Didn't want to spoil DAZ1s thread so I thought I'd ask the question in a separate thread. I've recently noticed a sound when the car is cold which sounds like tappets. What's the significance of this? Should I be worried? It's an NA.

Hi guys, I know this question has been asked several times and I've trawled the forums but can't find the perfect answer, so here goes again. 1. I have some remnants of an adhesive stuck to my dash which needs removing. In direct sunlight, it softens when the dash is hot but what is the best way to remove this safely, i.e. without damaging or melting the dash? It's above the air vents, on the soft part of the dash. 2. What is the best and safest method of removing the Fairlady sticker on the rear of the car? It's embarrassing! 3. Once (2) is done, where can I get a good quality replacement NISSAN sticker that looks genuine. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Guys, Need to pick your brains again - I am running a '92 TT Targa LWB Auto. Engine has been chipped and remapped (with SS Freeflow Nisstek Exhaust + induction kit soon) and is being worked on to get me a reliable 340Bhp. I currently still have the HICAS set up working and am running on stock 16 inch rims. I want to tie down the handling a bit more as it just feels a bit detached and cumbersome through the twisty stuff though it does feel very secure at speed. Also I am getting a little bit of vibration under hard braking . I am looking to move to 18" rims to take out some side wall flex but would also look to a new suspension set up and am looking for some d…

Took the callipers off my series 1 breaker today. Just wondering if they are stock s1 alloy ones? They look a lot better than the iron lumps on my s2 so was going to swap (after a refurb).

Off to Jeffs tomorrow to get the car running properly, I keep getting random spates of mis-fires. I have played with the engine for ages and have learned lessons in past that it's worth taking to a pro when it gets to that stage, I could spend another month trying to fix it but why!!! So I pulled her out of the garage fitted the new bumper which has had a crap blow over with a Halfords tin of paint but not spending anymore money til it's running right. Decided against the vented nose panel as the fuse box and PTU will live there. During a spate of not mis-firing took her down the dual carriage way and flew down there at 80mph, when accerlerating the wastegate no…

Well just gone back to work having 2 weeks off and spent the first week with my mate Scott putting a front on my Zed and doing all manner of other usefull thing's like AIV, PRVR and carbon cannister delete and bypass (EGR got deleted years ago!) as well as re routing various vac hoses to eliminate any boost leaks (Thanks to DannyZX and his boost leak tester) and removing all the corrisponding solenoids... Only thing now is my interior heater blower don't work! I know this bumper isn't to everyone's liking but I like it and that's what matters. That's what makes us all individual else we would all like the same women, tv progs ets! Here are some pic's anyway and Scott is u…

Not a lot i know, but its the longest run so far and it did not skip a beat. One problem was the bloody targa top leaking as it was the first time its been out in the rain and boy did it rain. Wet bum later, went to zed world for some targa blinds (and he had blue ones to match my spec :xxx:). Good old Jeff and Jamie also sorted my leak out so thanks guys you are true gents. Damien

Hi all, Well some may remember a while back that I had an issue with my car failing the balance test, well I had a compression test done and that showed results of between 175 and 168. Now we swapped coil packs and plugs with no change although there was some corrosion on the plug and pack on cylinder 6 which is the one that is failing the test, this was cleaned but still have the problem. There is a slight misfire on on tick over which is pointing to a problem althought the car seems to pull fine with no hesitation. The misfire clears if I raise the fuel pressure by 7% in conzult but I couldn't tell you if this fixes the balance test issue as you can…

Could you tell me how many characters (numbers and letters) for a VIN Ukspec ,i think that it's 17 and 12 characters for a japan spec ? Could you confirm that ? Best regards José.

Hi guys, Reacently my Z has started to splutter even under low presure & maybe over fule? as it smells pritty strong. This is not always the case as sometimes it will run smoothly, any ideas? if i can't sort it myself i will be over to Zedworld. . . If! i can make it. It would be good to have a Haynes manual for the beast but this is the only car ive EVER had that they don't do one for!! dose anyone know why? AAARRRR!!! Did they simply ignore the fact that it was even built!?. . . I need to let off some steam!. . . One day i will know everything about the Z32 but for now, my frustration continues. Regards Matt

My tailgate spoiler is fubar, so i have a replacement on in grp/glass fibre??.. anyway, its a spoiler. Now i could just put it on and put the rear brake light back in, however , when i put my car PC in i have a rear view camera as well to install. problem is as always, where to put it, I was thinking of placing the camera in the middle of the brake light slot and have a brake light either side.. What do you think? Now just have to find a suitable brake light that fits. picture of camera (next to mouse for size reference) and a picture of the spoiler brake light slot So what do you think? Ric

Hi all, Whilst clearing out my garage I found a new, boxed radiator cap. On the box it's listed as a Denso (part number 022510-0580) and on the cap itself is a Nismo sticker with the rating 0.13Mpa (1.3kg/cm2). I've read some bad things about the Nismo cap on here; but this looks like a Denso with a Nismo sticker. Do you reckon it's safe to fit or should I bin it? Thanks, Richard:cool:

The only thing that's never worked in my Z in the 4+ years I've had it is the illuminated ignition surround. Just never got round to replacing the bulb, or sorting the connection out. Low and behold, went for a ride in the Z and hey presto! It mysteriously works!
