  1. Bought an apexi for my tt.you wont feel a massive difference but the car will feel more responsive.most cars bebefit from a free flowing air filter.if you already have a upgraded exhaust then it will be more noticeable.dont get me wrong your not gona be thrown through the back window now!!!.but it may give you a smile.
  2. Thanks for the tip Dave.set of seals and a flow test it is then.wish id never bought the sodding things now !!!.
  3. I know where your coming from.if they dont flow right then im not using them.cars are a bottomless pit.thank god i dont have to pay for the engine build as im a mechanic and have built two zed engines before.my wallets going to casualty soon after the hiding im giving it!!!!.
  4. Oh well then,in for a penny in for a pound.its never ending mate.new ring gear.head work etc.mind you i did get the block bored and crank polished for a steal Lol!!!! ;)
  5. ^^ spot on.zed flywheels tend to get a hard time and nothing will finish a new clutch like a high spot on a flywheel.
  6. Hi Mark. Its just for a flow test. The injectors are new.Done a silly thing a while ago and bought venom injectors before i found out they have a terrible reputation.would buy some nismos but ive spent £2500 on other tuning gear.figured if i get them flow tested to check they will flow 550cc then i can fit them and replace them at a later date.
  7. Does anyone know if £15 an injector is a fair price for flow testing?.
  8. FT as they say in the trade or 1 dugga!
  9. sleeving is a last resort and very expensive.as far as im aware ive never heard of home sleeving kits.sleeves are not car specific but ordered by size and machined by an engine shop to fit then bored .most engines can take a .5 overbore and the manufacturer will state the oversizes in their manual.if you have any doubts on the condition of your block have the machine shop run a mercer gauge down the bores to check for uneven wear.the pots may be in tolerance and just need honing.
  10. your welcome bud old trick of the trade thats got me out of a S**T situation a few times.

karl you could try infinity in Yate just outside Bristol.I know some people with their exhausts and they were very pleased with the quality and price.
  12. it al depends on what other mods you intend to do and what psi you intend on running.the stock pistons are only good for 380-400bhp.as the crank and rods are forged anyway they have been used up to 450 and beyond so ive heard.the sport 500s are capable of this sort of power with other mods like injectors, exhausts, intercooler etc.if you just want a more reliable faster spooling turbo that bolts on with no mods then the sport 500s are a good choice as they give plenty of scope for further mods in the future.
  13. you could weld an m8 nut to the end of the stud.works a treat even when they are seized.
  14. kh3 is probaly a uk code.mine j spec grey looks different to uk greys.mine is kh2 as well.

  16. Do you know where knole lane is?
  17. I live 5minutes from there.those two cars belong to friends of mine.my cars a grey jap tt manual.the yellow zed is an impul 932s quite a rare car.

  19. sorry my last post had a stutter in it!!!! :wack:
  20. when you want the want the engine done pm funki si he knows someone. ;)
  21. you shouldnt need a zed mechanic to sort this any decent old skool fix and not just replace mechanic should do be able to do this.the fundamentals of a g/box are all the same its just the gear train layout that varies.
  22. from what youve described id say layshaft bearing but this is not a usual z32 fault.
  23. Thanks for your advice.
  24. Hit the wrong currency button bud.its getting late!!!!
  25. The gtr upgrade smithy sells uses skyline discs with an adaptor to move the stock caliper.Im going down the other route using 350z 12.75" track rotors and a caliper bracket.all sourced from the USA.both are a vast improvement on the stock set up.
