Cambelt inspection is a topic we come across often, but unfortunately access is limited to at best a top view by removing the right hand cover. Trouble is the belt is under tension and of course the underside of the belt is almost non viewable. Take a look at the two photo`s bearing in mind the belt is removed and so is not under tension so would actually look better if still fitted added to the restricted view when in place. The first picture showns both the top section and the underneath at the same time, this a luxury you do not have when its in place of course, either way its fair to say most viewers would concider leaving it well alone as in good order …

It's been a while since i last gave an update so I thought i'd say what's going on. Well last update was i was nearly sorted with the gauges well since then i've been finishing off the interior: Rough spray and a test fit: Wheels going back on, still need to add the 5mm spacers on the front to just knock them out but the ride height is spot on where i wanted it: Grinding out the custom steering column bracket to fit an original steering column. Just need to cut and lengthen the standard zed column by an inch to meet up with the lowered rack: Fitted the matching shocks and springs on the back:

Alternators often get a bad rep on Z buying guides without real reason really, yes they do fail on occassion but in the main its due to outside forces one of which is deep puddles and no undertrays! Take a look at the photo below this is the main cables that connects the loom to the alternator output, corrosion of the ring section can cause such a bad connection that a build up of heat leads to weekening of the cable cores and eventual damage to the output regulator. This is not the cause of every failure but one that seems to be on the increase. Unfortunatly due to the location of the alternator prevention of this is limited as the alternator needs removing to…

I currently have a triple pilar pod but the fitment is not that good can anybody who has one that fits perfectly let me know the make and post pic's if possible so I can compare. As you can see in the picture there is quite a gap between the pod and the widow, this is the same on the other side of the pod which is then letting in water as it does not push hard enough against the window seal. :smw:

Upon stripping the door handles off my JDM breaker today, I realised that the ring around the lock can be illuminated. Does anyone have these that work? Although the handles were fully intact there was no sign of any sort of lamp. Would it be easy installing bulbs there?

My Z will be back going back down to Phil to fit my new gearbox and one piece prop and i have asked him to double check everything now i have done a few hundred miles in it. It is seriously overfuelling at present, due to running on a 740cc chip which doesnt fully support all the mods. It cost me a tank and a half of fuel to go 200 miles LOL! Anyway, it will be going from Phil's down to Thor racing for about a week to give them plenty of time to fit the AEM, Wideband UEGO, MAP sensor and Air Temp sensor. Is there anything that you guys recommend doing in preparation for getting it mapped so nothing is missed? Also, the spec is below. I have been wondering if i …

Having read up up bit on car audio forums this had to be done apparently. i was unconvinced until I actually fitted it to my doors this weekend. I got about 1.25 sq metres fitted to each door over a few layers inner and outer skins and the difference is unbelieveable. Even just closing the door on the car makes a huge sound difference. This is by far the best £40 I have ever spent on sound even changing from a £50 pair of speakers to a £250 pair didn't make as much difference. Also fitted the polyglass focal's too and it sounds stunning now. Tedious and a little mucky(bitumin based self adhesive) work but a BIG thumbs up for sound upgrade:cool:

Not getting any interest in my ZED as a whole. Wondering if I should consider parting out. Any realistic estimates on what offers I'd get for Engine, Transmission? (w/out Tubs, Intercoolers, as I guess they would sell quicker, seperately? ) Engine: *Ran a little rich at one point which glazed the cylinder walls, so does leave a bit of blue in the rear-mirror under hard acceleration. But even with that, should still be worth a few bob considering dynos always come in at 480 - 550 bhp? Torque Developments International build. Hello folks. Well fingers crossed if i go and pick my car up on friday that i will have the miles on it by saturday. Got something quite important thats needing doing and involves alot of miles combined with the miles of driving home possibly via stellaz place. This will work out in total either between 800-1000miles by late saturday afternoon. So basically what im wondering is how to do the oil change, ive never done an oil change before, and with this being me putting the new oil in after the re-build bedding in miles i want to ensure i get it right and have it fully drained out. Far as im aware just open a bleed point underneath the car and let it drain?…
