  1. silicone sealant is great on exhaust joins as well.i always use it,great stuff, never blows out of joints like paste. ;)
  2. hi bud, personally id go for the covers luke borg sells at the zed center.made by katzkin in the states.the nippon map holders on the rear of the seats look naff as the sides are corrugated!.but its your choice at the end of the day.bear in mind if you want any retrim kit to fit nice you might wanna get some extra foam for the squabs as the originals compress and when you fit your new covers there slacker than a wizards sleeve.
  3. link for rods, pistons and cometic gaskets sent mate.works out under £500. :hyper:
  4. Ive got one coming from source as ive found the manufacturer.and for what its costing im willing to take a gamble.you pays your money you takes your choice.but every now and again some things arent to good to be true.for example just by having a search tonight ive found a set of wiesco pistons, eagle forged rods, and cometic head gaskets all for less than £500!!!!!. there are some bargains to be had sometimes.in 4 weeks i will let you all know if its any good. :hyper:
  5. hi mate,i know someone with this set up and they used http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk to get it set up.
  6. you know the hks one is three times the price!!!
  7. did you speak to scott at altezza?. he keeps telling me there due in any day now.been saying that a month!!!!!.
  8. whereabouts in devon are you?
  9. is it an auto or a manual.as auto boxes dont like being parked up for long periods.
  10. yes one like that does interest me and i have the money waiting.do you prefer pounds or euros.let me know your preference and that youve received my e mail.
  11. thats what i was thinking.its not like you could pop into halfords and get one.imagine the spotty twats face behind the counter if you asked for one. :D
  12. done this myself and used some old towels wedged between the dash and the screen to hold it in place.dont force them to much as the screen may crack.
  13. sounds like valve stem seals.i would replace the pcv valves first if they havnt been done.
  14. probaly not but brace yourself for the shipping.they have a minimum fee for shipping as they are in the middle of nowhere.i bought a key blank and a gearstick lower bush and the shipping cost £30.bearing in mind the parts would have gone in a jiffy bag and they shipped it in a box 6"x6".when i rang and complained i was told that"hey buddy everbody has to get paid".get a quote for the shipping when you order so you are aware of the cost.
  15. by your description it sounds like the engine had seized and youve dragged it in gear to free it off.its more than likely this would have snapped the cambelt.this is why you have no spark or fuel as the cas is turned by the belt.
  16. you need to remove the whole bush.quickest way is to set fire to them.the centers will fall out and you can collapse the outer sleeves in with a cold chisel.thats how ive always done them.
  17. hi mate.the kit is a hks copy.go on their web site and you can find an image.altezza in the uk are about to market them.how much have you found the kit for as the hks one is $1900
  18. the most likely cause on these cars is piston or ring failure.as long as the block is salvageable then it will make a good base for a rebuilt engine.id try and get it a bit cheaper though.
  19. has anyone tried shells new v power petrol.its advertised as ferrari fuel for the road.probaly ferrari price as well.what octane is it?
  20. the fuel pump needs a signal mate from the cas unit to work.as soon as the cas reads 1degree it latches the fuel relay.the pump will only go when the engine is cranked.all i do is plug a spare cas into the cars loom and turn the drive by hand.
  21. a misfire under boost or a juddering as it will feel is a classic symptom of a major boost leak.carry out a boost leak check.
  22. the easiest way is find a 75mm diameter drink bottle.cut it in half.get a tyre valve and insert it through a drilled hole in the cap.jubilee clip the bottle around the maf and hey presto!!.
  23. that looks like the plug that operates the solenoid that resides in front of the battery.im sure it controls emissions of fuel vapour from the tank.
  24. go with chunk on this one.dont rate synthetic oils for zeds.for more modern engines yes but on older cars or cars with higher mileage it usually just causes smoke problems are weeps past seals.
