Let's see who can come up with the most rediculous numbers. Rules: they all have to be or have been on the same Z you have to have seen them on your Z (but pictures count too!) - assuming stock ones were on there at some point in the past is allowed! ;) the parts have to be relatively interesting (different types of battery or air freshener don't count!) the parts have to be different makes (so you can't say I've been through 4 stock clutches!) you have to have at least three to be able to list them you get one point for each item listed but only if you can name/describe them in some way tyres and alloys count as one I'll start: Gearkno…

hey folks need a few suggestions on and what ive just had. Ive had the engine out for the last couple of weeks changing the turbos that were knackered and ive put it all back in now. I used a pair of turbos that were reconditioned 4k ago. I started her up and all seemed fine just a couple of coolant drips to deal with so had the engine on and off a couple of times to check the leaks. Then the next time i started up and got a little hotter i have got plumes of white smoke bellowing out and seemed to be calming down a bit and was about to go for a test drive but reved a bit and again lots of smoke so i thought i better just park up to look again in the light. …

Does anyone one have a diagram of the wiring for fitting a series 2 ptu, I know you can buy an adapter harness with them but I have one without. If someone has a diagram so I can wire it in that would be great :)

hmmm spent some money today ;) the car has driftwork hicas arms which had been installed but not setup so the rears were well out, so had 4 wheel alignment done which has improved things no end :) also taxed the bloody thing so its now road legal Fed her some decent fuel and gave her a blast to set up the boost controller but ran out of light and i dont have a boost gauge as yet and its difficult to read the contoller while driving at boost LOL so will wait until i get a boost gauge first then sort it. The undertray catched badly as the front is really really low so several cable ties later and all is well, at some point i will change the spr…

Well i'm begining to learn why people pay so much for these cars when they're tip top. Picked up my Z maybe a couple months ago, knowing it needed some work, but it seems that every time i fix something, something else breaks. So far i've: replaced boost intake pipes, re-wired series 2 PTU form a series 1, attempted to change o2 sensor (couldnt but it's getting done tomorrow) changed crap tweed for leather converted kph to mph changed to newer front bumper Ive got a new centre bearing to fit and need to get an exhaust (first i think) Tomorrow im getting full timing belt change including water pump, all idlers etc and a look on datscan…

Hi there everyone, Potentially bad news concerning the short term future of my ZX. Started the car the other day to keep it ticking over (she's been having work done on her and been off the road since May) I noticed an oil leak and smoke coming out the back. Got the car on jacks today and had a look, the oil seems to be coming from the RHS turbo, I think the back of the housing, a mate thinks it might be the rear bearing seal. I cant see if the oil is coming from the head and dripping down or anywhere else for that matter. Will upload a couple of photos later when the other half gets back with my camera cable. :headvswal Any help with this would be …

In the times of sky high insurance, petrol prices on the rise and the fact most people have to commute further to work i've had to resort to driving a supermini to work and back on my 250 mile commute each day. It's a great little car don't get me wrong but it's just not as nice or as comfortable as the zed is. The V8 is going to be pulling in about 10-16mpg and the whole point of that is indulgence so i'm not touching that, that's for racing and the odd treat drive. So what i'm proposing to do is probably sacrilege in most people's books on here but i'm going to start on project Eco-Zed! A true 200bhp 50+mpg sports coupe. I'm honestly not joking, havi…

Good afternoon!, does anyone know which way round the funny shaped front rack bush goes (drivers side) - does the split face the front or rear of the car? It is an E.S bush and is not quite symmetrical, but the old one is completely fubbered so can't use that as a reference! The workshop manual also sheds no light. cheers Guys....

like my other post kind of explains i am going to start the car in the next couple of weeks. Apart from battery dead and probably killed from the deep drain is there anything that i need to look out for when starting it? My car has loud tappeting after leaving for 1 week of not driving it so i worry that leaving it for 3 months means ill probably wreck the engine on startup :(

Ok so a change of plan has happened again. I am fed up with not driving the car whilst I save up for engine rebuild and after not starting it for 3 months my new plan is: *Fix leaking pipe at rear of engine and start driving around again *Save up for manual gearbox in the meantime. *once I have bought the manual gearbox then I will look at saving for engine rebuild and upgrade. My existing problem is the one I have had since buying the car………. Unknown hesitation under full load at higher speeds of 60+. When I get this mechanic to change pipes for me is there anything I can ask him to look at? Santa and I noticed that the wastegate seems to…
