I'm starting to think of the benefits of registering the V8 as a kit car. You need 8 points to retain your age related plate but i can sort of say that i don't quite meet that: chassis or body shell (body and chassis as one unit - monocoque ie direct replacement from the manufacturer) (original or new) = 5 points suspension = 2 points axles = 2 points transmission = 2 points steering assembly = 2 points engine = 1 point Chassis i can't say has changed tbh, it's the same although the front subframe is a one off. Just bought a SWB TT with an autobahn front mount intercooler and im trying to decide wether to keep it or get sides again Whats your thoughts Im stripping out the aircon to help with cooling & weight and planning on getting rid of the viscous fan aswell and going electric. what are the sizez of the speakers that are in the zeds 1996 , the back 2 of mine are fooked and the front 2 sound poor , to save me from pulling the panels off to find the size then go hunting it would be easier to just know them. Thanks

Looking around my interior, the worst item is definitely the worn interior door handles. Read on here that the best replacements are the Terrano II chrome handles. Is this correct and are any mods/additional bits required? Where's the best place to get them and how much should I pay? Thanks.

ive just fited a hks alc and took it out for a spin but when cruzing at 60 ish it dosent go in to the top gear (revs stay at 3500rpm) and when i accelerate gently it changes up a gear! is this normal?

garage called today, emmissions are out because of pipes at the back of engine conencted wrong/going to nowhere only thing i can think of is the EGR. (unless anyone thinks anything else) now the EGR solenoid is removed from the car, and the take-off on the side of the engine is blocked off. but the EGR valve itself is still there on the back of the engine. will this casue a vacuum leak? or will it be re-dundant as there is no solenoid/pipe from the engine going to it

Hi all, The engine is pretty much ran in now and I want to take it somewhere to be mapped properly. Does anyone know where I should take it and approximate costs? Also I am running a normal ECU with a chip in to run the 740 nismo injectors. Do I need to purchase a different EVCU or anything? If so what should I go for and where do I get em thanks Lee

Im looking at my next mod. Ive searched and found bits, but not anything complete. I have heated wing mirrors on my UK zed, i also have spare jap spec folding mirrors. What i want to do is combine the two. to have heated folding mirrors. i have the original switches of my Jap breaker. cant it be done? anyone else tried to do it.??????

Ok guys looking for some advice, just fitted an after market boost gauge today which reads in Bar. Started the car and it goes into the minus but vibrates or flicks up and down slightly only between 2 lines at idle, but i thought nothing of it took the car out for a blast. With the pedal to the floor the absolute max boost i get is 0.5bar which i think is about 7psi? Stock should be 9psi? Or is this normal? Thanks in Advance.

So ok after the garage saying they are happy for me to collect my car to move onto another garage and a couple days before picking up saying i owe them about £8,000 to pick my car up completly in bits, engine out, engine stripped and completly in bits. Hi all, I noticed the location of the fitment of bovs are in different locations. Some just before the throttle bodies and others on the lower intakes. Is there any reason or pros or cons between them? Cheers

if the new m3 has 400bhp and 300lbs of torque and weighs 1750kg would a zed with 400 bhp and 400 lbs of torque be able to confortably pass the new v8 m3?

Seen some odd corrossion but take a look at the photo, what your looking at is the headlamp washer motor on a UK spec breaker, it Is completely rotted through to inner windings...weird. Jeff TT

Hi all, Today i managed to get one of my 300zx turbos running. I bought it from a guy who rebuilt the engine but never got it to run (4 years ago). I found loads wrong with it. However, its running now but the turbos are not boosting at all. I have checked them and they're not seized so it has to be something else. Whats the score with the little egr valves on the sides os the turbos? Is there any way of testing them? Has anyone else come across this problem? :headvswal

I was looking through some american car pics and thought I'd try the orange sidelight approach, what do you lot think? or doesnt look right against the blue tint of the HIDs? help me out, I wanna know if its cool or not lol.
