did you test the comp with the fuel pump fuse out and the throttle bodies held open.was the engine hot when you ran the test.funki si,s engine ran pretty smooth even though the n/s/f piston had picked up and the piston land had broke away giving him virtually zero psi!!

probaly just that the front springs have got slightly shorter over the years.a common 300 fault due to the weight of the engine etc.most zeds suffer from this but it doesnt mean you have to rush out and buy new shocks and springs which cost a packet.if the front shocks still rebound ok and arent leaking then why change them.you can correct the negative camber by adjustable top arms for £200 or a shim kit for about $90.the shipping wont be much as the items dont weigh much.$90 is about £50 by the way.as long as you can get the suspension geometry within spec then you wont have a problem.

the det sensor is an engine protection device which senses detonation rattling then retards the timing and increases fuelling to prevent damage.without the sensor (dreaded code 34)the engine will stay in safety boost/timing retarded until it is rectified.

to bypass the det sensor a 1 mega ohm resistor is bridged between the terminals of the engine loom plug of the det sensor harness.if you dont know what detonation sounds like i wouldnt advise you to do this as it will cause piston failure.usually the piston land between the scraper and compression ring breaks up causing blow by then its rebuild time again.i have heard of relocating the sensor to one of the inlet valley studs to save time and money but the ideal place is on the block between the two banks.

specialty zed in the states do a front camber correction kit for $90.the top arm bolts are replaced with longer ones and you insert shims behind the inner wing bracket to correct the camber.

out of interest how much are the nismo rear subframe bushes?.i just fitted a set of poly bushes to an s13 and driftworks only charged £65 for a complete rear set.they made a massive difference to the handling of the car.

apex or driftworks do them im sure.

best thing is to write explaining the fault using registered post,then if you dont get a reply issue a county court summons against him.its cheap to do and youll get the money back for issuing it at the end.the guy has to respond or the court will carry out proceedings without him and you will come out on top.get a report from jeff as evidence of the engine fault and take your 90 day warranty and the court is bound to find in your favour. ;)

just read link.the last engine i did was for a guy with a 200sx.he drove it like he stole it the minute he got it back.start as you mean to go on he reckons!!.and i have to be honest it hasnt suffered one bit.id have liked to have made a sign for your back window si saying RUNNING IN like old coffin dodgers always had on their morris marinas.

whilst working on my motor found a gap for a 10amp fuse in the fuse box so i put one in.the cig lighter was powered all the time and the clock and heater screens were always illuminated.looked great at night when the car was parked but after a week the battery started to drain down overnight.so i took it out.

hi vance check the resistance across the solenoid on the rack.its on the drivers side.i beleive if you connect it to a 9v battery it should buzz.the solenoid controls the speed sensitivity.

I know jaguar dont recommend oil flush on older cars or any that have done 80000miles as they are prone to smoking after.sometimes engines build up deposits that help to seal the engine internally.wash em away and you start to get problems.

i work in the motor trade and have always found this strange that your main beam wattage is limited by law.how absurd is that.i fitted 100w watt mains anyway as im willing to take the risk.i must say though that 100w mains still look dim compared to my 6000k hids.

there is no motor in a stock zed drivers door.there is a switch which is operated from the back of the lock that sends a signal to the passenger door.on a stock car if you lock the car from the pass door the drivers will not lock as it has no motor.this is why when the alarm installer fitted a toad alarm to my car a motor had to be fitted as when you set the alarm it can then centrally lock the drivers door also.

zeds dont have a motor in the drivers door as standard.get an aftermarket one from maplins for a fiver.it would have had one fitted when the alarm was fitted.peice of piss to fit and only two wires.

for 14bhp i wouldnt bother.some people have been lucky but there are loads that havent.leaving mine on as my tubs puff with the first boost then remain clear after.ive also been told by a zed garage who is well established that he would advise to leave them on the car as he has fitted them at the owners request and after a couple of months they come back and complain the cars smoking.

of course not there hideous..havnt seen them in years.reckon the grounding kit will cure your static problem but i couldnt comment on them being a performance upgrade.

take the pads back out and clean the paint off the edges that locate the pad in the caliper.likewise clean the inside of the caliper.make sure the pins arent corroded or bent.if the pads dont move freely in the caliper they bind causing the creaking noise.any car can suffer with this problem.just because the pads are new doesnt mean they wont do it.pad backs are painted with a thick black paint and sometimes you get paint drips on the edges that need cleaning off.10 minutes per side with a bit of emery cloth,light smear of copper grease and usually problem solved.
