  1. If your worried about your box drop the old oil through a rag and check for metal.I rebuild 16speed gearboxes at work regularly and any box thats on its way out will let you know by the condition of its oil.the noise youve described could still be the release bearing, but if it is internal and the noise is still there at tickover it would indicate first motion shaft or layshaft bearings.
  2. The egr removal cleans up the engine bay and the valve at the rear of the engine is reputed to stick open and cause problems.
  3. Im interested.its been a while and the weather may hold out!!!.
  4. There is a gold one in weston i seen once.it was black from the glass line up but gold lower down.
  5. Isnt this another "Bullseye" thread again by these guys."have a look what you could have fitted guys" As the stunning yet unobtainable front and rear bumpers get wheeled back behind the curtain. :(
  6. Do NOT buy this car its had a sh1t respray in cellulose and the last i saw of it the matrix was gone.the paint job is awful and i know that leigh fitted an aero fuel filler which leaked and the paint came off and he had to have it blended back in.the exhausts are kakimoto and kak is the key word as they are as rotten as a pear.i knew the previous owner here in Bristol.
  7. If you wanna bed it in nice dont labour the engine in any gear and keep her working hard with plenty of gear changes.but stay out the red on the rev counter or :wack: .also i always use monograde engine oil with no additives to help things settle in nicely.
  8. Its totally chavtastic mate.the bumper fits like a welly in a shoe box.The lines dont match at all.I must get a piccy for your delight. Its one for the hall of shame.

  18. turbo dynamics will recon a stock tub for about £200 each iirc.dont bother with s/h tubs as its not worth the hassle if they are fitted and you then find out they are no good.make sure you get new oil lines fitted at the same time and make sure the water feeds and banjos are clear or its goodbye new tubs.
  19. I e mailed the quad bov black 450bhp cars owner asking what mods it had to the engine and guess what.............................??????????????. Ive had no reply.perhaps he knows something we dont and doesnt want to share its tuning secrets.
  20. Ive worked in the motor trade for 17 years and have seen many people who buy a used vehicle with a warranty then find out when a fault occurs its not covered. The warrantys usually cover mechanical failure and not wear so if your engine throws a con rod your covered but if it gets low compression from bore/ring wear your out of pocket. Its a total farce as its not properly explained when the purchase is made. One particular vehicle a firm sold who i worked for had a common problem with syncro wear.So to help out the customer i had a snapped baulk ring and syncro cone which id let the warranty holding company examine. As it was broken and not worn theyd pay up.it was named the harth rug in the end!!.
  21. Greg is right on the money.stock pistons and higher boost spells disaster and certain ring land failure.if your going for 500hp your certainly gonna be running some high boost and way past the reliability boundaries of stock items.
  22. the specified oil by nissan is 10/30 or 15/40 synthetic.many people swear by 10/60 which is sold by traders on here and is a good alternative for high performance turbo cars.
  23. that car is a ford classic if im not mistaken.
  24. Have a nice day folks.wish i was going.im sat here now looking at my unfinished car and the rain is coming down in stair rods.another weekend wasted. :wack:
  25. Hi Peeps, dont wont to be a larry let down but i wont make it on sunday.im really gutted.i havnt finished my boost controller fitment yet and when i was running the pipe through under the dash i noticed what looked like congealed anti freeze on the side of the heater box.so id rather not trek down to plymouth and possibly fook my car in the process after the money ive spent on the engine.i just hope someone has another dyno day this year.
