ok here goes. i am looking to get hold of a manual conversion kit. I did see one on ebay a few weeks back but has now been sold :( i cannot find one anywhere. The other option i have is to rebuild mine... What parts would i need to rebuild it (hopefully with stronger parts) and roughly how much am i looking at to do it myself? i see Z1 sell a manual box without parts needed for around £700 delivered and £1300 with parts. do other boxes fit? i do not have room for another zed to be broken for parts otherwise i would of done so. looks like i will never find the manual box again at this rate :( any ideas peeps or how to get manual or how to…

I'm in the garage with the engine split from the box.. as in all the bolts are undone, and all the wires disconnected, the engine pulls as far as enough to see the fly wheel, but the box won't seperate completely... It's an auto box jap model, can anyone tell me what I've missed?

Hi. Does anybody know if either a later spec (mine's a 90 import) Z came with heated front screen or if there's a after market heated screen available? Looking to get rid of the heater on my track project, but still want a demist setup for road driving. Cheers Stu

did a compression test today. i think all is well all drivers side was 12bar- 176psi all passanger side was 11bar-160psi i think my timing belt is out as the cas is adjusted to nearly the end of its travel. i would hope that after changing the belt they might level out? as one bank would be running more overlap hence a lower compression. make sense? if the head gasket had failed i would expect either one or two cylinders to drop

Very happy with the car, extremely fast and well looked after, a few small bubbles of rust making their way through but nothing much to worry about, just need to sell my car now. A big thankyou to Stu for taking me for a spin in his vxr8, what a car. Will take some pics shortly of it with the new 19" Jade R Wheels.

I know it's a bit sad, but I bought some centre cap covers from E-bay to go on my wheels..... .....I removed the "Mania" sticker and added these "Z" items. Sure it's the Z from the 350 but I don't think they're too bad. Plus they match my valves!!! Unfortunately a stupid tyre fitter has lost one of the original caps so I have to locate a new one; Wheelmania no longer have them so I'd be grateful for any suggestions..... Richard:)

I am finally looking to upgrade my stock headlights to HIDs but am a little confused as to which ones to get.... ...my understanding is that there are different wavelengths which give off slightly different colour light and that some might even be illegal on a road car?? Does anyone have anymore info? I've had a look on DTA/Smithys but I'm still confused...:(

Right been reading loads on mods and things to do with the car but no one seems to say why it needs doing. As i have a 1991 car, what and why would i need to do this. Remove the AIV Relocating the Det sensor (not sure this even applies to me due to not having a turbo) Any other little tweaks and what not, if someone could say a list and why it would be beneficial would help a lot, still trying to get to grips with me new broom broom.

There is currently on e*ay a set of Wilwood brakes with 345mm discs etc for what seems like a reasonable price. Does anyone on here have Wilwood brakes ? And other feedback would be much appreciated as I've never felt the standard set-up was quite good enough and these seem like a strong alternative for the money. There's also a full 350z Brembo set-up front and rear for £700. Are these a direct bolt on replacement on our cars ? Cheers Mark
