fine but id advise you to fit forged pistons as at a later date if you want to up the boost and chip the car youll kick yourself when the ring lands part company with your pistons.

I use fuch semi syn 75/90 in my gearbox and shes sweet as a nut.we keep it at work for vans which is a bonus.

The brakes on a zed will work fine if in good working order.if your caliper pistons are free id give them a bleed to flush out the old fluid.when you see the colour of it after 17years youll no why it needs changing.brake fluid is hydroscopic(absorbs moisture) so after time its boiling point is reduced and pedal feel will be compromised.It will make a hell of a difference.

Check the engine cont fuse under the bonnet.If this blows the bat light can glow and all sorts of other strange electrical problems can occur.

Weld an m10 nut on the end of the protruding stud,the heat from the weld will help to free it off as well.

what you can do is use your inner stop light bulbs to stay on as rear fogs so you dont lose one of the already useless reverse lamps.

Having fitted and drove a car with the 600s i can say that these are a very good turbo for the price.the impellers are slightly larger than the 530bbs as well.

It all depends on the front mount used.some will need the oil cooler relocating and some wont.Your ARC induction box would have to go mike i reckon.You may need to cut the bumper bar and some kits require that the fog lights are removed.The seller should be able to tell you.

That car is not heavily engine modded and the claimed power figures are very tongue in cheek.It does not mention anywhere about higher flow injectors so the power will be more like 370.Ask the guy for a dyno sheet and i bet she or hes "lost it" which is the usual reply :rolleyes: .

Get the bling as well mike.FAST ZEDS need some eye candy in the engine bay!!
