...after having the kit knocking about for 18 months or so :smash: I thought it's now time to get cracking! I got the rears done in about 2 1/2 hours - I was surprised at how straight-forward the job was. i think the trickiest part was trying to get those damn plastic ties to thread back around the frame of the seat. after the tenth one i worked out that if i pushed one finger down one side, then tried to slide the tie from the other side up my nail then it did the job (i think the ties i bought were a little too small to work with, but patience payed off in the end) i also have blue trim to replace all the tweed cards etc. but i think it may be too light (its l…

Firstly although mentioned elsewhere I would like say a very big THANK YOU and WELL DONE for those involved in the organisation of what I and many others consider the best meet for a long time. Also I would like to thanks the members who where able to attend and for the warm welcome shown to myself, Jamie and my brother Alan, it felt like a real meaningful event that I hope will continue to hold the 300zx forum together and of course maintain its title of the biggest and best 300zx forum in the UK. Also it cannot go unmentioned that you guys voted me for two awards that was unexpected but never the less very welcome and I thank you all who was involved with tha…

I went to Modified Madness at Thorney Island (just around the corner from me:)) at the weekend to get some runs in with the Zed and my bike down the quarter mile strip. Had an absolutely wicked time and I was the only one flying the flag for the Zed brigade. Had some traction issues (surprising I know) off the line as it's just a disused runway on an army base but as the weekend went on more rubber was laid and my launches got better. I did 5 runs in the zed starting with a 14.223 @ 108.6 mph and my last run was a 13.470 @ 110.0 mph:hyper:. Very happy with the result as it was my 1st time on the strip and it wasn't a proper one. Might have to do a trip to the pod at some …

Hey everyone I just got a good deal on a zed which needs some work and am thinking about taking it to zedworld. Has anyone had them do an engine or turbo swap? If so what were your prices and how do you feel about the quality of the work? Also do we get a club discount? Thanks.

Hi Guys, a quick question Any ideas how easy it is to fit tein monoflex suspension all round. i have just ordered this with EDFC. I have done a lot of mods on my own. Guessing i will need spring clamps to hold spring in compression for when you unbolt, the original bits and remove, then bolt in a pre-assemble Tein coilover and bolt up. it might come with complete instructions?? How do you know how far to bolt everything up? Was planning on fitting stillen anti roll bars & tension rods, adjustable suspension and AP Big brakes at the same time!! Or would you recommend getting this done at a garage? Any help appreciated? Regards Kev

So it seems like Jeff and co were kept busy with conzulting loads of Zeds at JAE, thing is who's seriously needed tinkering with and then went hope feeling very happy and who's was bob on that didn't need his magic touch :) Just curious, as generally so many are throttle body inbalance's and timing, which can make big differences... cheers smithy

got some serious tyre wear on the inside of my front tyres, wheels wobble when braking also question is i have fitted some energy suspention bushes in the tension rods maybe 8 years ago will these have worn out causing the wobble?? standard suspension with 18's have done a search found that the old suspention may have sagged and camber will need correcting, i will need to check iirc bottom arm bush king pin top link track rod end car will need to be checked for alignment toe in out ect anyone else have an idea what to check

  10. I always thought the zeds steering was way to light for a sport gt car, so i had a go and disconnected the hicas ecu and its now alot heavier which i like, I can feel alot more of the road and what the cars doing. :D I was always told the steering might become even lighter with it disconnected...nope. Im thinking about re connecting the ecu BUT looping a switch to the power wire so i can have it both ways light or heavy, light for parking and city driving and heavy for cornering. Whos with me? :D Those of you with hicas bypassed and are fed up with the hicas light on constantly... well its now off too :D added bonus for me.

Hi, My ZED has been cleansed of all unwanted tosh and the vacuum lines are simplified as per the drawing below BUT... with the addition of the Boost Sensor still being connected to the balance bar - which is NOT shown in the drawing below! Is this an error in the drawing - or because I have an AUTO?? :o

  12. Which one of the above would be better for me? I have a NA with 98,000 miles. I'm avoiding anything fully-synthetic as it's probably too thin for an old engine and not sure if it will give any advantages.

My cigar lighter socket is not working, and on the assumption (hope!) that a fuse was blown, tried looking for it but can't find it. Found the ones for the lights etc. but not one that is obviously for this. Does anyone know where it is located? I am of course assuming that there is a fuse for the cigar lighter.

Hello My UK auto TT has been sleeping in my garage since January after breaking down one too many times! Next weekend I am going to fire her up, however this is the problem. last time I drove her after breaking down the engine kept cutting out, at the time I thought it was either a failed PTU or Wet MAF (Apexi!) so replaced the PTU with a working one, and disconnected the MAF, but the engine cuts out. When she dies, you can start her up again no problem then 30 seconds later, it sounds like she is only running a a few cylinders then dies, there is no knocking, ect! I have no consult or data scan about 150 miles from Zed World and the car is not drivable,…

Was it possible to buy a 300zx without a centre brake light? Mine had a blank when I bought it, but I assumed that was just because it had a replacement spoiler, but now I've removed the spoiler there are no wires for a brake light. I assumed they all came with one.

Just made a phone call to Carol Nash insurance after searching threads on here, and have been quoted £139. They are going to ring me back tonight to let me know if they have to increase it slightly because of my alloy's being slightly wider on the back compared to standard wheel's.What do you think the outcome will be, an increase of £100.

I've scoured the forum for these basic answers but cannot find what I need to know. 1) Do I have to remove my headlights just to fit some bulbs? 2) On the high beam clip, what is the action to remove it? (pinch the ends together etc?) Been trying for ages but seems stuck! I ordered a set of bulbs for my headlights from ebay which are all H3's which I now know won't fit. as far as I can see, the outer bulbs are H3C's, the inner mains have the H1 3 pin connector, but looking through the lens (as I can't remove either) the ends resemble H3 tips - Do the Jap cars have an adaptor ring and standard H1's will definitely fit? getting majorly p*ss*d off with this …

Both my targas have been leaking where at front corner of window glass where targa meets roof. Used creaking crack cure then replaced rubbers along edge of targa (at top of door glass) - no improvement. Yesterday went to a classic car show where a Z was on display- spoke to owner who suggested problem may be blocked 'A' pillar rubbers- reckons water runs down inside these ( as well as through drain holes on top of roof). Is this correct and, if so, how do you remove the rubber block at top of 'a' pillar which is attached to the rubber which runs down the 'A' pillar.

Hi all, I was installing my new HIDs the other day and noticed there's a wire not plugged into a connector: It's located on the passenger side of the engine, right next to the plenum. Can anyone shed any light on what it's for and why it's not connected? Cheers, Brian
