Just sitting here wandering how many zeds do you think are left in the country? There is always a Zed being broken and scrapped, and i hope none have gone to this scrappage scheme!!! I know Zeds are still being imported but if there is less in circulation that means prices should go up lol

So how many of us actually use the zed as a daily drive? Its my only car so I do the daily commute and usual running, probably around 100 miles a week. How ever this will change as my place of work is moving so weekly total will be nearer 250. I drive alternate weeks so it probably gonna cost me an extra £1k a year in fuel alone, not to mention wear and tear on the old girl. I'm thinking of getting a cheap runabout for commuting, but I don't have a drive and parking on my street is limited. If got a cheapy runabout for about £1k I'd save in the long run after a few years or so, I'm not planning on leaving the company for at least 3 years. I don't really…

Hi all, just to let you know the Zedworld team will be at JAE Wickstead Park this coming Saturday, hopefully be a good chance to put faces to names etc. and as per usual will have our trusty laptop for free ConZult checks anyone interested in that if you let me know here or by pm will give as many peeps a chance then, could be of interest as its a perfect chance to collate plenty of data on typical set up issues within the club. We will be distributing goody bags of which will give more details later but each one will be numbered and a raffle of sorts will be performed with 3 main workshop prize vouchers of £100, £50, and £25, and depending on the take up a few cons…

If I upgraded a my auto tt to 400hp. I mean, intake, ecu, cat-back, UD pulleys and re-map (and whatever else it takes to find the additional 120hp). Will the auto tt do the 0-60 any quicker? or is it about all round performance? or ? Can't find much that helps confirm what the results will be. Will the top end improve too? or, are these mods only going to remove turbo lag and improve overall responsiveness?? Would appreciate views from those who have done it... Many thanks, Alex

Can anyone recommend a good cat-back exhaust to install as part of an intake, ECU, UD pulley and re-map upgrade? I wanted to get the benefits out of the cat-back but don't want any significant noise over stock if I can help it. Any suggestions for what would work best in terms of a flow/noise balance? Many thanks, Alex

Firstly i had dett issues some 18 months ago, after by passing with a 1mohm resistor all was good. pulls like mad and is running 14psi with boost jets. However, whilst on route to Thorpe park today it started to feel lumpy at the top end of boost. It was quick, but not as much as before. Then i noticed it was running at safety boost only 7psi. A couple of days back i let it run a bit low trying to get to the petrol station. i checked the resistor and all is good, have re cleaned the throttle bodies and they are still very clean, after the day, i put some injector cleaner in with fuel. still running a bit pants, then all of a sudden it goes back to hitting 14psi, …

The z31 has been sitting for a couple of weeks until I get round to ordering a piece of pice of pipe with banjo bolt for the dif cooler but its tapped off just now anyway so I thought I'd give it a jump start and put some charge back in it with a short blast around...stopped at petrol station 30 mins later and steam started pi$$in out the bonnet, popped it and a steady flow of coolant spraying out the side of the engine...too gutted to inspect further, just drove home and dumped it

Cambelt inspection is a topic we come across often, but unfortunately access is limited to at best a top view by removing the right hand cover. Trouble is the belt is under tension and of course the underside of the belt is almost non viewable. Take a look at the two photo`s bearing in mind the belt is removed and so is not under tension so would actually look better if still fitted added to the restricted view when in place. The first picture showns both the top section and the underneath at the same time, this a luxury you do not have when its in place of course, either way its fair to say most viewers would concider leaving it well alone as in good order …

It's been a while since i last gave an update so I thought i'd say what's going on. Well last update was i was nearly sorted with the gauges well since then i've been finishing off the interior: Rough spray and a test fit: Wheels going back on, still need to add the 5mm spacers on the front to just knock them out but the ride height is spot on where i wanted it: Grinding out the custom steering column bracket to fit an original steering column. Just need to cut and lengthen the standard zed column by an inch to meet up with the lowered rack: Fitted the matching shocks and springs on the back:

Alternators often get a bad rep on Z buying guides without real reason really, yes they do fail on occassion but in the main its due to outside forces one of which is deep puddles and no undertrays! Take a look at the photo below this is the main cables that connects the loom to the alternator output, corrosion of the ring section can cause such a bad connection that a build up of heat leads to weekening of the cable cores and eventual damage to the output regulator. This is not the cause of every failure but one that seems to be on the increase. Unfortunatly due to the location of the alternator prevention of this is limited as the alternator needs removing to…

I currently have a triple pilar pod but the fitment is not that good can anybody who has one that fits perfectly let me know the make and post pic's if possible so I can compare. As you can see in the picture there is quite a gap between the pod and the widow, this is the same on the other side of the pod which is then letting in water as it does not push hard enough against the window seal. :smw:
