For those attending JAE this Saturday (Tomorrow), please consider use unfortunate ones that are spending the day at work! I personally will be spending all day tomorrow (10 hours) stuck in front of this PC here at the test centre, so if anyone wants to upload any pics it would be appreciated to 'keep me going' until I can be there on Sunday  Have a great day tomorrow (and those of you camping overnight tonight as well) and hope to 'meet & greet' some of you Sunday :dance:

Christ time has come round quickly! Z's MOT is actually due at the end of the month, but I'll be in the USA then, so having it done today. Have covered a mere 6,000 miles since last MOT....and since then have fitted yet more new parts. Hoping all should go well. Passed last year with no problems, if there is anything that's wrong with it this year, it'll be minor.

How does this work? If you were going to do a engine swap how does this affect the insurance? Lets say i had a big bhp VG engine insured how would the price compare with a insurance company on a engine swap? Is it more difficult to insure? I am currently with Adrian Flux i am sure they would insure a engine swap but at what price who knows. It may even be cheaper as it may be classed as a kit car. Who knows. I have no idea how insurance companies see and work with engine swaps. Can someone shed some light on this please.

Many of you will already be aware that I sold my car recently. Still shocked that I have actually allowed myself to let it go. I honestly thought it was going to be with me until I kicked it LOL. Anyway, after some long thought, I have decided to step down as Club Secretary. I just feel that without the car, my interest and commitment wouldn’t be the same as it once was and that just wouldn’t be right and fair on the rest of the members. Time for someone else to have a stab! :D I will still be a member of the club, just won’t be as active as I once was. I have made some really good friends here and hopefully that will continue in the future. For those of you w…

A bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' type of question this but thought I'd give it a go. Having had the Z for a coupleof months now, I've noticed that it has OFF and ON days. On an ON day, it is smooth as silk, refined and well sorted. Drives very sweetly. On an OFF day, the engine sounds gruff, the gearbox seems to clunk between changes, and the car vibrates at speed. Generally, it doesn't sound or feel healthy. As far as I can tell, there is no relationship to the weather (i.e. damp/dry/hot) and no relationship to it being cold or warmed up. Any ideas what it could be? The performance is about the same in both moods.

Let's see who can come up with the most rediculous numbers. Rules: they all have to be or have been on the same Z you have to have seen them on your Z (but pictures count too!) - assuming stock ones were on there at some point in the past is allowed! ;) the parts have to be relatively interesting (different types of battery or air freshener don't count!) the parts have to be different makes (so you can't say I've been through 4 stock clutches!) you have to have at least three to be able to list them you get one point for each item listed but only if you can name/describe them in some way tyres and alloys count as one I'll start: Gearkno…

hey folks need a few suggestions on and what ive just had. Ive had the engine out for the last couple of weeks changing the turbos that were knackered and ive put it all back in now. I used a pair of turbos that were reconditioned 4k ago. I started her up and all seemed fine just a couple of coolant drips to deal with so had the engine on and off a couple of times to check the leaks. Then the next time i started up and got a little hotter i have got plumes of white smoke bellowing out and seemed to be calming down a bit and was about to go for a test drive but reved a bit and again lots of smoke so i thought i better just park up to look again in the light. …

Does anyone one have a diagram of the wiring for fitting a series 2 ptu, I know you can buy an adapter harness with them but I have one without. If someone has a diagram so I can wire it in that would be great :)

hmmm spent some money today ;) the car has driftwork hicas arms which had been installed but not setup so the rears were well out, so had 4 wheel alignment done which has improved things no end :) also taxed the bloody thing so its now road legal Fed her some decent fuel and gave her a blast to set up the boost controller but ran out of light and i dont have a boost gauge as yet and its difficult to read the contoller while driving at boost LOL so will wait until i get a boost gauge first then sort it. The undertray catched badly as the front is really really low so several cable ties later and all is well, at some point i will change the spr…

Well i'm begining to learn why people pay so much for these cars when they're tip top. Picked up my Z maybe a couple months ago, knowing it needed some work, but it seems that every time i fix something, something else breaks. So far i've: replaced boost intake pipes, re-wired series 2 PTU form a series 1, attempted to change o2 sensor (couldnt but it's getting done tomorrow) changed crap tweed for leather converted kph to mph changed to newer front bumper Ive got a new centre bearing to fit and need to get an exhaust (first i think) Tomorrow im getting full timing belt change including water pump, all idlers etc and a look on datscan…

Hi there everyone, Potentially bad news concerning the short term future of my ZX. Started the car the other day to keep it ticking over (she's been having work done on her and been off the road since May) I noticed an oil leak and smoke coming out the back. Got the car on jacks today and had a look, the oil seems to be coming from the RHS turbo, I think the back of the housing, a mate thinks it might be the rear bearing seal. I cant see if the oil is coming from the head and dripping down or anywhere else for that matter. Will upload a couple of photos later when the other half gets back with my camera cable. :headvswal Any help with this would be …

In the times of sky high insurance, petrol prices on the rise and the fact most people have to commute further to work i've had to resort to driving a supermini to work and back on my 250 mile commute each day. It's a great little car don't get me wrong but it's just not as nice or as comfortable as the zed is. The V8 is going to be pulling in about 10-16mpg and the whole point of that is indulgence so i'm not touching that, that's for racing and the odd treat drive. So what i'm proposing to do is probably sacrilege in most people's books on here but i'm going to start on project Eco-Zed! A true 200bhp 50+mpg sports coupe. I'm honestly not joking, havi…
