Hi all, Today i managed to get one of my 300zx turbos running. I bought it from a guy who rebuilt the engine but never got it to run (4 years ago). I found loads wrong with it. However, its running now but the turbos are not boosting at all. I have checked them and they're not seized so it has to be something else. Whats the score with the little egr valves on the sides os the turbos? Is there any way of testing them? Has anyone else come across this problem? :headvswal

Its something that I have been wondering about for quite a while, so finally I'll ask the question. I assume that the fog lights on a UK Zed are incorporated into the rear light clusters of the Zed. On the Jap spec, they are not which results in the add on rear fog lamp under the rear bumper and it looks crap. If my assumption regarding the UK rear fog lamp is correct, would it not be simple to transplant the light clusters and rewire? The above is probably totally wrong from assumption through to suggestion, but please enlighten me. Its something that I always wondered. I hope I have this in the right section (I believed it to be a discussion questio…

I lost my standard oil pressure indication on sunday so i'm looking to put aftermarket gauges in while my zed's tucked up for the winter. I've been looking around and found these: http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=465&osCsid=97a5b2de3ca0c5959e5806cf6148cf9f Anyone had any experience / running these gauges? I think they seem moderately priced so thought i'd find out if others have them before i buy a set. (Boost pressure, Water Temp and Oil Pressure)

OK, turns out it's not the cam timing, it's the cam grind that's off!! Lesson learned: With this sort of valve train if you decrease the base circle of the cam then you have to increase the valve stem length too or the rockers fall off!!! Hence the low power reading, only 8 inlets opening! New cams and 32 extended valves on order now. Bugger. Bugger. Bugger. At least the rockers didn't jam something up and snap the timing chains. One did come through the top of the rocker box though!

Noticed this on pistonheads there.; Link Removed due to receiving a Complaint. I previously put this car up as a was it you? post. Drove past this in a taxi in aberdeen when heading to my hotel for my crew change day. Anyways...........It looked quite tidy sitting on the street when i went past, and basically i think this would be quite a nice zed to get especially at that price, could probs pick it up for £1500, just needs some TLC. Real bargain hear IMO.

Last night we got the lump out of the zed, and she's now ready for phase two, which involves cash leaving my pocket. That's gonna take a while, there's sod all in there to start with. The plan is to spend about £1200 on parts, and about £400 on machine work at the engine shop. I'm hoping to get her up to 500bhp by the end of this, but I'd be happy if she ran at standard power, to be honest. I'm doing this with no help, no haynes manual, and no 15mm 1/2" drive socket. This was the end result last night......

Hi all, has anyone changed their clutch master cylinder? The clutch line connects to the bottom of my cylinder but every cylinder i've looked at on the net has the clutch line connect on the side. Has anyone else had this problem?:headvswal
